YUMMM!! This looks sooooo good!! Hello from Akron, Ohio!! Thank you Missy for sharing your recipe!! I’ve been looking for a really good tasting recipe for chicken and dumplings and this one sure fits the bill!! May God keep on blessing you, your family and your channel. 🥰
My favorite meal! My father was from Arkansas & he learned to cook watching the "method" system as you said. His chicken & dumplings are best I've ever had. Mine are good (flat cut dumplings) but not like my Daddy's.
My father's mother was born in SE LA in 1887 and this is her recipe. My mom would let them set on a linen cloth to rest after she had cut them and would give each dumpling a stretch before dropping into the broth. We NEVER had leftovers. Thank for sharing.
I remember my grandmother back in Vermont used to make these for me when I was 6-7 years old pretty much exactly the way you did. that was 58 years ago and now thanks to you I have no dam choice but to make myself a batch today. lol, nice video loved watching your work.
Thank you, Missy. I boiled a whole chicken and made a stew of carrots, onions, and potatoes. I sure wanted to make dumplings. I haven't bought flour in years. I will be doing this. It's comfort food. 🌹
just found your videos :) and you are a doll ! I was raised on beans and cornbread and aint no better eatin :) I am from southern W.V. ...NOT TO FAR FROM YOU
After boiling my chicken fill my pot back up about 2" from the top with water mixed with granulated knorr bouillon gives it a wonderful color 2 slices carrots are tasty and gives character and parsley flakes. Love your recipe and stories. Thanks from L.A. lower AL.
I hear that accent. I’m in California, but I lived in North East Kentucky for awhile. I lived in Winchester, under 5,000 in the early 80’s. We also lived in Corinth 210 people back then. Then we moved to New Columbus Kentucky 32 people. Could barely breath so many people lol. It was beautiful and I ate my weight in wild blackberries. I was Blue and Red from the berries and blood trying to get through those thorns. The only thing I hatted was Chiggers. Those stupid bugs made me itch so bad, but it was worth it to be out there. Love your dumpling recipe. I enjoy both flat and fluffy. Thanks
From Georgia and we always eat what youre calling flat dumplings but just said chicken and dumplings because thats all we ever really knew of. I have since found out about drop dumplings but i never remember eating or seeing any growing up. We just had them in strips or flat as you say.
I make strip dumplings for all our church pot luck dinners, I watched your video and am amazed that we make dumplings the same way, I will heat my chicken box broth from now on
My dad's family is from S.W. Pennsylvania, in the foothills of the Alleghenys. We called these "slippery dumplings." I've lived in North Central Hardin county KY for 50 years now.
My mother was from southern Indiana she would use the Cisco and chicken broth for making her dumplings and we would eat them over mash potatoes DELICIOUS DOESNT GET ANY BETTER

Missy I love both
This is the exact way I make mine! I use a pizza slicer to cut mine.
My dad's family is from S.W. Pennsylvania, in the foothills of the Alleghenys. We called these "slippery dumplings."

What side dishes do you fix when you're having dumplings? Do you have bread? Thanks!
I’ve never had flat dumplings. My Mamaw and Momma made fluffy ones.
How did you get them to thicken up so much? They look absolutely delicious.
Growing up my mom made egg noodles and cooked them in the broth like you're doing
I favor fluffy, but I will eat them any way I can get them. 😂 Probably my favorite food.
Do you show us how to make drop dumplings? My husband likes those not the flat rolled out kind.
Cracker Barrel is the restaurant that you Didnt mention 😊
lol
Looks good...I use a pizza cutter cut my on strips
I am from Leslie county and I have family in Ulysses creek. We had our home coming then to? We may be from the same family’s
Maybe so!!!
How do you make your dumplings?
I got the best recepie
Flat? LOL thats called chicken noodle soup in Michigan. No baking powder though.
Our noodles only contain all purpose flour and eggs . No milk or broth in the dough.
