Killer Footage...but I'm still fiending for you & Estevan to post up that Montana Trip.
I used to live a few hundred yards from the Bitterroot River & fished it daily.
It really is the The "Last Great Place".
    God Bless The GSF!!

No Californians are going to decimate that place with illegal lures, most of the fishery abides by fly and barbless lures. And jigs would definitely disrupt the environment with scent.

@@JesusLORD690 A Micro Jig w/a Single Barbless Hook is no different than a Small Wooly Bugger or Streamer. And as far scent is concerned, I don't use it but it's fully legal. The Montana Regulations read:
ARTIFICIAL LURE: Any man-made lure (including flies) that imitates natural bait. Artificial lures may have a scent infused or applied. Artificial lures do not include fish eggs, any natural or artificial food such as corn and marshmallows, any products that are derivatives of natural foods, any chemically treated or processed natural bait such as salted minnows, nor any artificial dough, paste or edible baits.
My friends in Montana were more likely to bend the rules than my California friends.
I admit, I probably shouldn't have used Rapalas as much as I used to because they do a bit of lip damage, but I crimped my hooks & can still count all the trout I killed on one hand. In fact, I only recall killing one Westslope and that's because it was just too exhausted to revive. We tried though, for 20 minutes until I was finally forced to BBQ it that evening.
We're not Violators, We are protectors of the fisheries who also hate to see people wrecklessly killing fish and just letting 'em float down river.
I feel like a complete loser when I kill a fish.
Even the time I was so drunk that I stuck an M80 in a Carp....lol.
      God Bless!!

I appreciate it 🙏. We didn’t get to the Bitterroot on this trip but it sounds amazing. Im working on the footage as I type and it should be out Monday 9/30. We filmed alot so its taking some time 🤘

@@JesusLORD690i appreciate the comment but thats just not accurate. We always check local regulations anywhere we fish and all the waters we fished allow conventional fishing. The only difference between an artificial fly and an artificial jig is whatever the fish decide to bite on any given day. Fly fishing and conventional fishing are simply two different methods for accomplishing the same goal. One method is no better or worse than the other. Oh, and GSF mini jigs and minnows do not have any scent 🤘

That sux. I heard they may be close to draining Panguitch to deal with a chub problem 😬

Don't know if they would drain it rather than poison the lake? Last year wasn't bad for chubs but this year they are everywhere. Going to build a new dam below the old dam. Best fishing is the middle of November.

@@gladegoodrich2297 yeah its a tough call for sure. I definitely have respect for Utah as they actively manage their waters. I Just wish California would do more of that

Did you try 1/32 ounce Spartan Minnows in that water that was 4 to 6 feet deep?

    • @SeaSpankerOutdoors
      @SeaSpankerOutdoors  День назад

Good catch! I forgot to mention that. Yes I did and I worked the 1/32 every way I knew how and no dice. Somthing about the way the 1/16 was swimming was what they wanted. Usually its 1/32 in those conditions is the ticket 🤷🏼‍♂️
