Hi..that XL2 software, can it be used with a single class 1 SPL meter? To measure airborne sound insulation between two rooms, I needed a number for a wall and also an accoustic door say for example in an auditorium, I'm in Australia.
Hi Kasparov 9, yes you may use the Sound Insulation Reporter software with only 1 pc. XL2. You then just have to measure twice, e.g. first in the sending and then in the receiving room. The PC software will consequently calculate the required results.
Thankyou and what does that cost? Also I just want to be able to measure the noise reduction between rooms to give the wall a rating and also for an accoustic door, I read ISO but its complicated and hard to understand, is there somewhere to leaen what to do step by step that is easy to follow? Im from Australia. But have already purchased a class 1 sound level meter and was looking at getting dodec speaker in future with amp. Any help would be appreciated.
RT60 calculations are meaningless in a small acoustical space dominated by specular reflections where statistical calculations/conditions do not exist.
