Yes, it is a treat when you can sit in First Class. You get to sit on the curve of the front part of the aircraft...So, you almost can see the front of the aircraft as the pilots do..Real cool...
I had some wonderful flights as well on the CX 747 in the very seat you were in, 1A as well. It is great you videoed this. If Cathay bites the dust this will be an historical recording of a great airline at its best.
This is a great video I went with Cathay Pacific back in 2009 from London Heathrow to Hong Kong to Melbourne Australia in the economy class and I had the best experience ever and plus that was my first time ever on a plane and I decide to do a 24hr journey haha! anyway I looking to try out the first class soon by looking at your video it looks great :)
It is always nice when you depart from international airports, you see the large aircraft siting parked and taking off..It is sweet!!!! You know the bug guys that fly!!!!
You get some great views taking off on 7R from Hong Kong if the weather is reasonably clear. Sometimes you fly right over Hong Kong Island or make a right turn just before; either provides brilliant views. Nice video of the lounges at HKG. One of my favourite airports. HND is so much more convenient for Tokyo than Narita.
This is amazing i would love to fly first class. Gives me some motivation to work hard and have a good income to be able to afford this kind of living :)
***** That's true for the regionals, but once you get a few years under your belt and you start flying for the majors, you get into six figures pretty quickly. A 747 pilot is definitely not making $30k.
From a quick Google search, the least a Delta Captain can get paid is $173/hr (and it goes up to $263/hr.) Granted, a first-year FO "only" makes $68/hr (though a second-year FO could be making nearly double that depending on the type he's flying.) Like I said before, you're right that the regional pilots don't get paid much, but they get paid pretty well once they start flying for the majors.
Speedbird Yeah, miles are definitely the best way to get in First (inter-con First, at least.) Still, though, unless it's something crazy like Etihad's Apartments or the point difference is small, I'd still normally prefer to fly business for inter-cons and save the extra points for future flights. When paying in actual cash, though, inter-con First is usually more of an alternative for when your Gulfstream is in the shop than a viable option for people with normal incomes.
Amazing video, I'm doing an informative speech presentation on the experience of flying first class I am asking if I may use your video as an example. Your video was the best I found on RUclips that had all I needed on it.
You might want to add some travel type music in the background? Especially during the times you have the camera starring outside the window for long periods of time- I was (literally) falling a sleep :(
That was a very good film and has made me look forward to flying again with CP. I found your filming was very good except I thought you may have been better with a wider angle lens for the interior. Does CP have twin seats in 1st? I travel with my wife and I don't think she would care to be seated across the aisle. We are thinking of BNE HKK LHR return in a few months. Probably business class which is nice as well. Thanks for this film!
question: Are the items on the menu that you show while in the wing lounge free? I've never done 1st class and I always wondered if the bar/food was included. Thanks for uploading. good job
it's so sad that even though you've paid thousands of dollars, your sleep still is disturbed by all the unimportant PA announcements and you can't change anything about that :(
Sorry but give me economy any day. I would rather have a person next to me to chat to rather than 8+ hours in my own little pod without even seeing anyone or being able to talk to anyone except for the flight attendant who comes to see me for a few seconds.
You can have the economy seat -- more room for people who can appreciate first/business class. I fly a lot and those small seats are very uncomfortable. And lord help you if you get stuck next to an obnoxious person. I want to eat, sleep, do a little work and maybe watch a movie. I'll take my private pod!!!! And please do me a favor, if I get stuck in economy some day and sit next to you, please don't talk to me. I'm really not interested in what you have to say (and I don't mean you personally, but the general "you" to mean everyone.)
thumbun After being stuck next to a guy who insisted on sleeping for more or less the entire 13 hours between KUL-LHR and taking up most of my space in the process, I can only agree!
I am only 5'2" tall and 8 stone. so don't really have a problem with small economy seats LOL. I have flown a little.Have never experienced any obnoxious people tough. maybe you were just unlucky (or didn't have the privilege of siting next to me LOL). until you chatted to me you would have no idea if you were interested in what I had to say or not. Happy travels :)
You're one of those annoying people that wants to chat during the flight! Nothing worse than being stuck next to someone who won't shut up. Noise cancelling headphones are the best.
TheTb11111111 And are you one of those unsociable types, who will one day wake up hating the world and go mad with a machine gun from a tall building, ????,
because usually people fly on business or whatever. Many times covered by employers or a tax writeoff. When people fly with their families it is much more common to fly coach.

It is cute when you are on your aircraft and your are taxing and you see another aircraft take off. It is joy to see that..
Excellent sound from those Rolls Royce engines! Seems you had the cabin all to yourself!
my-tripreport.com I thought they'd upgrade people from business class if there are empty first class seats.
Unlikely unless business is oversold.
u must really like engines
... He dose
The shadow of the 747-400 on the runway is very cute...You saw your self a little bit!! Cute...
I had some wonderful flights as well on the CX 747 in the very seat you were in, 1A as well. It is great you videoed this. If Cathay bites the dust this will be an historical recording of a great airline at its best.
i like the engine sound and the wonderful space & food
Great video. It's cool to fly on a 744. I really like the view during the take-off at HKG
Brilliant video! I think I may start making them in this style when I go to Tokyo!
Very nice shot of the 748 cargo...
Very interesting video! Thanks a lot!
great video...as real as if I was there !!
nice videos and all images were very clear good job!
nice review! Thanks. Nice aircraft.
got to tell you in my opinion cathay is one of the best airline I been on

you want a real experience why don't you try flying one. piloting is where it's at.

+Hue G Rection First Class is not a waste of money, I generally fly First with miles and it is worth it!

Looking very nice...Yes, when you pay for first class service you get extras...
Just LUV Chek Lap Kok Airport!
awesome mate! liked!
Amazing video, I'm doing an informative speech presentation on the experience of flying first class I am asking if I may use your video as an example. Your video was the best I found on RUclips that had all I needed on it.
Sure, as long as the original video isn't altered in any way.
Thats a lovely video. Just wanted to know what camera did you use.
Regards.

They don't have any twin seats in first - they're all single suites.
how did it take off ? it was moving so slow
nice! what video camera you using?
Take off and landing scare me like few things can.
it is really cool video can i ask how much do you pay for the fly ?
'Hotel California' from 17:37 to 17:48 :-)
Flying F class in Cathay is so choice!
Is it nice onboard??????? Because I want to go on it!!!!!!!!
How much was the ticket?
question: Are the items on the menu that you show while in the wing lounge free? I've never done 1st class and I always wondered if the bar/food was included. Thanks for uploading. good job
Yes, all the food and drink is included.
Quanto t"e" costato il biglietto?
What was the flight number?
Damn that looked like a heavy take off. The throttle went up instead of down and he was climbing slow
There’s 5* then ther is HK 5*, there’s no comparison. Miss my expat life in HK. But boy, what an experience it was pre 97!
Yeah Mr White
19:40 WOW! Stones? LOL :-)
Doesn’t the engines sound like the ones the British Airways 747s and 757s have
HELLO MY PLEASE MAKE A BOOKING CATHAY PACIFIC BOEING 747-400 FLIGHT TICKET FOR ALL OF US GO TO HONG KONG
cool
Fab tap
The 1st class lounge sounds like a bloody war-zone!!
I could see why.
Its business class not first class
It depends
it's so sad that even though you've paid thousands of dollars, your sleep still is disturbed by all the unimportant PA announcements and you can't change anything about that :(
Very shaky.... other than that good!
I definitely do like the Airbus A380 the best. It's TONS quieter than the 747. Not to mention a lot bigger, also.
But CX dosent have a A-380
NO WAY
why you so rich????!!!
fake you

dear, this vid is far too long...!
poor video coverage
