@@IntoTheVoidAnime "October is a good month to start it" I see someone is well acquainted with the WTC series. October really is a good month for this.
This is a puzzle-like work. If you look at this until the end, you'll see a big picture, but if you quit in the middle, you'll see only a piece of the puzzle, so you won't see the true picture of this work.
If this show only had gruesome and dark stuff all the way all the time it will get old and boring very fast. That's why you need the cute stuff, this show is a masterpiece because they balance this very well. Hence the psychological horror tag .You will enjoy both part by the end of this serie.
Yep , they all expected modern horror. Some people can't appreciate these build-ups and just want the gore and 'scare' while expecting those they won't really care for the plot. This was probably the reason most people left during the 'Himatsubushi' hen.
There are certain stuff explained better in the previous adaptation... like how there are kid of different ages in ONE CLASS. Maybe they'll explain that later on in this one too. So far I'm very pleased with this new adaptation.
If you've seen the original anime the story will be mostly the same it's just that there will probably be better pacing and added details that were cut due to time constraints and a limited amount of episodes. It's not that the original completely diverged from the source material. It's just that there are certain plot points that got cut from specific arcs that may be added to make the story feel more fleshed out.
OMG!!!!! YOU GUYS ARE ACTUALLY DOING THIS ANIME?!!!!! Its been *YEARS* since i've seen this!!!!! Perfect for October. What ever you do, don't watch it at night! lol!
It's a wonderful work that makes you realize what's important. (大切なことを気付かせてくれる素敵な作品です。) Please watch until the end.😊 (最後まで観て下さいね。) I'm looking forward to a wonderful reaction.👍 (素敵なリアクションを楽しみにしています。)
Its a Sequel, basically Season 3. Episode 2 just confirmed it and Funimation also confirmed it. So you will get the old show spoiled very early. Hell, the start of episode 2 spoils the big twist
It was weird seeing the girl with the gun as gun laws are very strict in Japan... basically only police and hunters can have guns legally... unless gun laws were different in 1983 or whatever this was set in. They’d been showing reruns of the original series on the anime channel I watch, but I couldn’t get myself to watch it as I didn’t like the cutesy character designs. This is a little more bearable. It looks interesting though, and I look forward to how this develops. The end song rocks!
I turned supremely giddy when I heard that original op. This is how studio passione redeems themselves from HighSchool DxD born Karma by making the characters look as cute as possible took lull the new viewers into a false sense of safety and then proceeding to make the new viewers cry their eyes out in fear. The people who have already watched the first version have already known what's up for years
I think the cutesy moments were done better in the original series. It's been 14 years, so the voice actors sound slightly different from before. Because of that, they may have overdone the voices a little bit. The happy music during those parts is also a little too much. But the horror elements feel scarier now, because of the improved art.
I've seen a comparison screenshot and it's VERY similar to the OG adaptation and I like that. I'm also super glad that they've toned down the overly moe character design.
Omg my favorite anime , I remember watching it weekly, now many years later here I am xD, God I feel so old lol I think this is more like the visual novel adaptation than an anime re make, also the characters design is the same from monogatari they a bit shiny xD but I like it, I'm happy the og voice actors are back!
I wish guys react Yuukoku no Moriarty/Moriarty the Patriot but you might not since you have already full anime schedule in watching. For short summary its story about Sherlock Holmes but the main character is James Moriarty perspective and showing justice in his own way since he is crime lord.
i dont know the host names but the one in the middle who watched the show.. good pocker face. keep it mystory for them as possible and we'll have great season
my only criticism of this show is the moe design and overly emphasized cuteness of the characters. i know it's the juxtaposition of the cuteness factor with the horrible violence that many find unsettling, but it is still incredibly annoying and many sideplots and sequences extend these more harmless side of the show. like getting an entire sequence where the kids all play together and the little girls are being cute little girls simply last longer than they need to. and im not sure if it was higurashi kai or the first series, but i just didnt like the cliche "power of friendship" trope that kind of undermines the more serious and admittedly cooler aspects of the show that is gradually revealed. this show would be 10x better without this fetishization or obsession of "cute". regardless everything else about it was so beautifully done that i could disregard this the faults.
I’m in a predicament I want to watch another anime but can’t bring myself to it I’ve only watched attack on titan so if anyone has suggestions on what I should watch next I’ll appreciate it
For new fans of the genre, AoT is certainly a good starting point, maybe the best anime of all time and doesn't contain certain anime elements that could repulse the general non anime fan audience. Other animes which are geared more toward western and more adult audience and non-anime fans, containing mature themes and high-quality storytelling and characters, without the usual and irritating anime tropes and elements (like irritating lolis or harem girls with high pitched voice, unnecessary and tasteless fanservice, protagonist's nose bleeds seeing a little bare skin of a woman, change in the art style and character design to be funny and emphasize out of place tonal shifts, shit filler and beach episodes, the power of friendship etc.) are: 1. Death Note, No1. anime in popularity (the anime version, not the shitty live action netflix adaptation and you can watch it in English dub because it is fcking good). Drama, battle of wits and intelligence between geniuses, a tale of power and how it corrupts and ruins 2. Stein's gate, Top 10 anime based on scores (English dub is better here as well): SciFI Time travel series, with one of (if not) the best and most coherent and explained time-traveling rules and consequences amongst all series. First few episode can be boring for many and in reality you have to pay attention to every little detail from the 1. second if you want to theorize about the happenings through the series and fully understand certain plot points mid season (it is about time travel so bear that in mind during watching the series, rewatching it with full attention you could see the "spoilers" and foreshadowing from the start) and if you want to understand why is it such a genius series. In theme and genre neither of those series are similar to AoT and neither series is a happy one during watching, so bare that in mind, but both of them are regarded as classic masterpieces by the anime community and non anime fans as well. If you want something like AoT than it is a problem, because there are no other like that, just copycats or similar series which are mediocre or trash even by anime standards. 3. Code Geass, English dub is good, don't know about the Japanese. if you like genius plans and chess matches (though the series is more shallow and less intelligent than it tries to be). SciFi, Mecha, battle of wits, revenge, from bottom to the throne themes. It contains far more anime cliches and tropes ( in character design as well), than the other two, but it is still a well loved, scored and popular series among anime fans and it was well loved by my friends who doesn't watch many animes as well. I had my problems with it, but it is still an outstanding anime in many respects. 4. Fate/Zero. English dub is preferred A Battle royale anime with historic and legendary figures as servants and their mage masters fighting for a wish granting grail. This anime is much deeper than these cliches and shallow line would describe it. All masters and servants have different agenda, morality, philosophy, there are no certain protagonist and with some exception nobody is in the right or wrong, they will murder each other over philosophical and idealistic differences, not because one is good the others are evil. The fight scenes are spectacular and the characters and their philosophy, morality and interactions are interesting. 5. One Punch Man, for a fun, action-packed, short )12 eps) shounen anime series which is both critically acclaimed and by the general audience (in the west as well). The second season got serious thrashing due to change in animation quality and adaptation problems but as a non-manga reader I liked S2 as well and the series is a nice and happy show mostly. 6. KonoSuba, Comedy, Isekai, parody anime, Japanese dub is heavily preferred. This has far more anime elements and tropes than the first 4, but it is mostly parodying the isekai (reborn or reincarnated or etc. in an other world) and the show is hilarious and fun, but contains some fan service and sometimes can be heavily sexual in tone and dialogues for comedic effect (not a romantic, harem or ecchi series though, so won't be anything between the characters and other bullshit) An advice, many will advice you to watch Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood as one of the best animes ever(it is an overrated shit which is over scored by fanatics who immediately start to score 1s on every anime which could get close to it on MAL and other portals) and it is possible that you would like it, but if your standard is AoT than you shouldn't watch that. It is a mediocre and outdated anime and 3 times longer than an average anime season, without any meaningful happening in it. It is an anime which contains every tropes and frustrating things most people identify with anime. The show cannot decide if it is for kids (certainly not due to its theme and amount of blood) or adults (who aren't fcking need flying chibi character style to make the show "funny" and alleviate the atmosphere after a horrible murder or serious trauma). If you have certain genres you like or live-action series you like and would watch something similar, or even pinpoint what did you like in AoT and what don't like generally in animes, I can give more recommendations. Edit: I recommend that if you are interested in some of my recommended animes, have a short look in it's design, art style and synopsis beside mine haphazard descriptions, so you can have a general idea if you would be interested in the show (both of my recommendations are loved by a wide audience and held in high regard, but that doesn't mean that you would certainly like all of them)
Gabor F Thanks I’ll definitely check some of these out the one that stuck out the most to me was Fate/Zero it sounded interesting I consider myself an open minded person I don’t count anything out people argue over dubs saying aots was bad but I switched back and forth between English dub and sub multiple time’s throughout the show and the ecchi and harem stuff doesn’t bother me at all appreciate the list.
Not gonna lie, when the original op started to play I literally jumped with excitement. I hope they keep it as the opening.
Yea it’s so good!

The " When They Cry" part of the title refers to " When The Cicadas Cry" since the anime's ambiance heavily features them buzzing.

It's actually a taser. I don't think they'd let a teenager walk around with a handgun strapped to her chest, even in a rural town.
