  • We finally did it. A Brian K. Vaughan book. Which is amazing that it's taken us this long. The guys take a stab at traversing the female landscape with a look at the comic masterpiece: Y The Last Man.
But they don't go it alone. They may just run into another member of the Imperius Rex party along the way... to give a female perspective on the comic, the show, and the progressive nature of the material.
    Hold onto your butts.

One of my first "stumbling across greatness moments" came across volume 1 in my local library as a teen and devoured the series as quick as i could

I thought it was interesting in the comic how they talk about how this one animal learns to do something and then on a remote island the same animal learns the samething. Recently bees in real life learned to sworm a hornet that enters the hive and form a ball around it and vibrate until the hornet heats up and dies from dehydration and over heating. All these bees around the world started doing this and no one knows like how did bees just know to do this. It keeps the hornet from releasing a hormone that tells other hornets to come attack. I thought that story was implying that was the reason for all the men dying at the same time.

That was something I absolutely wanted to touch on, but due to the length of our rambling (I had to cut a whole hour out of this one) it wasn't addressed. Really interesting hive-mind theory.

Amazing episode. I still think you should do a book club for Planetary after Sandman.

We were considering doing a whole podcast on Planetary a while back, every issue gets an episode... unfortunately Ellis turned out to be associated with some pretty awful actions and it kind of killed the drive...

The show has been great so far and I’ve been itching to reread this series. First read through was probably one of the most formative reading experiences for me. Excited to see what they do in the show

I’m wondering when they will introduce altar because I always felt like that was one of the most impactful storylines for me

For sure. And given her role, I could see maybe beefing up her screentime as well.

While I thought the first volume was a bit chaotic in terms of the pacing, I thought that it really hit it's stride by the time that I started reading the second volume, and it was a complete blast from there on. It's hilarious, heartfelt, and even sad at some points. I haven't actually finished the series yet, but I hope to when the time comes.
I must say that it was you guys who gave me the final push to read this series, because I'm often reluctant to touch beloved series because of the gigantic expectations that are behind them, but I'm glad that I got to it when I did. Brian K. Vaughan is just that good man.
    Great video as always guys.

Get in there Stjepan! The Hardcovers are beautiful, but if you're a reader who prefers to be crushed under the weight of the words, I think there's an omnibus that collects the entire series.

Sadly the show did not last long at all but hey at we’ve always got this book and that’s enough but it’s still a shame but then again the show I think didn’t really do it well it was so bleak and depressing where the comic yea it was bleak but it also wasn’t afraid to be a fun story it’s just what I think
