  • With this video I want to pay a homage to my car, a Jaguar Ftype, but also make a tribute to all cars in general using the voice of the legendary Top Gear and The Grand Tour presenter Jeremy Clarkson, which voice I got from different clips where he expresses his love for cars.

@@thenotanclan I'm not the one so desperate for attention that I'm replying to a months old comment to a stranger. That's on you poetry boy. As for watching the video, it was due to a binge on clarksons changing presenting style over the years (Even though I sometimes disagree with him, there is no denying his brilliance as a broadcaster and presenter) perhaps that's something you could take on board before your next sub O level florid prose. I made my comment in real time. You took the time out of your life to reply to something you wrote 6 months ago! Fucking tragic mate 😂please reply so I can know you've wasted more of your precious time... If not I'll presume you're pleasuring yourself to the sound of a v8 engine. I am a biker (sorry jezza) and i have a very fast bike. I came behind an F type back on welsh windy roads. I became so intoxicated by the exhaust note on this vehicle (bright orange convertible V6) which was being driven enthusiastically, that i stayed behind it for a long while. Blipping on down changes and roaring back up the gears. What a car, the driver was probable late 60s and was really enjoying himself. Its the only car this has happened to me on.

I don't own an F Type, nor am I even anywhere close to even considering buying such a car and this speech still nearly brings me to tears. My Genesis Coupe makes me smile every time I climb inside and start up its 3.8 V6. She's not perfect, she's not the fastest or the prettiest, she has her issues, but that imperfection is what gives a car a personality its owner can relate with. I love that car and every second spent driving it is another second that I'm truly happy, where all the negatives that may be holding me down vanish in an instance. All there is in that moment is myself, the car, and the road ahead, a lot of the time I don't even know where I'm going, I just drive to drive and see where it takes me. Phenomenal speech from Clarkson and fantastic video, a beautiful F Type as well.

I was like you, thinking that owning a car like this is hardly something I could achieve, but after attending an Aston Martin car meet, I have had a relentless pursuit for nearly a decade to achieve unrealistic financial goals to buy something very special.
Not only have I achieved those goals but I smashed them because I wake up every morning to achieve buying a very special car.
By the way, I’m so glad you enjoy the car you have, you will think of it in years to come and remember it fondly.

It automatic but it was the only one I could afford and then do all the maintenance on soon as I got it. I feel it was worth it. The power, the looks by the jelous and the sound as I accelerate. I miss my old Veloster somewhat but it was time. As a longtime fan of Top Gear and the 3 arguing old men, this also makes me feel something.

After bailing on a Maserati Gran Turismo because across the board, Maseratis got horrendous reviews. So I said to the dealer, here’s what I’m looking for if you come across it…a two seat convertible with some snot to it…white with white interior….and one that DOESN’T fit a hockey bag. The line got quiet for a second and he said, I think I have what you’re looking for. I was in love the instant I saw my albino cat. You don’t see these things coming and going like a Vette or a Porsche… I’ve had Vettes, Audis and have driven Mercedes….this has all I need. I have had more people pull up next to me, back up at a red light to see what it is, more thumbs up and pull overs to let me by. I will never give up my albino cat…you’ll know me when I pass you with a grin like the devil on my face and a peace sign as I sail by……✌️💋

I recently got an XKR and I've never had so many people let me out when turning out of parking lots, giving me the right of way at intersections, etc. It's weird. Jags just command a certain level of respect that I had not anticipated, nor am I so entitled to think I somehow deserve such treatment, but it happens regardless.

Damn, i got tears in my eyes. Owning a F-Type and a TVR and being a petrolhead and political incorrect white man as Jeremy Clarkson, i feel that we have to enjoy the rest of the time with our cars. In a near future they will be regulated or completely replaced by electric cars you can use but not own... :-(

I learned the other day that this V6 is a 90 degree one rather than the usual 60 degree in most cars. That explains why it sounds so good. It's basically the Jaguar V8 with two pistons deleted.

Exactly how I feel about my F Pace SVR. It may be a two ton SUV, but with 550 ps, AWD and adaptive dampers it handles well, accelerates like a sports car and the exhaust sound and supercharger whine are just glorious. I am enjoying it while I can, every journey is a joy. Love jaguars, my last car was an XJ which I had for 21 years.

This proves that given a blank sheet of paper or a blank screen Clarkson can REALLY write. So to the know-it-all's that say anybody can do what he does you try & script several hundred words that are interesting entertaining & worthy of been published and/or broadcasted to a global audience. We can all mouth off but few can write AND get paid for it.

Don’t ever give up on exquisitely beautiful cars - excitingly loud, finely mastered performance … They are here to stay, if you don’t let go…. Let go and we all suffer !! Think about your children enjoying what you did.

Even in the golden age just ending, "exquisitely beautiful cars" like the F-Type are available only to a vanishingly small number of wealthy people. As for those cars' future, in coming years they will be too valuable to drive, even for the rich. Especially for the rich. And in this country more than nearly any other, if you are not rich, chances are overwhelming your children won't be, either.

I just took my recently acquired 2016 F-Type R out for a drive this morning by myself after we dropped the kiddo off at school. I wasn't going anywhere. I was just out to drive -- purely for the love of driving. I get exactly what Clarkson is saying and what all car guys/gals feel. At the moment I've got the Jaguar sitting next to my old '00 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 in our garage next to each other. I've owned that thing for 21 years (bought it used w/ low miles back then). Aren't those strange bed-fellows? With each car, my jaw dropped when I first saw/heard them, and with each I said with conviction "I will own that one day". I'm trying to be practical so I still need to sell the WS6 but it's tough to part ways after such a long journey together. If I had the extra garage space I'd keep her. Anyway, thanks for posting this. I'm glad I ran across it. The F-Type is such a unique vehicle. Not the fastest (although 0-60 in 3.5s isn't exactly slow), not the most exotic, but from a brand w/ such a heritage that is foreign (literally) to most of us in the US but also somehow familiar and endearing w/ the raw power, bold stance, and properly obnoxious exhaust note. We share a special bond with our British mates across the pond and maybe even w/ car people in every other country.

My F-Type shares garage with a Renault Clio RS 172 (If you are American, it's very much like a Civic Ek4 in size and about the perfomance of a EP3 type r, a tiny car for windy roads that I love very much). Also a very odd couple :)

I don't have a Jaguar persay, it's a Lincoln LS. The sister car of the Jaguar S-Type. And man are these things something special. This slow, old, growling V8 sedan is everything to me. It puts a smile on my face when almost nothing else can, even when broken down as it is now. I can just look at it and a smile comes across my face.
I refuse to give up on it. I refuse to let it become another casualty of a junk yard. And people just don't understand why.
Why keep this nearly 20 year old pile of junk alive?
And I think I finnaly found a video that can help them understand why I REFUSE to give up.

This just makes me sad. It’s like acceptance of the death of the car as something to enjoy. As car lovers, we’re now having electric SUV’s rammed down our throats and being told that we have to love them, we need to savour every last second of cars like these because soon, everything is going to be very soulless.
