I am so enjoying your vlogs lately! While I do like your makeup tutorials, I don’t wear much makeup and certainly not daily. But lately it’s been fun to see your new home, how you are redoing it inside and out. I like seeing the events in your town and now in Asheville. The Biltmore estate reminds me of the many DuPont family estates in my area outside Philadelphia. I just love touring those. Thanks and keep these little travel vlogs coming. 😊
Such a fun video Kimberly. I don’t go anywhere anymore, so these little trips make me feel like I have gone on a trip. Thank you so much, and hug Lucy for me.
So much fun drinking my Sunday morning coffee while watching your trip to Asheville, NC. I'm glad you included your feeling of possibly going home in the morning. So glad you stayed and had an enjoyable time. We all get that feeling from time to time and it's great to see that you slept on it and started fresh in the morning.
I agree about the prices going up for AirBNB. The cleaning fees and the “service fees” make me rethink whether I want an AirBNB or a hotel. If I’m not planning on cooking and I’ll be out and about most of the time, a hotel will do the job. I just booked an AirBNB and couldn’t believe the fees!!!
If you ever plan to go back to Asheville try to visit The Omni Grove Park Inn. It’s just so lovely and the view from the Sunset Terrace Restaurant is absolutely beautiful.
I hope you got an Annual Pass? The Christmas decorations are phenomenal. Candle lit Christmas trees!! Also, the National Gingerbread House Competition is at the Grovepark Inn in Asheville. FREE!! The most wonderful Gingerbread Houses. Also the Pisgah Inn is a lovely place for lunch the views are stunning. Brevard is a town that is 30 minutes from Asheville. Sweet town with a toy store named OP Taylor’s and an old fashioned soda shop. It’s like a step back in time. One more place…Pretty Place in South Carolina. Truly divine.
I love your videos💗. My husband and I retired in February and have been Airbnb-ing ever since! Sold everything and just traveling and loving it. We’ve visited Ashville and the Biltmore at Christmas time, absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for taking us along ❤
I’m so glad you got to experience some of Asheville. The river arts district is a wonderful place to visit as well as Dupont State Park and some other areas that have beautiful waterfalls. I definitely recommend a week or more here to visit and see everything. My husband and I come down twice of year and have an annual pass to the Biltmore. The first week of November they start decorating for Christmas. this is a beautiful time and you can do a candlelight tour in the evening. They also have local choirs and pianists playing Christmas music. We’ve been here for Mother’s Day and they’ve had local musicians on the property playing. The roses are in full bloom at this time and smell heavinly .We went in early spring but called first to ask when the tulips will be blooming and that has to be the most beautiful time in the gardens. Theyalso have a local Arboretum close by with gardens and they have a bonsai garden, and trails to hike. The Grove Park Inn is a great place to check out.Their breakfast at the Blueridge in the inn has the best selection, their grits are my favorite! This is also where they host the gingerbread House competition on HGTV and you can go and check out all the gingerbread houses on display. Thanks for sharing your adventure,I’m glad you stayed. I also forgot to mention Woolworth walk. it’s an old Woolworths store downtown it still has the original soda fountain where you can get cream sodas milkshakes sandwiches and soups. The rest of the store is section out for local artist of all different types.😊❤️
I live about 30 minutes from Asheville and love this area of NC. Come back and enjoy all of the gorgeous hiking and waterfalls, as well as the great food and nice people.
Fall is the most popular time of year in the mountains of NC due to the beautiful colors and cooler temps😊. Enjoy the mountains then give Charleston a visit❤️
I would visit Hendersonville next time. It is smaller and very cute! Plus they're got some excellent waterfalls and hiking. It's not "over the top" like Asheville!!!
Welcome to my hometown! You barely scratched the surface of Asheville. Will give you ideas for your next visit if you want. The town truly changes with the seasons, you hit a in between time. Enjoy the south.
Retired Navy; traveled the world while active duty. Live in a small town in North Carolina for almost 30 years now. And YES, I feel anxious when I travel to big cities with lots of traffic. I do it cause I still love to travel but it's always nice to come back to my small town... Life is just easier, simpler and slower in a small town. Thought the Biltmore Estate was stunning. Equally stunning is a drive through the mountain areas for the fall scenery.
I’m glad you enjoyed visiting our great state! Asheville and the mountain areas are especially beautiful in the fall. The Biltmore Estate is a great place to visit.
I went there in Oct.1987 on my honeymoon. It was beautiful.loved it there. We stayed at the Grove Park Inn. Amazing place. The built more still looks the same, such a gorgeous place. They used to make there own wine then not sure if they do now. But OMG loved it there. I'm from Massachusetts. Glad you enjoyed your trip. It's the best place to visit.
It has been years since I have been to the Biltmore house. The beauty inside and out was just stunning. I have tried to get back for years. One of theses days!
Delightful vlog, Kimberly! I understand your jolt at feeling thrust into chaos after settling in to a slower paced, relaxed lifestyle environment. The frenetic vibe of some places really upends me. The gardens were glorious and serene and that market you hit at the end was a gem. Thanks for taking us along on a fun journey.
I am just north of Asheville in Madison County.Since you like to kayak, next summer come back and check us out. We are right on the French Broad River. My favorite time at Biltmore is Christmas, worth another trip. Hope you enjoyed yourself.
Loved this video. So glad you went to the Biltmore. I knew you would love it as much as you love gardening and flowers 🌸. It’s also very beautiful at Christmas time Thanks for sharing ❤
I loved Asheville NC. We did 3 mansion tours and of course the Biltmore was the best. Guess in this day and age & being from Los Angeles living in a small town would also suit me just fine at 72 years old.
You are correct, WNC stands for Western North Carolina. That's a neat place to visit! Glad you and Lucy enjoyed your trip! Also, there is a Home Goods in Greenville SC.
I can so relate to your experience. I spent the majority of my life in a large metropolitan area and five years ago retired and moved to a quaint small town in NC. When I go back to visit family I don’t know how I ever dealt with traffic and congestion and just the busy pace of life. I also have visited Asheville a few times, always in the Spring and the Biltmore Gardens are spectacular with all the tulip gardens in full bloom. I will be visiting again this year in mid October and hope all the mums will be blooming. Fall is my favorite time of the year and mums are my favorite Fall plant. Will check out that farmers’ market too. Thanks for sharing your latest adventure!
You are an inspiration definitely. I loved asheville. We visited in late March. It was beautiful. The mountains are beautul. The estate was lovely. The food was great. I am from Florida se we thought it was beautiful. I love these vlogs more than makeup. I find my taste in RUclips videos are changing. Keep them coming.
For an AIR BNB pet friendly for under a hundred dollars with a fenced yard is incredible. I know it’s not fancy but I think you lucked out. You are right the prices have increased incredibly. We live on a lake and the house next to use is an air bnb. They rent it for $400 and above per night.
We visited Asheville a few years ago. We stayed outside of the city in a friends vacation house and loved it. It was in the country, and wild turkeys wandered through the yard. It’s a beautiful area. We are more into nature and hiking than city life. We didn’t care for Asheville itself, but loved Biltmore house.
I’m so thrilled that you visited Asheville! It’s one of my favorite cities. Like you, I hadn’t been until I moved to the south. And, like you, a lot of my first visit was spent at the Biltmore, which is a spectacular place! I hope you visit again and spend more time exploring the city, as it’s so cool, eclectic, artsy and funky. I especially think you’d enjoy a hop on,, hop off bus tour, walking around the arts district and maybe even a nighttime cemetery tour. I know it’s most-likely too soon for you to want to go back towards the end of October. But the fall colors are absolutely amazing and spending a few hours driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall is something you won’t soon forget! I absolutely relate to being surprised about feeling overwhelmed at things that you used to wouldn’t have given a second thought to and I’m so glad you didn’t go back home. Thanks for bringing us with you on your adventure!
I really enjoyed this video. I have been to the Biltmore about 14 years ago. Now you make me want to go back. My daughter & her husband are moving to North Carolina next year. So I am sure we will. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Kimberly, thank you for sharing and taking all of us along with you!!! What an adventure!!! I would never have seen any of this, if you hadn’t shared 💕💕💕.
Love this video. Thank you for your honesty about feeling a little anxious. It helps us to realize it is normal sometimes to be uncomfortable, but also not to give up too soon. Love your sweet Lucy, and your love of nature. The Biltmore reminds me of the book the secret garden. Thank you for another great video. Can’t wait for the next one.
I loved the Biltmore….it is amazing and quite interesting. If you get the chance….you would enjoy heading over towards Gatlinburg and see Cades Cove….when the trees are changing it’s gorgeous!! That area is lovely to visit. Some nice art in the area too!
I love Asheville. My aunt lived there and as a kid, we went camping all over the mountains in western NC. My dad liked to fish there. If you haven't read it, you might enjoy Anderson Cooper's book on his family. I have been reading it, and it is a great book. Have fun!!!
Hi Kimberly, Just wanted to tell you I ordered that Venus 3 piece cozy waffle lounge outfit & I love it! It went on sale & I ordered 2 more for gifts ! Thank you for showing it to us!💕
You are correct about the name of the market. On the weekends many more farmers come in and set up. Everything from crafts to the usual farmer’s market.
Kimberly... You are SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH!!!! I love your enthusiasm and your adventurous trips and lifestyle. Can't wait for the next video!! Thake good care of yourself and Lucy and Dexter. You are a GREAT family!!!!
Good morning Kimberly. Thank you for a little Sunday adventure. I had a trip to Asheville when I was younger but don’t remember much. I do remember mountains and greenery. The Biltmore estate seems like a wonderful adventure/history lesson. Southern California felt like a small town when I relocated from New York. It is rapidly becoming more like Los Angeles. It is especially noticeable by the traffic! I am glad you were able to stay and share the fabulous photography.
Fun trip! I live in Blairsville Ga so if you ever get over this way we're in the N Ga mountains to stay on Hwy 515 and you'll see a lot of pretty sights. Thanks for taking us along.
Agree with you about Florence in February, I went this last and the weather was great and it was so NOT crowded. The weekend it picks up a bit, but a very nice time to be there and I also did a rental apartment though VRBO that was very nice and the host was super friendly and helpful. Italians make you feel like you're a long lost cousin.
Thank you for sharing, miss the beauty of the mountains over there. The WNC reminds me of the DC Eastern Market but that is smaller than what you showed. Your coverage of the gardens etc was wonderful. I lived near the coast of NC and miss that vacation vibe I had everyday. The Tryon Palace has amazing gardens like that. Good to see Lucy and she is getting her travel badges going with Mom. Thank you for the staycation.
NC native here. We call Asheville “Little Portland”. It’s a cute and quirky little town. Last time I was there I saw a nun riding a unicycle downtown 🤣. Love Biltmore. Been going there since I was a kid. Never been at Christmas but I hope to someday. Glad you enjoyed your trip! You’d probably love Boone and Blowing Rock as well!
I was excited to re-visit Asheville and Biltmore with you. The gardens were my favorite part when I was there. We began to tour the house but I had to bail out half-way when I got overwhelmed by the crowd and the ostentatiousness of that place. Just not my vibe, but still was glad to see it. Asheville is a charming artsy town, but has become an “it” place and now much busier. Loved this blog.
When my late husband and I used to travel to Albuquerque we always stayed in the same Airbnb. One year it was booked, but the owner said if you don't mind paying a bit more my friend is going to Europe and is renting her entire house. It was a 2 bedroom adobe with 2 fireplaces one in the living room and one in the bedroom. She had a separate building we could heck out. She was a potter and did beautiful work. Another friend was taking care of it for her. It was dreamy. The bedroom was all creams & white & the bed was about two feet deep I down comforters and duvets. One of my all time favorite's. There is a very similar market in Little Rock called the River Market when we lived there we went just about every week. My son still lives in a suburb of Little Rock & I finally convinced him to take my grandson to old downtown he's seventeen and never been. They went to the Peabody Hotel to watch the trooping of the 🦆 🦆 🦆's. I had given my grandson some spending money & he treated his father to lunch. They made a day if it looking at Historical homes and the park. My grandson couldn't wait to get home and call me and send me pictures. Now they do a monthly trip to a surrounding area like the Diamond mines and have gotten one small diamond. Hot Springs, Mountain tour. He calls me once a week and has a full scholarship for College. He is studying History, Languages & Ancient Civilisations. He plans on doing his Masters Program in Europe as I am a dual citizen of Germany and we just applied for his. College is so much less expensive. I have taken up so much if your time, but I am a proud Nana!
Loved the video. I know you had a ball. This summer my son went up there and got married and honeymooned, and when they came home he said " that is the most wonderful place, we are moving to Asheville". In 2 weeks they both had a house and a job at the University up there. It's pretty. I love you videos /vlogs , I always feel like I'm right there with you. Have a great week. Oh! We have a Home Goods in Augusta...
Good morning Kimberly . Excellent video with superlative production values and appropriate music . - with content's that inspirational, motivating and heartfelt. That being said, thanks for sharing your tips on how to AirBnb. and have a wonderful Wednesday and an excellent week. 😉😉🌹🌹🌻🌻
I agree. It was so affordable and planned my retirement around travelling using AirBnB but things have certainly changed. They’re as expensive as hotels so I no longer use them.
We moved to North Carolina almost 3½ years ago. We lived in Capitola Ca, right next to Santa Cruz for 47 years. Although my husband was born there, so a few more years for him. While we were waiting for Escrow to close we went to Asheville. To me Asheville felt like a Cross between San Francisco and Santa Cruz. We had gotten to the point where we just wanted to leave Calif because it just wasn't the Calif that we grew up in. So when we got to Asheville I just wanted to go home too. We eat organic and there are a lot of organic restaurants and stores and things like that, so that part was really good. The part of North Carolina where we live, just below Raleigh, there's not a lot of that. We really miss it, but Asheville we just too much like what we left.😁
Love Biltmore! So beautiful! If you love it you need to read the Serafina book series by Robert Beatty. So good. The setting for these books is Biltmore! We were in Asheville in May and I agree the traffic is crazy! We had to go for Blue Ridge Parkway drive.
Good afternoon Kimberly. Love the video and your tour of Asheville. We are traveling to Asheville the end of the month and are very much looking forward to it. If you go back sometime travel over to Black Mountain. It’s not too far and a beautiful area. This is where Billy Graham and his family lived.
Hi Kimberly, I live in Queens N.Y. about 20 mins outside Manhattan but because of traffic it can take over an hour to get into town. There is always traffic on every highway and I've learned to find shortcuts through neighborhoods to avoid it but some days it is so annoying and emotionally draining. My nephew lives just outside of San Francisco and the last time we were there it was horrible in downtown. The homeless situation is dire and it is unsafe after dark and even at Fisherman's Wharf you are assaulted by panhandlers. Thankfully he is moving to Austin Tx in November because home prices are out of control in California. I've always wanted to visit Asheville, Charleston and Savannah so hopefully we will in 2023. Thanks for taking us along and I hope you picked up a few things at that unique farmer's market.

Hello 👋 Beautiful. How are you doing??
I am a Canadian who worked and lived as an RN for 10 years in Asheville…I loved every minute! What a beautiful city, and even more beautiful people!
Fun fun Kimberly. Thank you for taking us along with your adventures. Beautiful architecture and oh so quaint. Safe travels home for you and Lucy Lou.
The Christmas decorations at the Biltmore house are amazing you should plan to see them at some point in time.
Agree! It is FABULOUS, especially at Christmas.
Such a fun video Kimberly. I don’t go anywhere anymore, so these little trips make me feel like I have gone on a trip. Thank you so much, and hug Lucy for me.
The Biltmore Estate is definitely on this girls bucket list.

I know!!
Yes, Western North Carolina Farmer's Market! We buy our Christmas tree there every year!
If you ever plan to go back to Asheville try to visit The Omni Grove Park Inn. It’s just so lovely and the view from the Sunset Terrace Restaurant is absolutely beautiful.
Asheville is beautiful. My mom lived there and I owned her home for several years. I love Asheville so much and miss spending time there.
Thank you for letting us join your adventures. Beautiful
I just love your videos!!! You are my Sunday morning coffee friend.
Go around Christmas and see the poinsettias, absolutely gorgeous!

Kimberly I wanted you to know, I got a message from you saying I won a prize. I know this has been a problem for a lot of people with channels.😟

The one and only time I visited the Biltmore happened to be their first weekend they were decorated for Christmas. It was magnificent!!

You will love the Biltmore! My daughter and her new husband honeymooned near there and visited it! It’s beautiful from what I saw and heard!

Fantastic trip, so happy you took us alone, especially for me in a small country town in
Australia. Pls. don't move.
What a nice place!!! And, WOW to the price!!!
I love this video. Seeing different places. Thanks
Beautiful gardens you toured. ❤
Love Asheville! We did an electric bike tour that was a lot of fun. Enjoy!
I appreciate you sharing this trip with you, particularly your honesty.
Hello 👋 beautiful
Thanks for taking us along. The Biltmore was beautiful but I would personally be more excited about the Farmers Market, lol.
I felt the same way when I was there, just too much for me,
Kimberly…I love your videos! Thank you for this journey!
Thanks for a very relaxing vlog. Assuming you are ok as the vlog came out on time…that’s wonderful.
Hey 👋 dear how are you doing…?..😊
Hello 👋 how are you doing??
You just have to go to the Biltmore at Christmas. AMAZING.
You need to do a nighttime Christmas tour of the Biltmore. Live music makes it magical. Also, the concerts on the terrace are great.
I love the Biltmore Estate and all that area. Enjoy!!!
Love Biltmore! So beautiful! If you love it you need to read the Serafina book series by Robert Beatty. So good. The setting for these books is Biltmore! We were in Asheville in May and I agree the traffic is crazy! We had to go for Blue Ridge Parkway drive.
Hi Kimberly !!!!
So happy to see you had a nice adventure!!
Love your videos!!!!
I love your videos! I love the Biltmore Estate. & yes, u were correct, WNC is Western North Carolina
Wonderful pictures and so nicely put together!
Good afternoon Kimberly. Love the video and your tour of Asheville. We are traveling to Asheville the end of the month and are very much looking forward to it. If you go back sometime travel over to Black Mountain. It’s not too far and a beautiful area. This is where Billy Graham and his family lived.
You are beautiful!! Thanks for sharing!!😊 You are inspiring!!♥️
It is so amazing to go along with you on your adventures! You make me smile!
Hello 👋 beautiful
We live in Waynesville ~ 25 miles west of Asheville. Enjoy 😊
