it seems to me that this is a viscous cycle of price gulgding, with the energy providers at the root of it as they increase the electrical costs , which in turn means that manufactures and producers need to increase costs , then the markets then us. its either that the cost of extracting oil per cubic unit has gone up for the world economy is dealing with an energy cartel

The problem with mandated minimum wages is that by far not every business is worth the increased labor compensation, particularly low-margin enterprises relying on hordes of low-skilled workforce. Differential application of the minimum wage could mend the situation, but that will demand even more red tape and exception loops that have to be administered and the already existing exceptions are siring controversies.

Here at Fauske in Northern Norway, the cafe we visit the most (at the railroad station), have dinners starting at around $14, and the food is excellent. And $7 for coffee, is roughly double compared to just about any cafe, restaurant or gas station here, and even that is expensive, imo.

I don't eat fast food, never really did... only in a pinch while traveling every blue moon or so. But I specifically remember that in 2020, when people were pushing for $15 wages an hour, I commented this would cause prices to sky rocket and make it unaffordable, AND people will lode their jobs. Do you want to make minimum wage, or do you want no job...? Because that's where we are heading with this BS. Then, after $15, inflation was on the brink, and NOW, they are pushing for 20 to 25$$ an hour! I even said they would end up firing actual human beings and make it ALL automated with robots. People called me every name in the book, tried to bully me on here, called me every ist, ism, and phobe too. "You are a rac!st p0s," was said to me ALOT! I feel vindicated, but it is upsetting because I knew this horrible outcome would come with my vindication. CAUSING the lower class to suffer much more. People need to start thinking logically again and stop running on pure emotion and delusional thinking. I live in California and there a lot of $.99 stores. The one in my city is going out of business. I read an article saying that the $.99 store Is liquidating all their assets. Which means they going out of business. I never liked shopping there anyways it always seemed dirty and rundown.

This is basically the issue with capitalism as a whole: big corporations are incentivized to offer a great service at an insanely good price to drive out the local competition. Once that local competition is gone, raise the prices because there's nobody else to compete.
We've seen this happen IN LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE ECONOMIC SECTOR, from video games to movies (blockbuster-netflix anybody?), and it's never going to change.

I used to eat McDonald's quite often, but stopped about a year ago due coupons not being as good and prices also going off.
Used to be able to get buy one get one free sausage McMuffin for $1.24
But I also just got sick at it for eating there so often.

It’s a marketing trick used to get rich people to pay more. You can still get most stuff for 1/3 the menu price on the app with deals and points. Normal people will order this way, while rich people won’t bother and will just pay the marked up menu prices.
This lets places like McDonalds essentially charge people based on their income, getting both maximum revenue and maximum customers, since normal people can pay the app prices. It’s honestly pretty smart.

Deals and coupons are rarer or less affordable every year. Even if you get "buy 1, get 50% off", you're still paying the outrageous new prices.
It's not "smart", unless you judge intelligence by customer ignorance and McDonald's greed. $10 burgers are still $10, but now we get $1 coupons for a single hash brown. McDonald's is simply transitioning to rich people.

The sad part is this isn’t just limited to fast food. It’s getting into retail stores too. The rise in minimum wage is making everything worse for everyone. It always gets me when people complain about self checkout will also complain when things are expensive and here I am getting paid 20 bucks an hour. And the worse part is the company is STILL hiring anyone with a pulse.

We had 4 years of the previous administration leadership and now we have 4 years of the current administration. Both sides had their fill but now it’s time to think and realize which 4 years were better and I’m sure everyone is in agreement that the previous 4 years in every way possible were better. Also notice which side is trying to keep you in poverty by telling you that 7% interest rates are normal, $5 gas is good, and sending 100s of billions of taxpayer dollars overseas is good.
