In a sense, you can really hear the Strong Moral Support of your father shining through tall and proud, chin held high, in loving memory... also very much so it seems in The Long Road! Julian must've been quite a great man to have produced such a mighty fine Englishman of such refined tastes and capacities of Guitar Prowess...and Great Prowess of Guitar Instruction I might add! Thanks for putting all that Heart in your playing man, something Very Epic about each of your Creative Gems, priceless mastery at work! I can't thank you enough for fortifying and bolstering and mastering and maneuvering these abilities, and for revolving and evolving and shining forth this great gift on this epic musical journey you are taking us on. It is really quite vicious in its insistence on absolute precision in composition And performance...Incredible, Thanks! BTW, IF Andy James can outdo himself, he will need every tool at his disposal, thus I say to you, The sixth to eighth hour REM period is Max Master of the Utmost Importance to Creativity and Synthesis of your Chop Shop Lexicon,, etc, etc, etc., no matter your intention.(from Amazon Audible book entitled, Why We Sleep, Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams by Matthew Walker PhD) Experimenting myself, so now I gotta go do a rendition, unravel a few solos over a Practice What You Preach BT Now!

I was lucky enough to meet and spend an evening with your Dad once Andy. I'm so sorry to hear he's gone.
I remember a fair few years ago, going to see Halestorm at the O2 in Boscombe - You were in Sacred Mother Tongue at the time and were supporting Halestorm that night. I remember seeing this guy, much older than the rest of the crowd standing next to me. I was in my thirties, and both of us were surrounded by people in their mid to late teens predominantly, so we got chatting. He tells me excitedly that he's here to see his son play, and we talked throughout a lot of the evening.
I never got to know him well obviously, but I'm struck to this day as to how much of a nice guy he was, and how proud he was of you! (He had a lot of stories of you learning and playing guitar growing up which I won't share here!)
Won't ever forget that night, or your Dad.

This made me cry, not like a little boy whose Mom left him, and was angry at her, but in a sense of pure love for the person who I miss the most in this world.
I clearly don't have the same relationship you did with your Dad, but I feel this way about my Mom. She died 11 months after I got out of the Army, exactly 2 weeks after her birthday. I'm not going to lie, I blamed her for it. She smoked all her life, even when I'd try and encourage her to quit. She beat lung cancer twice, both times, the oncologists warned her that she was increasing her risk with puff she took. Yet, she persisted. It's been a few years, and I've learned it wasn't her fault.

All I can say is ...... Ok I am speechless. I have the same story almost identical except for the fact that you are ten times a better player than me. Loved this song as a kid, was sitting here thinking of my pops who passed two years ago and thought I wonder if I could jam along with that song. Low and behold there's a cover from one of my favorite guitarists and as I read the bio above, it brought emotions I have been hiding because like you, I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for my dad buying me that first guitar and teaching me my first 5 chords. Props to you Andy James for an exceptional cover... or should I say tribute.

It is said that when those we love leave this world, they are gone... but that is incorrect. When those we love leave this world, they leave little parts of their personality, their love, their kindness, and their passion with us. From those parts we grow to better ourselves, and in the end we do them the greatest honor when we acheive everything ever we dreamed of.
When your father bought you that first guitar many moons ago, I doubt he released the greatness you would go on to achieve, and the many lives you would change through a single instrument.
Thank you Mr James for starting a journey that has allowed Andy to share his unique and astonishing gift of music with the world, and thanks to Andy for the music...

It is very unlikely that our lives will ever intersect Andy, but I have to tell you that it is a pleasure for my damaged ears (since I use headphones and the music comes to me not as pure as I would like) to hear how you interpret, your creative capacity is brutal, your mind speaks while you remain silent and let all that feeling flow over the strings of your guitar. Thank you so much. Richard L.

He smiled and said I'm Andy's Dad. We talked for a short while more then chilled as his son played. He was clearly very proud.

I just want to tell you how great and amazing MUSICIAN YOU ARE. When you mix technic and sensibility, the result is YOU!!!!
I've seen a lot of incredible guitarists and very, very close. You remind me a guitarist that when I heard him for the very first time he blew my mind and never stop listening him. The song "shape of things" the guitarist, GARY MOORE. THE SPEED YOU HAVE IN THE MIDDLE AND RING FINGER ARE LIKE HIS. THAT, IS NOT EASY. YOU ARE SPECIAL. SOMETHING THAT I REALLY LOVE IS YOUR INITIALS OR LOGO IN THE GUITAR'S ARM.
I, WILL FOLLOW YOU AND I HOPE YOU CAN COME TO KNOXVILLE, TN AND.PLAY, AND I WILL BE THERE. I WAS, I AM AND I WILL YOUR FOLLOWER OR FAN. ALL MY BEST TO YOU. KINDEST REGARDS, MARTIN SORDO RIVAS

It’s tough to capture such an emotional vocal performance on a guitar but you crushed it. RIP to your pop.

My brother is learning to play the guitar. The other day he said, "I don't know how the Hell you can play with your pinky". I directed him to an Andy James video and told him he can still shred with minimal pinky usage. Great cover!

After reading that you dedicaded this song to your fathers passing i had to listen to it immediately because my father passed away less than a year ago at the age of 59. The song brought tears and joy to me at the same time. Music is a good way to endure the loss of loved ones. Thank you Andy. You are an amazing musician. \m/
