  • In this video, we solve problem 11.5.099 from the Larson and Edwards Calculus: Early Transcendental Functions text, 7th edition.
    We're asked to verify that two lines with given parametric equations are parallel, and then we're asked to find the distance between two lines.

    If we consider v2 in cross product....then how we can manage this question?...i mean answer should not be affected while using this trick? Am i right? Plz guide about it

      Yes, you could just as easily use v2 as opposed to v1. You’d have to switch the labels for P and Q as well though, to ensure that you’re finding the length of the projection of PQ onto a vector normal to both lines.
