One thing to note is the mystic smoke staff does have 10% damage for standard spell book spells and is the better choice over ahrim's staff, though it is a fair bit more.
Just wanted to add in,if you can get a forgotten brew (buying one is easy for mains, not sure of a good iron man method unfortunately) and you have a portal room in your poh you can use the brew at 75 magic to boost to 84 and establish a barrows portal in your house very early. 74 doesn't work unfortunately since the forgotten brew is only a +8 boost at 74. House tablets are far cheaper than barrows tablets and if you plan to run barrows a lot then it's definitely worth it
Ironman can do spicy stew with 78 magic, or wizard mind bomb with 80 magic. The other option is magic potion for a reliable +4 boost with 79 magic, but you will need 76 herblore to create with (or 72 with a +4 pie boost). Forgotten brew is late game content (91 herblore) and you will already have 83 magic way before getting 91 herblore on a iron
Thank yeh @FLFlatsmaster. The plugins that are making my game pop will be: 1. 117 HD - General overhaul to the graphics whilst keeping it still looking oldschool. Biggest thing to make the game look less pixelated is to up the anti-aliasing. Here are my settings for the plugin, hopefully you can see this: i.imgur.com/3zL8Bqk.png You could go way higher with the settings but I need them turned down to stream and record. Also if you have more than one client open, you will also need to lower settings. 2. Animation smoothing - Make animations less jittery Hopefully that helps you.
For an iron man, use your best air spell or Iban's blast. If you want access to easy death runes, you can sell fully grown cats to civilians in ardy. You should be able to get an ardy cloak easily for regening prayer (you can teleport to kandarin monastery with the cloak). For armour, wanted! and slug menace should both be achievable if you can finish something like underground pass. Those quests will unlock you initiate and proselyte armour. Lastly invent, prayer pots, you will have to either do herb runs for ranarrs and make them yourself or, you can do the managing Miscellania quests. You can look the quests up but basically you can invest money into a kingdom for them to get you resources. It does take a little work to do those quests though so that's up to you. Food should be easy. The thing to focus on the most is prayer pots, because you don't want to get walloped by dharok, or shredded by Karil. Let me know if you want more specific help.
@DGscaper117 ill have to wiki a lot of that but tysm for the reply. I went pretty much purely into mage right now so it looks like I'll need to re evaluate that
@duck_ruler8094 no worries. The recommended gear is just to help you have an easier time and not drain you of all your prayer pots, especially as an ironman. I wouldn't bother with any magic gear for these bosses until you have something with a magic damage... which is harder to get for an ironman. Give it a go, its not as intimating as it may seem. You can do it with minimal gear, you may just need to eat a lot more food.
I go to dharoks, it tells me to go down to chest? I guess then I have to do him last? Wish you had been specific about that as I was suddenly being attacked by the spirits. I wouldn't recommend this guide for that alone being so extremely confusing when you're trying to follow this guide.
You don't really need any switch as with the rework to magic, as they get hit by air spells quite accurately and hard. I wouldn't worry about wearing mystics at all and just stick to tank gear or maximizing prayer if you don't have the gommal's hilt 2. And yeh, using your best air spell is probably gonna be best (because they are now weak to air). Otherwise you can use things like the trident or Iban's blast.
Ardy cape is a great because it has a good prayer bonus, a little magic bonus and is easy to obtain. Its also great because you can use it to tele and refill prayer. You could totally upgrade to a fire or mage arena cape 2. I think mage arena cape 1 is not good enough to make a switch though.
Wave spells are probably going to be your best bet most of the time. They hit harder and are accurate. Put them both in a dps calculator, that way you can 100% verify.

Yeah with wind surge I’m smacking 38s without augury.
I love your music choices. Thanks for the guide, pretty to the point.
Thanks @Neva9999
I just yoinked music from all the games I like playing. What song stood out the most to you?

Great advice dude. I definitely need to invest in upgrading my poh.
Not sure about Ironman either but I went to 78 magic and boosted with spicy stew

Could also use house party world, and someone else's house.
Ty did my first barrows
Nice work dude
Great guide and your game looks amazing is there a certain plugin or settings you’re using?

Thanks for the guide. Bout to farm these barrows for a while.
@ben_osrs thanks my guy. I hope you get as spooned as me 😂
Thats not to bad yo
No worries lopez
A trick I found for low level is instead of rune chainbody to use Blue d'hide body. Really helped speed up my damage and kill rate.
Good advice!
NIce content! love it bro keep it up..
Thanks dude. Let me know if there is anything you want to see 👍
i hear terran 3 i press like. thanks for the guide
Shits like nostalgia crack haha
It hit me like an ice cream truck when I heard the KOTOR music (in a good way), wtf bro
Hooking people in with that music >
Perfect pronunciation of the helm but that necklace is an an occult lol
Haha yep. I see now that I said it the way I used to say it when I was younger. I know its sounds more like "OH-CULT"
For an ironman what do you recommend? Pretty new on my account. Couple weeks in.

do i need to have a switch, will obsidian / mystic hybrid work? also is it a necessity to use air magic over the others?

Trident or air spells?
Air spells. They hit 50% harder and more accurate. Trident is still fine if you have one and the runs will nearly be as fast.

1/15 per run is a good drop rate
Ive gone pretty dry before then had two in a row so it all adds up
Is wind wave better than warped sceptre?
