Wow. I really like Fred Armisen. He is substantial and completely without artifice or pretension. What a lovely human being. Sam, as always, has The Goods! I learnt something listening to this. I love it when a conversation opens a door to new understanding.
Had no idea artifice was a noun
@@jujuonthatqueef5043 I love words. I used 'assiduous' yesterday. I had to look it up to see if I was using it correctly (it had just jumped into my head as I wrote a sentence). And I had! Echo's of my father speaking (English professor at a small university). He loved language and used complex words when I was little, so they seemed perfectly normal. I'm always thrilled when I hear others using more of our very rich language.
I just love Fred's presence. He is an authentic person who truly lives in gratitude. Something to aspire to.
Amazingly honest and candid statements w/o any pretention. It's like this guy can't lie and he values that experience so much that speaking of it falsely would be sacrilege.
You da man, Fred.
This is seriously one of the best youtube channels ever. It super underrated!
I am loving these little snippets with Fred. He's amazing and these are so insightful, thanks! :)
Sam's interviews are so refreshing. It's not a typical late night television interview where the guest has been asked the same questions 2 dozen times by everybody else. He has a way of opening dialog and having real conversation, not some pre scripted overdone malarkey.
Exactly the comment i was looking for! Couldnt agree more hes my favorite interviewer
Kudos on using the word "Malarkey"! 😄
You’re a natural interviewer who puts people at ease and asks insightful questions. I just learned about you and admire your work. Thanks for sharing on RUclips.
Yes, it's refreshing to see an interviewer who has good skills; asks pertinent questions, doesn't interrupt the guest, appears engaged, and has a bit of fun with it all.
This is the place for comedy geeks who love the ART of comedy. I always come away inspired. What a wonderful interviewer you are with the best of the best. Can't get enough. Thx for getting me through quarantine.
Fred is so great. Always has a thoughtful take on everything.
Fred has a very soothing story telling voice and is soooo interesting! I find most of the snl cast from around this time to be such interesting people!!
he's soo intelligent. these videos are such a treat!
People in the arts need this kind of feedback. I was a visual art student and the teachers that I liked the most, and took the most classes with, were the ones where if you got a B, B+ you were on cloud 9- an A was something to really earn. Artists shouldn't be coddled, they should be pushed so they can learn how to push themselves later on.
These interviews are so awesome! So glad I finally subbed!
Fred has always been my favourite!
Same for all artists, everyday 👏👏👏
I actually went to the website to see how much $ to watch this whole interview because it's so good.
Try out our monthly subscription. Only $4.99 and you can watch EVERY episode!!!
Love the look and tone of this show. Relaxing and intriguing at the same time. It's the TV version of a speedball.
Soooo good. Fred totally gets it.
This is a great video on behind the scene SNL life and culture.
Qué emotividad en sus palabras.
Man I thought i was one of the biggest SNL fans.. this man is so lucky to get all the BTS insight from this cast
SNL is more about the people. i love this show and what it stands for.... it gives so many people a shot at what they love to do. and it seems like such a fun place to work. And everyone is SOOOO talented!
I love Fred tho hes one of my favorites!
Oh, Fred ☺️
humble man
This guy should play madcap in Deadpool 3
it would be great because it can be not only with deadpool but also in falcon and the winter soldier, but if they use Madcap, they're probably going for someone younger :/
Hey it’s Frank Stein
Fred is incredible.
The way he talks sounds like jimmy fallon
They seem like good friends, I love it.
1:27 No shout out to Seth (Meyers) :D
Hey c'mon - he's speaking off the cuff, from memory. I'm not going to knock him like it was some kind of calculated insult. Don't go poking for drama where there isn't any. If you watch videos of him and Bill Hader (also not mentioned, I think...) and Seth talking about Documentary Now (go find the 92nd St Y interview) you'll see that there is huge respect and camaraderie between all of these guys.

sounds like hell.
I can set you free some went dumb the dead see is the kingdom river in the us fish
if only the new cast thought like him. always liked his comedy.
Chroma. Please add chroma.
your lighting brings out any flaws that your guests have.
Either they're just hiring unfunny people or the management style that Fred describes from his time at SNL is wayyyyyy different now, as in more rules and "guidance" and less bringing your comedic voice and redefining what the show is in your own way.
Fine, but what I want to know is: If the sketches are written by the cast members themselves, how come everyone is reading the cue cards? Shouldn't they know what they wrote?
I notice some read more than others. But they're writing new material every week so that's a lot to remember very quickly.
@@CommaCam Perhaps. But if I write something, I just instantly remember it all. I can remember maybe 20 pages of dialogue if I'm the author. But if I'm not, I don't remember shit.
@@SpaceCattttt you remember all new 20 pages every week then? with different co-writers and styles? that's well done.
@@SunnyBear Yes, it is.
Also, (a) they're often in sketches written by somebody else, (b) they are sometimes changing lines (and thus the cue cards) right up to the last minute, and (c) although *you* may have an excellent memory for lines, can you understand that not everybody does?
I’ve never liked him. Great guy though. I just don’t get his humor.
