  • I got to hear Kali Audio's new Dolby Atmos Room - It's AMAZING - and I got to sit down with Charles Sprinkle, Kali Audio's Director of Acoustics. Let's just say I didn't know what I didn't know about acoustics before this conversation. I hope you learn some stuff from it too!

    "Oh look, there's Charles Sprinkle-Holy crap, this is a whole Kali Audio thing, awesome!!!"
    Great job, mate! 👍

    Wow, so much amazing information to take in. So many gems dropped there. Especially about making your speakers work with the room. Last room I tuned for myself I literally found the best low end sweet spot, then designed everything around that spot. Made it way easier to do the rest. Also +1 for monitoring fx. Use it every day for my VSX headphones. Great video as always 👍🙌

    Ive not had the pleasure of experiencing the Kali's yet, though I am pretty happy with my Adams. ANYWAY - just came here to say, what a fantastic conversation. One of the very best audio presence on YT - quality!

    I will say aesthetically, these speakers are 10/10. I love their design. Reminds me of a mix between Genelec and JBL. Very clean, no gloss, and have a nice organic vibe to them. Like, I could see them while i'm making french press coffee and play some smooth jazz. Great bargain too, holy shit.

    Great interview! Charles mentioned they've got some videos about tuning a room with REW and a calibrated microphone, do you know where those videos can be found? Thanks!

    Affordable high quality (soudwise) speakers, no excesive room treatment and a freeware encouragement to develope the best room with very little money. This are the things that shows how reliable is Kali Audio. Just bought my lp6

    I believe the Kalis do not have built-in rear mounting points for their monitors... which should otherwise make things far easier to install -- so I wonder how they hanged these safely in the ceiling.

    Wanted to get your opinion on this, it appears to be an alternative for the near future: ruclips.net/video/YvzwrhnPWHQ/видео.html
    Personally, I don't think it replaces the Mastering Engineer or his/her experience. And I think this factor may get lost on people excited to get their hands on this gear, in the virtual setting provided. Which is not to say, that this couldn't in some way inspire people to get better at Mastering. But I think it'd be interesting to hear your opinion on such a thing, maybe in the form of a video. (potential video idea)

      @@WillBorza hi thanks for your quick response I meant digital room correction like trinov or JBL intonto Or avid mtrx? Or could this be done manually to save on cost

    • @WillBorza
      @WillBorza  2 года назад

      Ah! Yes I believe it helps, but you could also use something free like REW to measure, then adjust your acoustics, measure again, etc.

    This is basically an advertisement for Kali. Now it makes sense why in your last video you said you preferred them over barefoots. Because of your relationship with this brand. Wearing a mask outside just seals the deal lol

    I can truly say "I knew Charles, when..." Charles used to come to my house, well before he was an engineer, and I like to think WE provided the "bug that bit him". I watched him go (really "BLOW" through) through his internship at "that other company", and I like to think that our group was some of the closest of friends, even though time and miles have pulled us apart. We'll done, Charles! Contact me on LinkedIn! You know who this is!
