Big fan of the Investigation ~ Middle 2002 remaster, it's one of my favourite songs in Ace Attorney. The guitar suits Matts' dudebro attitude really well.
The whole thing is SO good, I've been listening to the Trilogy Remastered Versions on Loop for a few days now. I think I have an obsession. You really manage to give all of these such respectful remastered without losing a single bit of the original and in my book that's one of the hardest bits. Some of these tweaks are SO fucking subtle. And this is gonna be predictable and I'm not even ashamed. This is THE DEFINITIVE VERSION of Pursuit ~ Questioning. I don't know what it is, I'm not a musician, so I can't get behing the technicality. But I've found myself listening to the original versions and just thinking... how is this even such an upgrade, when the original piece is already so much fun? The intro beats are brilliant, but the main melody POPS SO MUCH HOLY HELL. HOW ARE YOU THIS GOOD??? I had to comment this despite never really commenting on YT much.

Hi, I'm afraid I'm having a problem with the mod. When going to Wright & Co offices at the start of the 3rd case of JFA, my 3DS crashes with an Arm11 Exception error. I'm using a British 3DS with the British version of the game. I've only just added the mod and played upto that point without it. (I think the issue is likely with the Steel Samurai phone ringtone, which crashes the 3DS when it's supposed to be played, if someone could let me know which bcstm file that is so I can remove it that would be much appreciated) Can anyone can lend some advice?
@@JTPaper It's all good and thanks for the reply. I've removed the file and the mod works as intended. I speculate that its because the remastered ringtone is longer because its the whole song, so when the 3DS tries to load it as a Sound Effect, it can't handle it.
I really didnt like your Trials and Tribulations remaster but this one is very good.. I think the most successful track is Kurain Village.. followed by Scars Carved by Flames.. Shelly De Killer sounds too warm in this, you got the blues angle but it sounds too welcoming the original seemed much bleaker.. :) well just some feedback you probably dont need but good work! :)

I appreciate though that this is obviously how most remasters are worked out. but it sounded too close to the base midi. the instruments were not convincing to my ears. This remaster does not suffer from that nearly as much if at all, ive listen to this one about 15 times from start to end, its really good. I used to play around with Synthesia quite a bit back in the day, adding the various midi's to it and changing the instrument sounds around it always sounded so awkward. It reminded me of that experience and since im not a musician I felt the experience should be better. Perhaps id just been spoiled with this one here :)

Yet, some of them - like Announce the Truth 2002 - actually sound worse. Still, I think that as a whole, this remastering is an improvement over the DS version sound.

I NEED to know how you did this. This sounds simultaneously like a remake and a remaster. Like, a lot of the instruments sound like extremely high quality versions of the originals (even better than gyakuten soundbox), but also the tracks sound "modernized" in a way I can't explain. It's almost like sonic Generations? In that game, there were levels from classic and modern games, but both levels had classic and modern versions. Classic sonic versions of classic sonic levels were more so remakes of the original songs, and the modern versions were remixes. Modern versions of modern levels were remakes, and classic versions of modern levels were remixes. Like the classic versions of classic levels, this feels like an extremely faithful recreation of the original soundtrack, but with a breath of fresh air. This is just incredible. Like, I cannot put my thoughts into words accurately. I might buy the steam version of these games just to play with the mod. I already have the switch version, but like, I need this in my life.
I just extracted the midi's from the games and replaced the instruments. It's pretty easy actually. I really appreciate your kind words though, glad you enjoy it. I've made several remasters for the AA series so be sure to check those out if you like this one. :P

How is it you manage to directly extract some tracks or parts of them from the OST? I mean, for example, the elements from Pursuit. It's again very accurate! EDIT: This might just be me, but I don't like the way the bass sounds in Opening 2002... it's one octave too deep?
Yes, I pulled it down one octave. I thought it sounded better that way, sorry it didn't do it for you >.< As for extracting, I use VGMTrans to get the midis and instrument libraries from the games. Very useful tool.

All of it is amazing, but, what I'm probably most surprised at is how you were able to make Phoenix's ringtone way less annoying than the original.
I also extended it so it plays the whole steel samurai song. Otherwise I wouldn't have remastered it since there's not much you can do with an old school ringtone, haha
