No, It is not it completely confuses New guys who are joining DB sphere... First this idiot needs to explain what is the meaning of SQL - Structure query language then break down non-SQL db like no-SQL... I think he needs to learn how to break down information first.
You have explained MongoDB and how other databases work in 18 minutes better than the 5-10 websites I have read this week trying to do this. Thank you so much!
Thanks for this video Caleb. I'm in a full-stack bootcamp at the moment and comparing the lectures provided there to this is night and day. Thanks for the clarity and awesome content. MongoDB is not as scary as I initially thought after this.
Excellent explanation. Your explanation help me understand MongoDB and SQL a lot. Also the example of how it works and insert data on terminal. Really helpful. Thank you so much! Please keep up the good work!
This video is very helpful. I especially appreciate that you took the time to explain what a collection and document is in regards to NoSQL. I have tried other videos but nobody does as good a job as you. Thank you
Caleb, in the MAC os Catalina, Catalina put the operating system and operating system installed applications on their own read-only partition. Neither root nor sudo privileges are going to let you modify it. So how do i go about it?
overall very cool, it's like they have taken concepts of sql, json, and orm and incorporated them all into MongoDB, so you get all of that as one seamless experience.
thank you for this short video, wasn't sure if something like mongodb was the right database for my job (since I never worked with it, just heard about it) and your video helped me decide :)
I'm very interested in the world of NoSQL. I'm already seeing a ton of job postings where NoSQL is a priority if not a requirement. Please make more videos!
Great job! this is really going to help in bringing this option into our company. Just a note: when you query the database you should have mentioned that it is case-sensitive.
Hey Caleb, nice video. Only thing I found a bit annoying was the camera auto-focusing ever other second, really put a strain to my eyes when watching the video. Else, a really good video.
Thanks Caleb!! The video was simple and clear enough to make me understand the basics, me having no background in programming. Keep it simple!! Do you have videos on the functionalities which MongoDB provides and are used by cloud service providers? Would be really helpful.
I've not seen any case studies of mongo used at scale. In fact I know companies that have tried it and gone back to RDBMS because it cannot handle scale. I'm talking systems that need to ingest 10M+ rows *a day*.
love your videos.. the way you simplify the topics is amazing...When there is a topic I don't understand, I cross my fingers that I will find one of your videos to explain it.. Thank you very much.. Keep going and never stop
You should work on a video with the actual scripts with fields to insert the typed in data to mongo and also how to extract mongodb data via web instead of a terminal.Fire video by the way !! being using the structured method for YEARS (MySQL) so considering trying MongoDB for a project idea that this should fit perfectly with.
Thanks for the video. It's helpful to me as a noobie to NOSQL. Question: Say that when I first entered documents into my collection I used "first_name'. But some time later I starter using "First_Name" instead. And even later I changed it again to "FirstName". How do I find all of these? And how do I fix them? Thanks!
Can you also teach us on how to deploy Flask app with the integration of MongoDB? Your videos are awesome, very engaging and enrich with knowledge yet so concise.
A cluster is when you have multiple database servers operating as one. You would have something that can copy the data out to each one when storing it, and can piece it together - a little from each one - on retrieval for better performance. There is usually a module where you have to assign your node (server) names, so it knows where the data is distributed. If you know what RAID 1 (mirroring) is, instead of using disks on the same server, it is using a database instance on different servers. But each of the cluster's nodes can be accessed and show you all of the data. The idea is also so that if any node goes down, your system doesn't - the data can still be retrieved from one of the other nodes and the application stays functional.
Hey caleb can you give me some guidance regarding right type of db for shopping cart ? What are the pro and cons of using mongodb over postgersql ? Thanks
thank you for the informational video. I have a quick question, how do I track what db, collection and documents were added? is there any audit trail that helps me audit my DB and collections?
A well structured video of a Non Structured Database. Excellent work.
...or "structered" as the case may be.
semi-structured database
sorta structured database
"heheh"
No, It is not it completely confuses New guys who are joining DB sphere... First this idiot needs to explain what is the meaning of SQL - Structure query language then break down non-SQL db like no-SQL... I think he needs to learn how to break down information first.

Best explanation I’ve seen so far. Big yes to a video series
dude. you're amazing. the way you explain details is perfect.
I am newbie on MongoDB, this video help me to understand the concept. Thanks for share.
This video is very helpful. I especially appreciate that you took the time to explain what a collection and document is in regards to NoSQL. I have tried other videos but nobody does as good a job as you. Thank you
Excellent!! It provides what is needed to get started with MongoDB quickly. Thank you
One of the best NoSQL explanation on the internet.

YOU are a good teacher. Very nice tutorial.
Great presentation, Caleb; mixed a focus on MongoDB as well as some agnostic "No SQL DB" terminology definition. Thanks so much for sharing!
Excellent explanation and Introduction. This is definitely the way to go for the future. Imagne your data structures need changing in quick time.
I'm learning this now at a 6 month boot camp, great video.
The example is really clear. Super helpful
overall very cool, it's like they have taken concepts of sql, json, and orm and incorporated them all into MongoDB, so you get all of that as one seamless experience.
I'm not a technical person and this was easy for me to understand. Thank you.
Great video on Mongo DB! I got up and running with it in no time. You are a great instructor. Yes, please do a video series on Mongo DB!
thank you for this short video, wasn't sure if something like mongodb was the right database for my job (since I never worked with it, just heard about it) and your video helped me decide :)
Don't worry about the spelin'! Presentation is great. Brilliant clear explanation up front about document databases.
Thanks for an actual good short tutorial.
Excellent work Caleb Curry Thank you.
Good video! On a side note, I have never seen ads as often as in this vid. I think it was 6 ad breaks in 18 minutes. Pretty hardcore by youtube
Excellent explanation, thank you Caleb!
Thank you Sir Caleb Curry. I appreciate you.
I'm very interested in the world of NoSQL. I'm already seeing a ton of job postings where NoSQL is a priority if not a requirement. Please make more videos!
Excellent! Understood NoSQL today!
Caleb is the Bob Ross of instructional code videos!
Man, your explanation is smooth. Thanks for the video❤️
Excellent video, finally understood what mongoDB is.
great video. i felt like the camera kept strugling to focus on the board and off. would be nice if you can just fix the focus.
really a nice sharing. i really enjoyed the way how this introduction is delivered. fun and clear. easy to understand as well...great job!
Awesome introduction of MongoDB in less than 18mins. Thank you.
Well indeed within 18 minutes I understand it 100%. Thank you
The best Introduction!
Thanks buddy. It was pretty easy to understand with your examples and explanation. It was indeed helpful.
very good presentation, given nicely difference between structured and unstructured data bases
i love your voice, its pretty calm no rushing just straight to the point!
Clear and concise primer for the right audience, thank you.
Great job! this is really going to help in bringing this option into our company. Just a note: when you query the database you should have mentioned that it is case-sensitive.
Nice Presentation!
Its was easy to understand!
Excellent work. Plz make more videos on Mongodb. Thnx
yes please do series on mongo db and also include windows installation, i found it very tedious :p
Hey Caleb, nice video.
Only thing I found a bit annoying was the camera auto-focusing ever other second, really put a strain to my eyes when watching the video.
Else, a really good video.
Great intro! Thanks for sharing!
straight to the point..very good presentation
I think you have to include the distributed nature of all parallel databases, and their "Location awareness".
Very well done. I understood every work. Thank you.
Your explanation is very clear about nosql.
Can you enlighten me more on the specific instances when MongoDB is more preferable
Excellent explanation. Really helpful. Please keep up the good work!
Excellent explanation .... thank you
Great flow. Info is easily passed from your head, through my monitor and right into my head. Thx for the vid
Hi Caleb, thanks for the video, I am very new to databases, if i understood correctly, DB in MONGODB are in JSON format rather than a table? Thanks
exactly basically the document is a javascript object with key and value pairs
Thanks Caleb!! The video was simple and clear enough to make me understand the basics, me having no background in programming. Keep it simple!!

very good presentation, thank you !
Need more video so that mongodb can understand like what are the command to use
Your explanations are clear and to the point, i just subbed. thank you for your work
Those random laughters are the best.
The color of the board is so cool
Your video was really good and understanding, If you have any video about MongoDB in depth, please upload that also...Thank You
that was very nice intro! thanks
Thanks!
what is the difference between "db.CollectionName.insert()" and "db.CollectionName.insertOne" .. ?
Really good content for MongoDB beginners.
Can you also teach us on how to deploy Flask app with the integration of MongoDB? Your videos are awesome, very engaging and enrich with knowledge yet so concise.
Excellent work. Love to see more in a new video in a structured way; or a video about concepts that one needs to learn to master Mongodb
Thanks for Creating this video, it is really easy to understand the value of Mongo DB
You rock Caleb!
Thank you very much this was very clearly explained
caleb i always appreciate your videos. you are super approachable, knowledgeable, and fun to watch. not stuffy like so many others. :)
Excellent explanation, thank you so much Caleb! Can't imagine it being done any better.
Thank you for taking the time, to simply this journey to introduction to MongoDB. Very well done. Looking forward to more content
simple and smooth a perfect overview thanks caleb :)
Nice overview - thanks, I think I learned a lot of fundamental premises and some key details.
I felt like I want to leave a comment here: you are absolutely great on putting this together. ..thank you dude...:)
Best tutorial I have ever enjoyed...

@@navyjax2 thanks for taking the time to explain in detail :)
Make a video series of that. Your didactic is great.
Thanks for creating this nice video with all details and easy to understand.
That was a cool video. Thanks Caleb, Great !
Great job, Caleb. We need more of MongoDB.
So in this shell..a typo creates an object?
What are the cases when Mongodb is preferred over MySQL db?
Thanks very helpful! Really enjoying mongodb. I’m happy I did a lot of json work on python data projects cause it’s easier to understand
Really awesome intro. I am really looking forward to more videos on MongDB from you. Please keep it coming.
Manual camera focus, man. The constant focus shift is headache inducing
I also had same thoughts
Hey caleb can you give me some guidance regarding right type of db for shopping cart ? What are the pro and cons of using mongodb over postgersql ? Thanks
thank you for the informational video. I have a quick question, how do I track what db, collection and documents were added? is there any audit trail that helps me audit my DB and collections?
Really helps! Thanks!
nice video it was worth it!! thanks
I love your presentation! It's definitely a high-quality video! thanks!
