Thank you, from my fish room channel in Chicago! Appreciate the confirmation on double boil, something I do as well. In two weeks that cube will look incredible - I know it :)
Glad to hear you also prepare them this way, I’ve played around with a few different ways and this seems to be the best. Thank you I’ll be sure to share an update photo for you to check out soon
In all river and freshwater systems, all over the world, leaves form the primary food source for countless organisms and make a massive difference in the wellbeing of your fishtank inhabitants
I dont know if theyre easy to purchase in the UK, but live oak leaves are great for these nano aquariums because the leaves are so small. I really enjoy seeing a mature planted botanical method aquarium with plants popping up amongst the leaf litter.
You are absolutely correct I did use them in that tank and also with my chilli rasbora and halfbeaks. I managed to get hold of some last year but I’ve ran out now and they haven’t had them available for a while. I’d like to be able to use them more
Just started using botanicals properly and this is so helpful! Out of curiosity, are those racking units in the video the same kind as sold by G-Rack and Rhino? If so, do you find they have enough structural integrity?

My original racking build video shows black painted MDF boards which quickly bent under the weight so I swapped them out for plywood and this seems to be working perfectly now.
I agree currently, it is hiding some of the plants/detail of the rockwork. I think once the leaves have broken down slightly if anything it’ll be not enough leaves.
Great tips! Thank you, can’t wait to see what the tank looks like in a few weeks

Great stuff as always my friend!
Love the look of the tank!! Thanks for the great info
Thank you, hopefully it continues to develop and mature 🤞
Thank you very much for these precious tips 🙏
Thanks for watching, I’m glad you found it interesting and useful 😁
Good stuff! Those little packets of desiccant work great for keeping botanicals dry! I keep them in with my empty gel caps too.
That’s a great idea! Thanks for sharing your tip ☺️
Love the look at the end! Will provide so much new habitat for the fish to swim through!
Thanks Ben 🙌🏼 botanicals always add so much to a habitat as you know very well 😉
Nice video! Came here on the recommendation from Fish Shop Matt!
Thank you for heading over here from his channel and I’m glad you enjoyed the video ☺️

Too many leaves. You could do with 2/3's less and it would look great
