  • In this video, you'll take a ride on Todos Santos' Orange Line heading from the quaint suburb of Puente Verde to the dubiously-named Central Station of Todos Santos, which is actually located in the nearby town of Alegría del Alma.

    -- MORE INFO --
The Orange Line is the culmination of decades of political and practical battles. Envisioned to be the first urban rail line in the city, it was delayed on and on until 1999.
Its only extension, finished in 2006, added a new southern terminus at Puente Verde. The extension included a viaduct above the median of Los Manglares Avenue. A busway was also added to the road at time of construction.
Despite disappointing ridership (the lowest of all rapid transit options in the city), it still serves an important function, linking the University of Todos Santos to other important transit hubs. It is so linked with the University that most locals simply refer to it as the "Línea Uni".
    -- ABOUT THE STATIONS & TUNNELS --
Puente Verde Station: This understated surburban station provides easy access to several hiking trails in the Puente Verde hills. It has a park and ride lot, but no bus connection.
Los Manglares station: Situated on the grassy causeway that separates the barrio Los Manglares from Puerto Nuevo, this station is almost exclusively used by local commuters.
University Station: This station, though often lampooned by locals for its hideous architecture (it's little more than a block of concrete hidden under the grimy TS-1), nonetheless provides easy access to the University of Todos Santos, the Mall of Todos Santos, the metro Blue Line and 2 bus lines.
Gabriel García Márquez Library Station: Named for the adjacent university library, this station provides the best access to the campus. Some say the eponymous author wrote a short story involving the station, in which a dead macaw haunts Orange Line riders in an attempt to return to life and reunite with its mate. Unfortunately, no copy of this story has ever been found.
Vigoreaux Station: This subterranean station is accessed from the eastern side of Luis Vigoreaux avenue. Its interior features vintage posters for some of the most beloved movies produced at the studios, including 1941's "How Green Was My Mogote" and 1979's "Mad Maximiliano".
Santa Clara tunnel: This bored tunnel was one of two proposals to run a rail line through Santa Clara, the other being an indirect street-level route looping north. Despite its higher cost, the tunnel proposal won out after years of debate, in particular due to the efforts of the nearby Cineisleño Studios which wanted to ensure minimal noise near their productions. The section of tunnel running under the studios is fitted with a noise-dampening superdense aerogel organic carbon fiber hyperweave wrap, reducing train rumble to a measly -69dB and delighting the city's half-dozen sound recordists.
Santa Clara station: This multilevel transfer station connects to the Metrobús BRT system and two standard bus lines, bringing the districts of Santa Clara and San Juan to the rest of the city.
Alegría del Alma tunnel: This cut-and-cover tunnel predates the Orange Line by more than three decades. It was originally built as part of the massive redevelopment of the town of Alegría del Alma from a blighted former industrial hub to the dense mix of homes and businesses it is today. A combination of old industrial rail right-of-way and new construction was used to create three rail corridors--one being this tunnel--which met at the then-new Todos Santos Central Station.
Todos Santos Central Station: Though quite far from both the Old Town and Downtown of Todos Santos, this open-air station nonetheless serves as the heart of its transit network. Purposely overbuilt for its grand opening in 1966, it originally served a single intercity line. Today, it serves 3 of the city's 4 metro lines, two suburban lines, the Metrobús and standard bus routes. It has a massive park and ride lot, often used by locals commuting to the southern parts of town.

    -- ABOUT THE SERIES --
On the north shores of this tropical island sprawls the metropolis of Todos Santos. In this series, I attempt to build a Latin American city that roams from the Old World casco viejo to the car-centric urbanism of the New World, primarily drawing inspiration from San Juan, Puerto Rico. I hope you’ll join me on this high-detail exploration of all the things that make us love cities.

Hey! I hate to keep teasing this, but the next build videos are still in progress (maybe there are some hints about the build in this video...) but in the meantime here's another first person ride. Like last time, there's some lore in the description in case you're interested.
Also, RUclips compression absolutely nuked the first 1 second of this video. Unfortunately nothing I can do about that.

Doubling this praise; there is not a single other (Not that it's a competition!) city I've seen on reddit, the workshop, or youtube that comes close to the level of detail, purpose, and real-world-attention that you've applied to Todos Santos.@@PetrichorBuilds

Thanks! I set simulation speed to 0.02 in the PlayIt mod and then sped up the footage in editing. The original footage is painfully choppy haha
