I want to dedicate this to my 19 year old son. He has fought cancer fire five years now and finally he is losing...he is expected to die within 6 months. I wish my son could Stay, but that isn't going to be the case. It's with tears flowing from my eyes I write this. I love you son. Forever. Hopefully we do indeed get to see each other again.

I feel incredibly lucky to have had many private guitar lessons with Andy, back in 2006-2007, not long before he rose to fame! Being in the same room as Andy playing was an incredible experience. It was held in little cafe,so when i came there and exit the taxi car i recognized his style from the couple of notes when i was at street,then i intered cafe and was him-this changed my life forever.Great guitar player!Love him so much!

I was lucky enough to meet and spend an evening with your Dad once Andy. I'm so sorry to hear he's gone. I remember a fair few years ago, going to see Halestorm at the O2 in Boscombe - You were in Sacred Mother Tongue at the time and were supporting Halestorm that night. I remember seeing this guy, much older than the rest of the crowd standing next to me. I was in my thirties, and both of us were surrounded by people in their mid to late teens predominantly, so we got chatting. He tells me excitedly that he's here to see his son play, and we talked throughout a lot of the evening. I never got to know him well obviously, but I'm struck to this day as to how much of a nice guy he was, and how proud he was of you! (He had a lot of stories of you learning and playing guitar growing up which I won't share here!) Won't ever forget that night, or your Dad.
This made me cry, not like a little boy whose Mom left him, and was angry at her, but in a sense of pure love for the person who I miss the most in this world. I clearly don't have the same relationship you did with your Dad, but I feel this way about my Mom. She died 11 months after I got out of the Army, exactly 2 weeks after her birthday. I'm not going to lie, I blamed her for it. She smoked all her life, even when I'd try and encourage her to quit. She beat lung cancer twice, both times, the oncologists warned her that she was increasing her risk with puff she took. Yet, she persisted. It's been a few years, and I've learned it wasn't her fault.

When those we love leave this world, they leave little parts of their personality, their love, their kindness, and their passion with us. From those parts we grow to better ourselves, and in the end we do them the greatest honor when we acheive everything ever we dreamed of. When your father bought you that first guitar many moons ago, I doubt he released the greatness you would go on to achieve, and the many lives you would change through a single instrument. Very nice playing as usual. I lost my dad 2 years ago & have just started to relearn guitar playing after a 20y long break. Still using the Ibanez Roadstar II Deluxe my dad bought for me in 1985.
It is very unlikely that our lives will ever intersect Andy, but I have to tell you that it is a pleasure for my damaged ears (since I use headphones and the music comes to me not as pure as I would like) to hear how you interpret, your creative capacity is brutal, your mind speaks while you remain silent and let all that feeling flow over the strings of your guitar.
