Never knew the background to the Cenotaph so thanks for posting. This year is especially sad as the Veterans cannot march past & each year their numbers fall even further, saying that I'm sure they'll be there in spirit. To those Ladies & Gents of HM Forces who gave their lives for freedom, may you rest in peace. To those who are still with us, thank you for your service - I salute you all (Ex Met plod) 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Its a pity that they didn't mention that its a larger version of the original cenotaph in Southampton commissioned by mayor of the City in 1918 i think it was ....the mayor of London saw it and asked if he could make one for the capital
