When it comes to opera, the judges are completely outclassed. They're masters with their instruments. And it is sad that opera isnt widely accepted in the mainstream.
I won't say that opera is not accepted it's mostly cause it's not widely popular as other genres and not a lot of people sing opera 🤷
It is getting better since Pavarotti sang Nessum Dorma at one of the World Cups - soccer I think, I am not into sport. I don't think it will ever take off fully for the younger ones, not enough for them to sit through an entire opera, definitely not Wagner's Ring Cycle (I couldn't sit through the hours and hours of that either - not my cup of tea, but Madame Butterfly is one I have seen and I loved the music and knew the story which helps) but they do appreciate some of the more popular arias and fully appreciate the voices singing those arias and the training that has gone into those voices. I watch a rapper's surprised face when he heard Pavarotti sing Nessum Dorma and he appreciated it and judging by his facial expressions liked it also. There will always be those that like the full opera and those that do not.

It's not as well known and most auditions I have heard that were opera, or just something other than the normal mainstream music they keep saying that they are good, but they never choose them

Indeed. So many juges are wrong about the paternity of # songs, like All by myself from E. Carmen. Most say by C Dion and so and so. Bottom of line, WE are all not the one who knows it all.

She didn't had very good control probably that's why judges didn't turn she was hitting high notes but was struggling in transitions

The reason the judges don’t turn for opera singers is because they don’t know how to teach them. Especially the level on which the first guy was.

Rise Up from the Netherlands by far was the best rendition and most moving performance.
Nessun Dorma afterward was the best classical.
Both artists were WONDERFUL!!!
My Way was absolutely phenomenal. I absolutely love her range and the emotions that she poured into it. Sinatra would be proud.
I loved the person who sang “Never Enough” they had so much emotion in their voice and it was so controlled and smooth!!! I loved it!

She was slightly off. She just couldn't get on top of the notes. Probably because she was bouncing back and forth in her vocal registers.

The first guy had a stunning voice. I was actually very surprised that Tom did not turn around. Especially coming from a guy who has a stunning voice himself. That he would have appreciated the quality and the hard work that goes into creating a voice so beautiful. That should have been enough for him to turn his chair around.

The 1st guy had to be classically trained probably at least since he was a teenager. This is not a try out for The Voice... this is to get the attention of the best Operas in the world.
I truly hate when judges are "afraid" of turning to a contestant that is clearly off their leagues. Throughout the history of The Voice worldwide, there had been awesome singers left out just because judges wouldn't know how to work with them.
You'd think the producers would catch on and bring in the talent they need to make these shows more enjoyable. It isn't uncommon for a judge to bring in other professionals to help develop their teams.
Budget cuts or something...I don't know but it can be frustrating to watch good performers get nothing from the judges...
Ale Vera , you know I could not have said it better. I don’t sing myself, but I often wondered if that was the case. There have been way to many individuals who had obvious talent , but not get recognized. I do have a background in music, but not singing.

Anyone that can nail fifth element shouldnt have taken so long to turn hitting those notes. Beyond incredible.
Diva Dance is really hard, but there were definitely some rough patches and some of the notes sounded a little wonky to me. If might have just been because I’m not too familiar with the piece, but her low notes were really rough and she lacked control in the staccato. She was able to hit all the notes with clarity, but it just wasn’t “nailed” quite yet. Part of that is just cuz it’s a hard song. Not her fault

That happend on the norwegian the voice for one person who had graduated from some fancy music college. They said it straight to her face that they didnt turn because she was to good, and that it was nothing they could teach her/do for her and that wouldn't make good tv
Also some judges are somewhat prejudiced against classically trained voices because they're not pop and that's what "the masses" want

Unfortunately they need to sell the final product, that's why they don't call vocal coaches or singing teachers that are not famous enough.

It's not funny....its sad. There are male/females that can put these judges to shame but they have to be judged by inferior vocalists. I believe they don't turn because they are threatened.
