    I hope you enjoyed the quick tour! As I was editing I realized I forgot to mention my favorite feature: my hideaway tables!! I use them all the time and they take up no space at all. If you watch any of my recent vlogs, you can see them in use.

    Firestone now makes window covers that are black on one side and silver on the other. The black side absorbs heat for the winter months - and the silver reflects light - keeping your car cooler in the summer. I found mine at the 99 cent store... they were around $4.00 a window cover.

    Nice job on displaying your home on wheels but how many changes/adjustments do you think you've made to get your rig to this point. The planning alone must have been something to witness. Just a suggestion, I have a foldable solar panel that I put in as a sun shade for the windshield and connect it to my Jackery 1000, it adds power while keeping the car cooler. Another tip to share is I bought a butane stove with the propane hose kit, that way I can use butane or those green 1lb bottles, it gives me options. I look forward to watching your future vlogs, until then, I hope you take care and stay safe out there.

    Where to use the restroom at night? My set up is almost the same. I sold my 4 runner I miss it. But it had 315,000 miles on it. Now just a Prius V station wagon. Have not removed the seats yet. But then I haven’t taken to the road yet. I use a trip toilet behind the drivers seat. I’m the small car it is a challenge. One night I was at a campground in New Mexico and used my pop up tent with trip toilet inside. The weather was nice though. And the wolves and coyotes were somewhere howling in the middle of the night. Seemed kinda spooky. Happy travels.

    18:27 looking up the specs of the 3000x, doesn’t look like it takes a fast charge like the newer ones. Not sure how much you drive Vs parked but a cigarette adapter splitter would give you some juice while driving and 200 watts of solar ran down the windshield with a KC lights cable hider is a nice waterproof way to get the solar cables inside the cab.

      Thank you! I may look into the lower platform on one side if I do another build... I haven't completely decided my thoughts on it. I go back and forth. It would be nice to be able to sit up somewhere other than the driver's seat, especially on the bad weather days. Also, the pullout tables are by far the most used pieces of the build.

    Grace, I run a 12V charging cable from the rear passenger cargo area 12V plug to my Jackery so that it is charging whenever I am driving. Of course, if you stay in one place for a while, that doesn’t help. Are you able to charge that way? A folding solar panel or two would be fairly cheap as an alternative to coffee shop charging.

    • @NoPerfectPlan
      @NoPerfectPlan  2 года назад

    How do you like the mountain House meals? It's actually amazing how much stuff you have in there. I WANT SOME SUN AND WARMTH TOO!! 😜 I'm going on a road trip tomorrow for a studio I'm building but it's only a 3 day. 🥺
    Does the quilt slip and slide around? That battery looks huge!! I need one. Checking your description for an affiliate link...

      I actually don't mind the mountain house meals! I feel like they are pretty good (some better than others of course). Although, they are best enjoyed when very hungry haha!
      I definitely still have a bunch of "comfort/nice to haves" on the road in the 4Runner. I could reduce the amount of stuff dramatically if needed!
      The quilt actually is like a sleeping bag up to about my hips, so it goes fully around me. This keeps it from moving quite a bit. It is more like a sleeping bag than a blanket... I know the word quilt can be deceiving. Hopefully, this answers your question!
      Road trip!!!! Have fun! 3 days is a great amount of time :) Enjoy!

      There are so many options right now! You could work remotely for a company, which I did for a while. Freelance videography and photography is also an option if you enjoy that. Freelance work is general is a good start - upwork and fiverr are a couple resources for that. You could also look into seasonal jobs, like guiding or ski instructing if you have those skill sets. I would check out coolworks if that is something the seasonal jobs sound intriguing. And RUclips and affiliate marketing is also an option, although the money takes a long time to start coming in. Hope this gives you a good starting point! You’ll also make contacts on the road that will open some doors for potential jobs.

    When you live in a Van or SUV. Do you have to upgrade the struts/shocks & springs for all the extra weight you carry?

      She does not have to upgrade the shocks. Those things she have are not too heavy. Besides, she removed the rear seat.

    Was wondering about your thoughts on roof rack storage ? Would give you some room inside if you could store some of them on top no ? But maybe you have your reasons

      Would love some storage on top! I honestly can’t justify spending the $$ right now to put a roof rack and box on my car since I can fit it all inside. No reasons really other than money needs to go to other things right now😁
