If I could choose one to own and drive I would go for the UK one, but the Aussie’s level of craftsmanship is astounding. That said, from the first ep the US one was the most eye catching of all three. Had I been there to vote I think I would have voted either UK or AU, but all three are amazing and worthy of respect!
The black bike is the only one that is rideable every day, or for long miles. The Australian bike had the best craftsmanship. The American won because it was big long and bloated, and that is what Americans who voted want.
@@craigd1275as an American I would be voting for the UK bike. As incredible as the Australian one was you’d need sunglasses for your sunglasses if any sunlight hit it and the American bike is just hideous
Russell Mitchell's Bike is the real winner for me, I like the looks, the ruggedness the toughness, clearly it's a bad ass more functional and smooth bike compare to the two bikes.
The Aussie bike I’ll surely never forget, I think it’s the nicest bike ever. Haven’t seen this in years but this was three talented teams all these bikes are gorgeous. I think this is the best episode.
There were bits of all 3 that I liked. The American one had that long, low curvy look, but in the end it looked like a tribal tattoo with wheels. The English one had the perfect '50s vibe, and I really liked the extremely clean look and the fact it had 2 fat tires on it, but the only access to the front brake being on that shift lever under your butt was a bit of a bummer, as was the shifter position, and it was an off-the-shelf assembly that really didn't have that chopper look. In the end, the Aussie bike really nailed it. Absolutely blown away by the craftsmanship that went into it and it's hard to argue with the quality of the end result. The fit and finish were next level. They'd have had my vote had I been there.
depends on what style of chopper youre going for. you say the english didnt quite have a chopper feel, but it definitely had that 50s early 60s bobber kinda early chopper style. the other two were that newer style of chopper. in my mind the aussies did the best work all around for sure, that level of craftmanship is just amazing and i respect it, but i just cant get down with that newer style of chopper and will always prefer that older style like the british did. i will agree that the choice to do the front brake like that is a bit dumb though.
This episode is what made me a Joe Martin fan for life no matter what he's building. If I had one in my garage? it's Exile. It's my style of what I want to ride most. it's me end to end. I love and appreciate any and all artists with passion and these guys set off a firestorm back in the day of what became the big bike boom 2K! It's great to watch Joe still today doing cars on Iron Res- He is a metal magician. .
+Guido Rollard I agree. Beyond National things (which I don't care about), the aussie team surprised me! In the middle of nowhere they managed to build that stunning masterpiece! Hats off gentlemen, you are winners! I am glad that arrogant guy didn't win. The aussie guy was correct "there's a huge difference in building bikes and assembling bikes".
+Alistair Nelson Bush Jr. wasn't elected by honest votes, just like Obummer wasn't. They were just the puppets assigned by the powers that be. Having said that, I agree the Aussie chap is an amazing craftsman. I mean he is a world class metal worker. I think Joe Martin is also quite gifted in metal working. The Arrogant Britwit get's zero praise from me though. There's a reason he's never won in the States, and if he wasn't so fucking arrogant, he might see why and correct it. Clearly that won't happen.
and often, a lot of the real craftsmen are hardly known outside their community, and just do what they love to do back home in their garage or shed, regardless of shows and stuff. Only if someone wants to bring his business into spotlight, thats a reason to do so
Guido Rollard I think you're 100% correct. I build some pretty cool shit in my garage/shop, and I do it with very little money, or resources. I always love to see true craftsmen build things, no matter what genre it's in. We are a dying breed. these days if they can't google it to see how everyone else does it, or if a computer can't tell them what to do, they are lost. I'm a machinist by trade, and a damn good one. Kids aren't learning to do things with their minds and hands any more. It's a real shame too.
The Aussies deserved to win, their bike was the better built of them all And I'm a Kiwi We never like Aussies to win ,all bikes were good in my eye but that Aussies bike ,If the people only new what went to making them before the vote things may have been different
Outstanding work on all three bikes. I was most impressed by the Aussie one; the pure skill of the metalwork is jaw-dropping. I hope to see more of that.
What a burn. The bobber that the Brit built in Southern California is exactly, but exactly, what I want. Absolutely flawless execution of my dream bike: how did he know? Fooking brilliant, that.
For bike built, Scotty the Aussie hands down. Master piece. For rideable and one i would buy, the UK bike without a doubt. Amazing bike. Ete candy with style and paint job, the US bike. Would have been 3rd in my vote. Hard pressed between UK and Australia. Just depends on my personal criteria
Russel's bike was the best one up there. Ridable, fat bob white walls, clean, and above all a freakin badass Knucklehead! My dream bike from the day I first viewed this sweet ride...An amazing bike of the ages. #1 with a bullet over the top... I wish it was mine 👍👍
That was a half ass bike that anyone with the parts can assemble. Russell built NOTHING on that bike... he used pre-existing, and ready made parts, that were slightly modified for his build! This was a bike BUILDERS competition, not a bike assembly competition! So no, sorry, Russell's bike comes in 3rd place.
Shows how much styles can change. I watched this episode as a kid. I said back then, USA bike all the way. Now at 32, I would pick Exile bike in a heartbeat.
Team Australia had the best bike by far. They should have won no doubt. The level of craftsmanship on the bike was amazing, all the detail that went into the build is something to really admire. BAD ASS BIKE TEAM 🇦🇺.
mind was blown by the level of cratmanship put into the aussie bike i wish i could build a bike from the ground up like that from literally nothing. nothing but respect but i kinda feel like bikes styled like that kinda look a bit too much like something woulda seen on like west coast choppers or something. lots of people including me are much more partial to that old school stylings kinda like what the english did.
American biker's have been building one off custom motorcycle;s longer than anyone its what we do its our heritage ! Not surprised at all that Martin Brother's took the prize ! The Aussie bike beautifully designed but to much aluminum not enough contrast ! British bike very clean but a bit to simple ! Joe martin hand's down winner !
The American bike was awesome, but even though I'm American I have to give the winning nod to the Aussie team. That polished aluminum bike was awesome and the winner in my opinion. Hat off to you Scotty you built a dream on wheels hands down the best and baddest bike in the world.
They did zero hand works. Most of parts not customize at all. Simply use phone call and blame others. Also no meaning paint job or body vvorks. Their chooperbike derivatived to be an after market modify on scene
*The Americans most definitely put the most creativity and function all while making the most comfortable to ride bike, except for the fact that it's a hard-tail!!! The Brits (Russell) built (assembled) the same old boring bobber that they ALWAYS do!!! The Aussies actually "built"something for once, and it actually ran!! The Aussies also finally picked someone that's not afraid to put a little hard work into his bike, I actually kinda liked this one!!*
Hope Scotty got some of that, and not just the dealer who sponsored the build. Dude seriously needs the money to fix that leaky roof! All jokes aside, though, it was a fantastic build.
yeah not saying it judt coz im aussie but the usa one looked like a bike some little kid would hsve on his t-shirt ewith flames in the bsckground the aussie one looked good and sounded great the others looked cheesey snd sterotypical
1. Australian bike is the best, built from the ground up. 2. English bike comes second, i love the old school stuff 3. American bike looks like a bike from a reality bike show from discovery.
I must repeat another's post," Australian team were the best by far. Superb craftmanship ". Martins had the nicest paint, Russel's bike are very cool and easy to ride but the Aussie bike in a build off was far and above the others.... I live in Washington State, USA.
All those bikes were built by fabulous builders. I have to say I appreciate the labor into the Australian bike, awesome skills just amazing but the bike I would ride, and wanna be seen on is Russell's. In fact it resembles my own bike in many many ways. I have to say every single thing about the exile bike is my absolute favorite. Great job fellas. 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏. Nice
That Australian bike was by far ahead of its time. Gorgeous bike. Should've won hands down. The craftmanship is unparallele. The British would win first place in retro bikes. Clean and mean old school bike. Not a chopper or bobber. Just a bike many can appreciate. USA, I'd would agree but in a chopper build off, he'll win. Hands down. Nice paint job. Thank God he won the coin toss. Green is a bit too flamboyant IMO. That orange is gorgeous
Dont know why I watched this, but as an American all 3 were cool; I really think the Aussie bike was the best, followed closely by the Brit bike. Brit bike was clean and solid. The American bike was flashy but looked like it was be uncomfortable on long rides. The Aus bike was pure craftsmanship.
Crazy to thinks this was 11years ago.. That Bobber's probably the coolest, but what Scotty and the boys put together was awesome! Good stuff. That American dude though, really brought nothing to the table for me.
I’m sorry but when you allow a contest to be judged by a bunch of drunk spectators, your gonna get it wrong. Now the Martin bros. bike was an outstanding build NO QUESTION ABOUT IT!! But in as much as they built it custom, they still didn’t go through what the Australia team did. You see, EVERY SINGLE INCH OF THAT bike was custom cast aluminum polished to the specs of a fine Swiss watch. The contest should be judged by qualified builders that know what they are talking about. NOT by a bunch of easily impressed inebriated Yahoos that are judging them on pretty paint and striping. C’mon are you kidding me?? EVERY SINGLE PART OF THE AUSSIE build was built by hand. Did you see how thick the fender material was?? Or how beefy those handlebars were? Everything about that build SCREAMED high quality. The winner and the English bobber were fine bikes for sure and I would feel privileged to own either of them. But my opinion and 45 years experience with custom work says: the Aussie testament CREAMED the other guys and that they won on beauty, technical prowess and all around perfection. If they were compared to watches: •Martin bike was a SEIKO •English bobber an Omega •Aussie bike is a ROLEX!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏻
Waveluth It’s all just for fun, dude. It’s not like the international title belt, or something. In the end, it’s all about what the bike sells for. This is all just Hollywood and fun.
Aussie is #1 All Day Long...Most Origional... Hand Built...Hand Crafted...{Scottie's Garage Australia} ~Congratulations!!! Gentlemen She IS A Beauty Mate.#1 For Sure, Without A Doubt! If You Don't Win #1 We Will Kick Their Ass! It is georgious man. Our Best to the Crew•¿• Fantastic Scotty! & Mother-in-law. Hop on Mama! From N.E.~PA. U.S.A.
Aussie team should have won. It took way more skill to fabricate a bike that was way more unique than the other two. I agree with Aaack Aardvark here: Murcian and Brit bikes were a lot more bolt-on vs. truly custom bits throughout the bike. Not only that, but the bike that won was by far the least drivable. They barely got that monstrosity running...
I thought the Aussie bike and the American bikes looked the same and cliche. Generic looking like an OCC bike... loads of spikes and points. The Englishman’s bike was a stand out. Old school and super clean! I respect the Aussie bike builder for crafting everything on his own, but the Brit bike wins my vote.
Radical Randy gets best in show for his extreme mullet cut!! All the bikes are great but for my choice it would be Russell Mitchell's. His would be the one I would want to be my everyday rider. Sweet!!!
I remember watching this when it first aired, and thinking the Exile looked timeless, while the other two, as impressive as the work was, instantly looked like 2004. It was obvious then the long swoopy tribal flame stuff would not be around in a few years. Russell Mitchell in 2021 is still building satin black tanks while the other two are now doing completely different things, which I think says it all.
Timeless doesn't matter because people will always love the stuff from their era. Take the vehicle industry, how sought after all the old mustangs, corvettes, chargers, camaros, old trucks, it's endless all the older vehicles that are going for big money now. So, in time, these older bikes will be just as sought after as collectible time pieces.
Riding the bike vs. looking at the bike…that’s why I liked his bike back then & now. Tbh…I loved the whole chopper craze and its extremes but always knew I wouldn’t want to own one of those zero maneuverability kickstand showpieces.
🤔 For practically the British bike would be my choice. Real world riding that is, not just to look at. But dam Scotty.. your craftsmanship is second to none mate 👍 I’m an Aussie sooooo I’ll be having the Scotty man make my dream machine 😜
Aussie , English , American. I’m American but in my opinion the American bike is made to be parked. I like the look and the rideablity of the English bike the most but as far as custom fabrication and build talent I think all three builders know who should have won the show.
Back in the day when I was responsible for making custom motorcycle tyres for Avon, then Vee Rubber, Scotty Cox entered the Acid Monster, a truly gorgeous motorcycle for the world championship held in Las Vegas. As I am also a former racer, tyre tester, and aerospace engineer, I could not fail but be impressed by the overall package of the man and machine. Too often the term builder is tagged onto assemblers, and so it has become almost a stupid statement in itself. This is the man for the art of the motorcycle, from start to finish. No surprise that an American won in an American contest, in America. But I for one, beg to differ
The bikes were all beautiful and the voters were all those at Bike Week, not know what country built which bike. I love the American bike but I would have chosen the Aussie bike. Super craftsmanship.
IMHO ,Exile has the best look, His idea of simple, clean and tough are what makes his the best in my eyes. too many of use are too into the "oh look shiny".
Im not one to say in a competition everyone gets a blue ribbon, but the Aussies had the extra challenge of a supply chain. Saying that, I would want the Brits to actually ride. The Americans definitely knew their crowd but built their hearts into that bike. Tough choice, but I voted for the Brits. The other two were just too flashy for me. I liked the way there was no cables on the bars. I didnt care for how wide the front tire was but it fit the build. For any of the hot rodders reading this, you know how tough it is to actually finish a project like this. The last 10% of the build takes 50% fo the time. All the builders stayed cool (or at least portrayed) not losing their shit and getting dramatic. A lifetime achievement in my humble opinion.
Im also an old school Harley minimalist like Russell. Ironically, all the hideous noise and colors he doesn't want on his bikes, he smears all over his body. GO FIGURE ??????
I was most impressed by the Aussie one; the pure skill of the metalwork is jaw-dropping. I have to say I appreciate the labor into the Australian bike, awesome skills just amazing but the bike I would ride
I like what Aussies came up with. all hand made. Great Style. USA was flashy and impractical ( but there was a lot of hard work and the airbrush was amazing). Brit was like "Bike Assembly", all pre-fabricated. For me Aussies are the winner.
As a brit I can safely say this demonstrates where we have fallen behind in the last 30 years in terms on engineering and design and frankly work ethic. The work in the American and Australian build and the hours put in is remarkable
In regards to them actually building the parts yes, it's impressive. But if you ask me they don't look as good as Russell's. Everything is too over the top and tacky.
When this aired, my favorite was the exile bike. Revisiting it, i still feel the same. The aussies obviously displayed the best technical fabrication skill. But i think exile displayed the best compositional skill, which ultimately matters most to me. The Aussie bike looks like the silver surfer ordered a custom chopper. The American bike looks like a dragon with serious back problems wearing a bunch of gaudy jewelry. It looks like some inaccurate interpretation of a motorcycle, like if you asked an ai to produce an image of a motorcycle. The exile bike just looks like an exceptionally clean, well done bobber, which is always attractive in my book
Each one of those bikes represent the minds the character of each builder even though this is an 8 ,year old build off every one of these guys are winners and I appreciate each one of them continued success gentlemen what beautiful hardware.
Aussie bike was badass but imagine having to polish it all the time just to keep it looking good? British bike was one you can buy off of craigslist that somebody slapped together in their garage.

But my opinion and 45 years experience with custom work says: the Aussie testament CREAMED the other guys and that they won on beauty, technical prowess and all around perfection.
If they were compared to watches:
•Martin bike was a SEIKO
•English bobber an Omega
•Aussie bike is a ROLEX!!
A Seiko. Still laughing at that comment.
Thumbs up for the super mullet on the announcer at the live show!
Russell is the only one that built a functional bike that will still be cool 50 years from now
He didn't build shit! He merely assembled a bike from pre-existing parts! lol ! Joe and Scotty hand built their own bikes from the ground up!

@@BerserkerNick Thanks! Congrats on being a moron who hates facts and truth! lol
@@georgekouts there's nothing in the entire world that means less than your opinion except maybe you, bye troll
I m happy our very own Texan won..
All three bikes were a masterpiece.
I'd take them.all.
Thank you gentlemen.
The timing had to be adjusted. Barely got it running? The Aussies couldn't get theirs running until they replaced a wire. Nice logic.
For my taste, it's Russell's bike all the way. I love it.
I think Russells was the best bike.
haowal1 that’s the way I feel others are show pieces Russell’s meant to be ridden
Russ Bikes are By far the best Made Bikes out there. Clean Super Clean.
Bike builder and appears on a stock '03 Vrod, Love it ! xD
Radical Randy gets best in show for his extreme mullet cut!! All the bikes are great but for my choice it would be Russell Mitchell's. His would be the one I would want to be my everyday rider. Sweet!!!
Australian guy is insane...
Pure GOLD ❤️
Kudos from the Philippines. 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 Mabuhay.
I like the ausi bike more but if i had to own one it would be the brit bike 100% , it's not flashy but still looks bad ass
@@F1JV spot on, short n sweet the only way to go on a chopper and trim the fat.
Excellent point. Chrome and bling are tacky now.
Scott's bike profile is beautiful not overly done. But very tasteful and will never go out of style
🤔
For practically the British bike would be my choice. Real world riding that is, not just to look at.
But dam Scotty.. your craftsmanship is second to none mate 👍
I’m an Aussie sooooo I’ll be having the Scotty man make my dream machine 😜
Nobody even knew what builder went with what bike, so being from America did not come into play.
Australians should win here by far! Others assembled pieces fabric made, but aussies made all parts by themselfs!!!
for me american bike for show room, ausie bike for show off, british bike for daily bike..
love the old school bike
On point
That guitar 🎸 in the background is Paul Gilbert's signature Ibanez hollow body 😳 and the motorcycles 🏍 are awesome 😯would love to have one 🤔🙂☠️🤘
Aussies should of had that, hands down.
and this is from an American
Too much bling
they definitely have the most talent, building all by hand is beyond amazing
Polishing it everytime you ride it would get old.
Nah the Brits had the coolest one
@@saheedmcmaster3736 Same bike they always make. Just pull parts off the shelf and assemble.
All of the bikes were stunning. I liked Joe Martins bike. All good stuff. The matte black bike was quite beautiful also.
Long and low with hard-tail attitude, thats me, love that swing arm and back wheel. My vote USA.
Billy lane & or Indian Larry would've been a betta pick doe 🇺🇸, NO DOUBT
Aussies should've won. Handcrafted and brilliant build.
Everytime I see the Australian guy, I hear the Nightrider from Mad Max! I like the night riders mom!
The bikes were all beautiful and the voters were all those at Bike Week, not know what country built which bike. I love the American bike but I would have chosen the Aussie bike. Super craftsmanship.
IMHO ,Exile has the best look,
His idea of simple, clean and tough are what makes his the best in my eyes.
too many of use are too into the "oh look shiny".
I’ve always loved Russ & Exile Bikes, nuff said!
I'm with you on that.. Dude builds my style of bikes..
Remember back then that style wasn't popular fat tyres and loud paint jobs were the in thing.
Aussie bike was the one I was the most impressed with the build on, by miles... but the (not very) British bike was the one I'd want to ride.
I like the USA bike they made unique and stylish bike congrats for the win, and I tip my hat to the Aussie for the craftsmanship
well my vote from the uk was
1st Aus 100% hand built
2nd USA 98% hand built
3rd my push bike
Mabe at the time other bikes were trendy style. But truth is Scotty had best bike and will look good till end days. Timeless beauty top notch build
I was most impressed by the Aussie one; the pure skill of the metalwork is jaw-dropping. I have to say I appreciate the labor into the Australian bike, awesome skills just amazing but the bike I would ride
YEAH THE AUSSIES BIKE IS A TRUE CUSTOM BUILD, THEY LITERALLY FABRICATED EVERYTHING...REAL TALENT
Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for Watching!
the Aussies should of won by miles, no i aint an Aussie i'm english
Yeah i know dude this guy work hard by handmade wow tuff job 😁👍🏼
Indeed
Snakebite well people didnt know that
People vote for what looks good not how much time and effort was put into it
I agree the Aussie bike was far better looking
The Bobber. Hands down. I like something you can ride everyday.
That mullet though, it's strong, real strong!
Sagelight 7777 lm from New Zealand and love that bike of Russell ur bike builders are up there cool
In regards to them actually building the parts yes, it's impressive. But if you ask me they don't look as good as Russell's. Everything is too over the top and tacky.
I am from the US and I would pick Russell's Bike by far over the others.
And yet the British bike is the most tasteful and will stand the test of time
@Reese Prince possibly if that's your taste
Killer looking Bikes!
I like Martin Brothers and Russell's Bike.
Aussie was the perfect build! 🧐
Little did I know watching this as a kid I would eventually go from loving the American chopper. To preferring bikes more like the one from England
The English team built an American HD based hot rod style bobber...traditional English bikes look nothing like Exile.
TT like what you said about the Aussie. and. British bikes have to polish. The Aussie bike for days to keep it looking good thank you.
I used to love the flashy American choppers but bro that English and Aussie bike is sick especially.
I liked Billy Idol's bike!
ArgentPure only thing I would change about the billy bike is beach bars and a hand clutch all three bikes looked great
Loved the craftsmanship in the assie bike but that british bike is my cup a tea, such a clean looking modern hot rod look its bang on
Imagine they all working together 🤩🥰
Yeah the Martin Bros bike was the clear winner then and to this day 😎👍🏻 amazing job!!
