August burns red is my favorite I never would’ve guessed that
He played Laid To Rest in a different key and tuning than the original. It uses drop D tuning, using the Phrygian scale with a couple of extra chromatic notes
This is great
I am starting to love this band even more.

I wouldn’t refer to August Burns Red as the ‘roots’ of metalcore. They’re definitely metalcore, but the roots of metalcore were planted in the 90s by bands like Zao.
