Avengers is just my favorite MCU movie ever. The story of these different heroes meeting, the cracks/drama in the team, them having to put their differences aside to team up, proving each other wrong, the action and camera shots. Love it.

Thank you for mentioning the rewatchability of the Iron Man trilogy. The plots for the final two are messy, but I would rather watch both of them back to back than have to sit through almost any of the released movies since Endgame.
@@FilmStocked I think movies that are more grounded are more rewatchable. Even in the realm of fantasy and super heroes, the older movies are just more grounded.
Deadpool and Wolverine is up at 1 for me. Maybe it’ll change when I rewatch it on Sunday, but I was absolutely hooked and on the edge of my seat for the whole film. It was beautiful.

I think in time, more people will think Deadpool & Wolverine is worse after some time to reflect and they will come to their senses. But since it’s the new shiny toy out right now and people are still in their honeymoon phase with it, they will praise it like it’s the greatest movie ever made or one of the MCU elites when it’s not. But hey, people do have low standards if there are diehard fans for The Acolyte. Remember last year when people were saying GotG Vol. 3 was the best MCU movie since Endgame? Now we’re hearing D&W is the best MCU movie since Endgame? Um, so what happened with No Way Home? People came to their senses that No Way Home was a cameo fest with a weak and forgettable story. But I still got more feelz out of NWH than D&W. MCU fans are becoming prisoners of the moment. Right now, you will praise D&W. Wait next year when RUclipsrs start saying Brave New World is the best MCU movie since Endgame. Then gas up Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts after that. Deadpool & Wolverine is much closer quality to Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder in terms of plot than it is to Infinity War and Endgame. If I can include TV series… 1. Loki 🐐 2. Yea I agree I had a blast with Deadpool & Wolverine. It’s a top 10 MCU movie for me and I agree that it’s not just a camera fest and does genuinely have more heart than I was expecting. It’s definitely the most heart I’ve felt in a Deadpool movie.

i’ll never understand the iron man 3 slander tbh. i actually liked what they did with the mandarin bc the comic counterpart was just a borderline racist asian caricature and the film erased that. also it’s just a fantastic tony stark movie in general.

Me too. I also feel there was a sense of inconsistency in his standards. e.g. he ranks Ant-Man 2 and 3 low because of its impact on the greater MCU, but doesn't give GOTG 2 and 3 the same treatment.
Good ranking, we share many similar views. I agree on the top 2, although I have them flipped. But I think Infinity War and Endgame are in their own tier. I also agree Ragnarok has gotten worse over time and with rewatches. I loved it the first time, but on rewatch, you see its flaws and the humor gets weaker. I loved Deadpool and Wolverine, but I could see it having a similar fate years later. Once you know all the cameos and many of the jokes that are coming, I could see it not being quite as good after multiple viewings. As much as I loved it, I think the movie would be even better if they slightly dialed down the humor and slightly dialed up the character development. I think that will come through on a rewatch.

I personally like Endgame the most since it feels like it concluded everything perfectly. I get that some people don't like it because everything was perfect, but not everything was, the avengers still made mistakes. And I can totally see this not being the best mcu movie for most. But I just like how it ended everything
Endgame is the most overrated movie of all time. The time travel twist just ruins everything. And it comes right of of Infinity War which is the greatest comic book movie of all time.

*Deadpool* *&* *Wolverine* *=* *B-* So when Thor: Love and Thunder relied on being too funny and had a weak story, it got critically panned. But if D&W does the same thing, it’s awesome? It’s a better version of Multiverse of Madness because more and far better cameos but a worse version of No Way Home. Basically what I saw in Deadpool 3 was an SNL skit or an episode of Family Guy trying to spoof MCU but Seth MacFarlane would replace Ryan Reynolds’ fourth wall breaking. Remember in Love and Thunder when Lady Sif found out she wasn’t making Valhalla and she goes, “Shit!” That’s what D&W is. A parody/spoof of MCU. It’s MCU’s version of Spaceballs. But at least Disney has a sense of humor of self-mocking itself. I didn’t hate it. Another watch as I will probably see this at least 5x and it might get better. But similar to Love and Thunder and No Way Home, it relied on too much humor and cameos to mask a very weak, forgettable story. Even the final third act felt like a huge mess. A bunch of Deadpools show up out of the blue. Deadpool and Wolverine hold hands while a Madonna song is playing. Metacritic only has D&W at 53%. I get it that Deadpool is supposed to be funny and Thor doesn’t need to be a comic but it ends being a stand-up routine if it’s all jokes and no other emotion. When Taika Waititi tried to be too funny with Love and Thunder and even for Ragnarok, he got blasted for it. Even did a joke on cancer. If Deadpool uses Logan’s corpse or uses Nicepool as a shield, it’s totally fine. So only Deadpool movies can be funny but not for another Thor movie? I didn’t feel like Deadpool really redeemed himself in this after what Logan told him in the car saying what a big joke he is. And some of the stuff Logan said cut really deep. Basically, Deadpool is an annoying af jabber who can’t save the world and couldn’t stay in a relationship with an ex stripper. I felt the movie was too mean-spirited. I didn’t like that opener when we see Logan’s corpse. It felt weird. It was taking a piss on Logan’s ending from the 2017 film and trying to make a joke out of it. Then Deadpool proceeds to kill a bunch of hunters from the TVA while N’Sync’s “Bye Bye Bye” plays and we’re supposed to root for him while he dances and kills? How come Hunter B-15 didn’t mention about that later? Deadpool just killed a bunch of her co-workers unless Paradox was operating from a different part of the TVA that we know from Loki. It did seem to operate independently from where B-15 was. Shucks, no Mobius but we get B-15? Not even a Miss Minutes, Renslayer, or O.B. cameo? Budget getting too big? There were a lot of scenes that were over-the-top and didn’t feel necessary. Then jokes in between or in the background like the 20th Century Fox sign. Spaceballs humor. Deadpool and Wolverine would keep fighting but they can’t kill each other because they both can regenerate. So nothing is at stake and all we’re seeing are splashes of blood. Same when they were fighting all the other Deadpools. Splashes of blood but nobody dies. Not all was bad. I did like the cameos and a lot of the songs especially “Power of Love” and “Lady in Red”. I will rank my favorite cameos below, so *SPOILER* *WARNING.* Some of the jokes did have me laughing but I think it might’ve made me laugh out loud about five times at most. I just think the story was rather weak. I basically saw Multiverse of Madness meets No Way Home meets Love and Thunder but it’s directed and written by Mel Brooks and Seth MacFarlane. I think Deadpool 3 was a bit too mean-spirited and sloppy that I didn’t really care if Deadpool succeeded or not. I didn’t feel he redeemed himself either. Even copied what Loki did. It relied on gimmicky cameos and too much humor, but it felt lost and confused at the end. I think Deadpool 3 might be the worst of the three in terms of story and plot. Deadpool 1 remains the best. I had more feels from Deadpool 2. While Deadpool 3 works better as an event but not as a movie with a more coherent story. Glad the movie mocked multiverse because they know it’s a gimmick to have gimmicky cameos. The problem with Ryan Reynolds jokes is they can become dated fast. A lot of jokes are topical of current times. In 10-20 years, some of those jokes will fly over a younger viewer’s head. It’s very much like SNL, In Living Color, MadTV, Wayne’s World, Austin Powers, and Family Guy humor. If someone watches Wayne’s World (1992) but happens to be a Zoomer or Gen Alpha, they would not understand the Grey Poupon reference that my generation would understand watching that commercial as kids. I still enjoyed the movie overall but I’m not giving it an A. I think giving it a B- is rather generous. As I predicted, it’s probably my 10th or 11th favorite MCU film ever. Did not make my Elite 8. Loki is still way better than Deadpool 3. It had humor, more likable characters, and it still had heart and a better story. Loki probably had the best redemption arc of all-time followed by Tony in Endgame. I’m just seeing a better version of Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder but a worse version of No Way Home. I actually didn’t find the Henry Cavill cameo as a Wolverine variant all that surprising. I never read or heard a leak for it. But when he was ready to turn around, I felt it was going to be Henry and I was right. Henry has a bigger body than Hugh and he’s taller. I did laugh when Ryan told him that Disney will treat him better. The Chris Evans cameo was funny but I wasn’t like OMG. We’re all assuming Steve Rogers when he’s still Johnny 🔥. The end-credit with Chris Evans cursing like a sailor with his Boston accent did give me a chuckle. He’s way different than Cap IRL. I was actually waiting for Jessica Alba to show up after we saw Johnny. Even though Jessica isn’t white like Chris Evans and they’re supposed to be siblings. I don’t know why but I enjoyed the Jennifer Garner cameo the most and I’m aware how bad Elektra is as IMDb has a 4.7 score for it. She’s already in her 50s and it was a pleasant surprise seeing her. It gives me hope we will see Hilary Swank before Cobra Kai ends. Jennifer Garner and Hilary Swank came up in the same era and even get mistaken for each other all the time. Her appearance is like the Helen Slater CGI appearance in The Flash but ex-Mrs. Affleck got to do more. Seeing Wesley (the one and only Blade as he said) was great too. Now Blade (1998) will always be the best Blade movie to me. I saw that in a packed theater with friends that ‘98 summer and I thought it was badass. The other two Blade movies were pretty wack especially the third one with Ryan Reynolds. So when Wesley showed up, it didn’t wow me as much remembering how bad Blade: Trinity was and I already saw Wesley appear in The Expendables 3 from 10 years ago. The Channing Tatum cameo was finally giving him his moment to be Gambit after the movie for him was scrapped back in 2019. I did think his Creole accent was pretty wack and glad Ryan pointed it out. This might actually be the best cameo. It would be like if Tom Cruise showed up as Iron Man and Leonardo DiCaprio as Spider-Man. Although those guys are A-listers and Channing Tatum is not. Thank you for mentioning the rewatchability of the Iron Man trilogy. The plots for the final two are messy, but I would rather watch both of them back to back than have to sit through almost any of the released movies since Endgame.
A recent realization for me is that a lot of the Phase 1 movies are more rewatchable and overall better films than some of the post Endgame stuff

Deadpool and Wolverine is up at 1 for me. Maybe it’ll change when I rewatch it on Sunday, but I was absolutely hooked and on the edge of my seat for the whole film. It was beautiful.

Its taken me years to accept it, but I think Avengers is my favorite MCU movie along with my favorite movie of all time

I think in time, more people will think Deadpool & Wolverine is worse after some time to reflect and they will come to their senses. But since it’s the new shiny toy out right now and people are still in their honeymoon phase with it, they will praise it like it’s the greatest movie ever made or one of the MCU elites when it’s not. But hey, people do have low standards if there are diehard fans for The Acolyte.
Remember last year when people were saying GotG Vol. 3 was the best MCU movie since Endgame? Now we’re hearing D&W is the best MCU movie since Endgame? Um, so what happened with No Way Home? People came to their senses that No Way Home was a cameo fest with a weak and forgettable story. But I still got more feelz out of NWH than D&W.
MCU fans are becoming prisoners of the moment. Right now, you will praise D&W. Wait next year when RUclipsrs start saying Brave New World is the best MCU movie since Endgame. Then gas up Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts after that. Deadpool & Wolverine is much closer quality to Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder in terms of plot than it is to Infinity War and Endgame.

Yea I agree I had a blast with Deadpool & Wolverine. It’s a top 10 MCU movie for me and I agree that it’s not just a camera fest and does genuinely have more heart than I was expecting. It’s definitely the most heart I’ve felt in a Deadpool movie.

Me too. I also feel there was a sense of inconsistency in his standards. e.g. he ranks Ant-Man 2 and 3 low because of its impact on the greater MCU, but doesn't give GOTG 2 and 3 the same treatment.
MCU in my opinion to this day just always has dodgy cgi which takes me out most of the films unfortunately

Good ranking, we share many similar views. I agree on the top 2, although I have them flipped. But I think Infinity War and Endgame are in their own tier.
I also agree Ragnarok has gotten worse over time and with rewatches. I loved it the first time, but on rewatch, you see its flaws and the humor gets weaker.
I loved Deadpool and Wolverine, but I could see it having a similar fate years later. Once you know all the cameos and many of the jokes that are coming, I could see it not being quite as good after multiple viewings. As much as I loved it, I think the movie would be even better if they slightly dialed down the humor and slightly dialed up the character development. I think that will come through on a rewatch.

I personally like Endgame the most since it feels like it concluded everything perfectly. I get that some people don't like it because everything was perfect, but not everything was, the avengers still made mistakes. And I can totally see this not being the best mcu movie for most.
But I just like how it ended everything

Endgame is the most overrated movie of all time. The time travel twist just ruins everything. And it comes right of of Infinity War which is the greatest comic book movie of all time.

Multiverse of madness that low should be jail time
*Deadpool* *&* *Wolverine* *=* *B-*
So when Thor: Love and Thunder relied on being too funny and had a weak story, it got critically panned. But if D&W does the same thing, it’s awesome? It’s a better version of Multiverse of Madness because more and far better cameos but a worse version of No Way Home.
Basically what I saw in Deadpool 3 was an SNL skit or an episode of Family Guy trying to spoof MCU but Seth MacFarlane would replace Ryan Reynolds’ fourth wall breaking. Remember in Love and Thunder when Lady Sif found out she wasn’t making Valhalla and she goes, “Shit!” That’s what D&W is. A parody/spoof of MCU. It’s MCU’s version of Spaceballs. But at least Disney has a sense of humor of self-mocking itself.
I didn’t hate it. Another watch as I will probably see this at least 5x and it might get better. But similar to Love and Thunder and No Way Home, it relied on too much humor and cameos to mask a very weak, forgettable story. Even the final third act felt like a huge mess. A bunch of Deadpools show up out of the blue. Deadpool and Wolverine hold hands while a Madonna song is playing. Metacritic only has D&W at 53%.
I get it that Deadpool is supposed to be funny and Thor doesn’t need to be a comic but it ends being a stand-up routine if it’s all jokes and no other emotion. When Taika Waititi tried to be too funny with Love and Thunder and even for Ragnarok, he got blasted for it. Even did a joke on cancer. If Deadpool uses Logan’s corpse or uses Nicepool as a shield, it’s totally fine. So only Deadpool movies can be funny but not for another Thor movie?
I didn’t feel like Deadpool really redeemed himself in this after what Logan told him in the car saying what a big joke he is. And some of the stuff Logan said cut really deep. Basically, Deadpool is an annoying af jabber who can’t save the world and couldn’t stay in a relationship with an ex stripper. I felt the movie was too mean-spirited. I didn’t like that opener when we see Logan’s corpse. It felt weird. It was taking a piss on Logan’s ending from the 2017 film and trying to make a joke out of it.
Then Deadpool proceeds to kill a bunch of hunters from the TVA while N’Sync’s “Bye Bye Bye” plays and we’re supposed to root for him while he dances and kills? How come Hunter B-15 didn’t mention about that later? Deadpool just killed a bunch of her co-workers unless Paradox was operating from a different part of the TVA that we know from Loki. It did seem to operate independently from where B-15 was. Shucks, no Mobius but we get B-15? Not even a Miss Minutes, Renslayer, or O.B. cameo? Budget getting too big?
There were a lot of scenes that were over-the-top and didn’t feel necessary. Then jokes in between or in the background like the 20th Century Fox sign. Spaceballs humor. Deadpool and Wolverine would keep fighting but they can’t kill each other because they both can regenerate. So nothing is at stake and all we’re seeing are splashes of blood. Same when they were fighting all the other Deadpools. Splashes of blood but nobody dies.
Not all was bad. I did like the cameos and a lot of the songs especially “Power of Love” and “Lady in Red”. I will rank my favorite cameos below, so *SPOILER* *WARNING.* Some of the jokes did have me laughing but I think it might’ve made me laugh out loud about five times at most. I just think the story was rather weak. I basically saw Multiverse of Madness meets No Way Home meets Love and Thunder but it’s directed and written by Mel Brooks and Seth MacFarlane.
I think Deadpool 3 was a bit too mean-spirited and sloppy that I didn’t really care if Deadpool succeeded or not. I didn’t feel he redeemed himself either. Even copied what Loki did. It relied on gimmicky cameos and too much humor, but it felt lost and confused at the end. I think Deadpool 3 might be the worst of the three in terms of story and plot. Deadpool 1 remains the best. I had more feels from Deadpool 2. While Deadpool 3 works better as an event but not as a movie with a more coherent story. Glad the movie mocked multiverse because they know it’s a gimmick to have gimmicky cameos.
The problem with Ryan Reynolds jokes is they can become dated fast. A lot of jokes are topical of current times. In 10-20 years, some of those jokes will fly over a younger viewer’s head. It’s very much like SNL, In Living Color, MadTV, Wayne’s World, Austin Powers, and Family Guy humor. If someone watches Wayne’s World (1992) but happens to be a Zoomer or Gen Alpha, they would not understand the Grey Poupon reference that my generation would understand watching that commercial as kids.
I still enjoyed the movie overall but I’m not giving it an A. I think giving it a B- is rather generous. As I predicted, it’s probably my 10th or 11th favorite MCU film ever. Did not make my Elite 8. Loki is still way better than Deadpool 3. It had humor, more likable characters, and it still had heart and a better story. Loki probably had the best redemption arc of all-time followed by Tony in Endgame. I’m just seeing a better version of Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder but a worse version of No Way Home.

I’ve never seen Elektra (2005) or even anything from Daredevil whether movie or TV series, but how she responded as “it’s fine” had me laughing. A shot at her ex-hubby. 🤣 At first, I thought it was Jennifer Lawrence. But after 5 seconds, I whispered to myself that it’s Elektra.
I actually didn’t find the Henry Cavill cameo as a Wolverine variant all that surprising. I never read or heard a leak for it. But when he was ready to turn around, I felt it was going to be Henry and I was right. Henry has a bigger body than Hugh and he’s taller. I did laugh when Ryan told him that Disney will treat him better.
The Chris Evans cameo was funny but I wasn’t like OMG. We’re all assuming Steve Rogers when he’s still Johnny 🔥. The end-credit with Chris Evans cursing like a sailor with his Boston accent did give me a chuckle. He’s way different than Cap IRL. I was actually waiting for Jessica Alba to show up after we saw Johnny. Even though Jessica isn’t white like Chris Evans and they’re supposed to be siblings.
I don’t know why but I enjoyed the Jennifer Garner cameo the most and I’m aware how bad Elektra is as IMDb has a 4.7 score for it. She’s already in her 50s and it was a pleasant surprise seeing her. It gives me hope we will see Hilary Swank before Cobra Kai ends. Jennifer Garner and Hilary Swank came up in the same era and even get mistaken for each other all the time. Her appearance is like the Helen Slater CGI appearance in The Flash but ex-Mrs. Affleck got to do more.
Seeing Wesley (the one and only Blade as he said) was great too. Now Blade (1998) will always be the best Blade movie to me. I saw that in a packed theater with friends that ‘98 summer and I thought it was badass. The other two Blade movies were pretty wack especially the third one with Ryan Reynolds. So when Wesley showed up, it didn’t wow me as much remembering how bad Blade: Trinity was and I already saw Wesley appear in The Expendables 3 from 10 years ago.
The Channing Tatum cameo was finally giving him his moment to be Gambit after the movie for him was scrapped back in 2019. I did think his Creole accent was pretty wack and glad Ryan pointed it out. This might actually be the best cameo. It would be like if Tom Cruise showed up as Iron Man and Leonardo DiCaprio as Spider-Man. Although those guys are A-listers and Channing Tatum is not. We already saw last year in The Flash with Nic Cage as Superman albeit in CGI. I just can’t put Channing at No. 1 because his Creole accent was so bad.
