This cheap mod was under $25 and only took me maybe an hour or two to finish. I tried to remove the mirror caps from my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and vinyl wrap them gloss black over the pearl white color matched ones that come on the Altitude package. Unfortunately, they're tough to vinyl wrap so I ended up breaking out the plastidip and glossifier to give myself a quick removable paint job on them. I probably could have used more glossifier and taken more time to get them to look even better, but they're not bad at all. Once you remove the mirrors, and the mirror caps once it becomes super easy! Everything I recommend you using is linked above on Amazon.

Bro you need to try the HyperDip Piano Black. I just did my grille inserts and it came out looking like factory paint! 💯
Place the cans in a large bowl with warm water. Once you're done prepping and after shaking well the dip will spray much more evenly.

Why not paint? I have a 2015 Limited and I would like to color match the chrome to the body color. Do you or any of the subscribers have any experience with painting out chrome. The brand I am planning on using is, Automotive Touchup paint. Thoughts? Great channel, glad I found you.
You should try SuperWrap. They are based out of Canada and the gloss black seems way nicer.

@Francisco Hi if you download an OBD app that enables customization then you will be able to enable and disable the button and disable the auto disable feature I had the same issue with mine. The app I used was OBD JScan. Hope this helps
What size are your wheels and tire set up? Offset also please.
22x9.5 I think the offset on all of the hellcat reps is +18

It’s super easy to remove! I’d just do it to get the clean edge easier

Next time put the can in hot water to warm it up. Comes out way better
Heavier coats would prevent the textured finish. I recently did the same thing to my Jeep.
Maybe I’ll go back and fix it up again another day!
Not sure what year your jeep is but my 14 Srt mirror caps will not come off. Had my mirrors wrapped in 5D carbon fiber vinyl... :)
2018! I’d assume it’s similar on the older models of Wk2s though that’s weird lol

I think High Gloss Black spray paint with a high gloss clear coat would have worked out better.
Probably would have been smoother, but I like that I can remove this whenever!

If you use 2k clear, you can have shining results.
You should’ve kept the covers on the mirrors, then wrap them

Hi There, why not just buy the black caps? My limitedx has gloss black. Sure you can order them instead of painting.
You can only find the chrome ones through MOPAR etc so it's a super pain!

You really should look at getting the auto stop elimator dongle. Would be a good video with a lot of hits. People are fed up with no choice on the stop start. Have it on my limitedX
I was able to disable it with the Tazer so I don’t have to worry about the start stop anymore!
Yeah if you ever end up getting rid of those Pearl whites....I’ll buy them. Just plastidip and glossified mine last week but it’s just not the same as that OEM paint job
@@TimothyTurtle32 I just unplugged it at the battery. It keeps that light on the dash. But I tricked my brain into thinking it’s the AUTO 4WD light
Do you run her through car washes? Let us know if it holds up. I generally go to Autowash.
I typically hand wash / use the self service car wash setup!
