Good to see - remember Coventry City at Molineux we were both going for the old second division championship- a crowd of 55000! That U.S.A. tour post 1967 promotion season, when we beat Aberdeen with a certain Frank Munro in their ranks to win this mini American Cup- i also remember David Burnside for us having a great tournament! Blimey what halcyon days they were, and thanks for the footage of our promotion away days in '67!
Brings back great memory. Was on one of the coaches that went to Plymouth to see the derek Dougan debut. Was on Plymouth Ho at 7am. Noisy on coach going down but everyone tired and slept on the long journey home. Great days and what a player peter Knowles would have become. ⚽️👋
Just got your link from seeing your WWFC badge on a Northern Soul comment. The Crystal palace game in May 1967 was incredible for the hot weather, but what a shock the stadium was (and the result) as there was only one covered stand and 3 open. We were at the right and me and my mates sat on the grassy bank above the concrete steps. My first game was 16th November 1957, aged 6 years and 2 weeks at the Molineux, against the Baggies, 1-1. My dad, a Baggie fan, god bless him, took me for a birthday treat. But I came out a Wolf. From 17 years old onwards Fridays or Saturdays were spent at the Catacombs. KTF. Living on the Costa del Sol for 26 years now (2020)
I was 5 yrs old then but I still remember my dad taking me down the old Vetch field to watch Swansea Town. Great old times, not quite the class of the Wolves back then!! Great video to watch many thanks. Up the Wolves!!
brilliant great to see such memories. I was only 6/7 at the time and used to listen on the radio i think it was radio 2 then. This was before radio birmingham came about if i remember well. I went to my first game when we beat cardiff if i remember 7-1. Correct me if i am wrong but i'm sure it was this season. Wolves ay we.
I was at the Den that day,we were beating Wolves 1-0 when Dougan equalizes at the death. As i was walking out,a Millwall fan(a moron) ran on the pitch. Dougan held his hand out for a handshake and got a whack instead. Peter Knowles was playing that day, what a waste of a fine talent.
wasnt a waste tho he still follows his beliefs to this day and lives around wolverhampton .. a loss to football maybe a wolves fan myself .. but saying what a waste a bit harsh
..you'll find it in the final scenes, the ground with terracing all the way around. '8.10 or 8.20., notice the ball played back and the wolves player smashes in a cracking volley and the fans jump up behind the goal. Your boys were going up....just as mine were going down, villa's decline of the previous 2 seasons continued for 3 more culminating in the shattering, humiliating drop into the old 3rd division, 1969/70 season; their worst ever season in the whole of Villa's history but the first when I started to follow them loyally as an 11 yr old!
@@lennylaa1686 thats at crystal palace greg - not coventry both back where we belong now, eh ! (i've followed wolves since same season 69/70...50 yrs in august since first game)
Andy..thanks for correction..it was a smoking volley, maybe a consolation goal..enjoyable film though. BTW, I noticed a lot of your very nice comments on the Pickettywitch and Polly vids. They passed me by at the time apart from ''Same Old Feeling'', so I have been catching up with all their superb vids. during past 3 weeks. Have you seen a very recent upload of ''Summertime Feeling'' from bluegutter from July,1971? Polly, I think, at her PW finest, so pretty and drop dead gorgeous in a nice, blue outfit and singing live and quite beautifully. Check her out, you'll be drooling!
Mistake to let Ronnie Allen go. If only Wolves had appointed Bobby Robson or a young Brian Clough. How different the history of football might have been
What lovely memories of a great time in our young lives i was at all the matches# thank you for this wonderful trip down memory lane x

Even this Baggie thinks that was great footage. Thanks for posting.
Great footage that . Proper players getting off the coach. No headphones or bling in sight.
Nice to see those grounds , some like reading mk Dons Brighton bit soulless , others like Fulham Norwich still have the history .

Miss the old grounds, so much soul and character, unlike the soulless grounds of today got Wigans awful ground mixed up with a B&Q 😂😅😅😅
4-1 defeat last day? COVENTRY !!!!
For Andy Lockett really. But great job Roger.
wonderful colour footage - pity theres nothing of Doogs' scrape with the Millwall fan and the chaotic title decider at Coventry. Otherwise, brilliant.
shame no film of the Coventry game at Highfield road
