When they mentioned Skull and Bones I was worried they would just give you a copy of AC4 with a sticky note that says Skull and Bones. Now I wish they had.
I've never played AC4, or any AC game for that matter. I fully believe, however, a remaster of AC4 on the Xbox One would've made Ubisoft money while they got to establish the basis for Skull & Bones on more modern hardware. Effectively updating the assets, while making money on the side.
Don't worry I'm sure some random developer in a small European country will come up with a better pirate life simulator. But for real, it's hilarious how TCG Shop Simulator is an early access game that is so fun and addictive we've got several Hololive members and Dokibird who've practically boosted that game to the moon. And I can say from personal experience of playing collectively 12 hours of that game that its super fun (do recommend some speed up mods for now until the devs update it some more). Meanwhile this Skull and Bones game is truly bland. Edit: Actually Sutekh (Set) wasn't always characterized as evil. It was the rewrites between rulers that led to his evil reputation as the gods played musical chairs on who was considered more important. Source? A Yu-Gi-Oh nerd who had an obsession with Egyptian mythology and history for my middle school to high school years and devoured any information I could find.
@34:13 from my understanding, it's become common practice in the triple a space to ignore design documents and not even make them in the first place. The rationale behind it being that design docs change all the time, sometimes rapidly in the same day, and the end product rarely ends how they envisioned it at the beginning. That mostly stems from what I've heard from many devs that actually work in the industry and while I myself don't work in the industry, I get the suspicion that many devs and managers don't realize how short sighted and disorganized that prerogative is.
I am glad to hear that your enjoying your time in Sea of Thieves Kip. But yeah the thing your referencing in regards to reapers is that they are able to turn in any loot from any of the trading companies, and that any company including reapers can raise an emissary flag to act as a loot value multiplier, which when it gets to level 5 gives you a 2.5 multiplier, but for the repears specifically also gives the benefit of allowing you and your crew to see every other ship on the map thats sailing with an emissary flag, regardless of where they are.
Kudos for knowing the truth about Anubis, lol. I've actually got a video saved on my channel (Private) from several years ago when me and my friends watched Nostalgia Critic's review of the 2017 "The Mummy" movie (the one with Tom Cruise) and how much of it was SO stupid. Anubis being a God of Death is "accurate", but he's not *THE* God of Death in the Egyptian pantheon. But that's an issue for the original Mummy series, since the Tom Cruise one went a step past that and said Anubis was a God of EVIL. Set, the Egyptian God of Darkness and Evil, basically Egyptian Lucifer is sitting RIGHT OVER THERE, and those hack writers just decide to slap "Evil" onto Anubis!?! How lazy can you get? Hilariously, me and my friends improved the Tom Cruise mummy movie by leaps and bounds with a very simple concept, lol. Instead of being scouted by the evil egyptian princess so she can have him be possessed by "Anubis-in-name-only" and help her take over the world, she scouts Tom Cruise's character to be possessed by SET, the ACTUAL God of Evil. But whatever voodoo she did to try and mark Tom Cruise as a target for Set attracted Anubis' attention, and HE went, "Sit down, emo boy, I call dibs!" to take over Tom Cruise instead. Why? Because unlike what happened in the actual movie, where Tom Cruise was able to resist possession by the EVIL God because F--k you, that's why (and the power of love or something equally stupid), Anubis just wants to borrow Tom Cruises body so they can put down the egyptian princess. Because Anubis' purview NOT ONLY makes him the kind of God who would NOT go around making mummies, he is the God who would be actively shouting, "YOU GET THE F--K BACK IN THAT TOMB RIGHT NOW!!!" To any undead he finds. It would be a bit of a twist ending, but me and my friends actually elaborated ALL the ways it could have been played with and hinted at early on, so when the big possession moment happens and Tom Cruise stands back up, glowing eyes and covered in shadows, it wouldn't be a complete ass-pull for the mummy Egyptian princess to say, "My lord~..." and have Cruise's character say, *"WRONG GOD, BITCH"* before backhanding her across the room.
AC4 black flag enjoyers: you were this close from greatness ubisoft: wee dwinq dumbb jewce I mean older demos look better that the final product like as if those demos look more like ac4 in there ship mechanics and ubisofts than ubisofts AAAA game
@FubukiTheIcyKing point is you could have taken the Singaporean gov money mad the game from the bones of black flag and had some to spare for the suits but they choose to drink, the weetardio potion I mean ac4 and the 2017 demo don't look all that different
sea of thieves is not a fun time online, even with friends if you just want to have a jolly pirate time doing quests there are always some who will deliberately sail after you just to sink your ship to halt or delete your progress for no gain of their own other than the enjoyment of making others miserable, i dont care that safer seas are 70% reduced moneygain or locked to lvl 40 and below or no reaper/athena quests to do, im finally able to play the game as it want to without some dipshit experienced galleon rolling up on me every 10 minutes to play earrape in voice chat while sinking my sloop, after what ive endured i will never go on high seas again
When you sail the high seas, you actively are choosing to sail alongside other pirates that can attack and plunder you at any point in time for any reason. Some do it to steal your treasure, some do it because they are seeking a fight, and some do it to kill boredom. If you are actively looking to do the game's PVE quests and aren't interested in fighting, then that's what Safer Seas is for. Not everyone can handle the stress of being in a mode where pvp is always available and a constant threat. And I'm sorry to hear you ran into such terrible experiences, but you never really know the kind of people you will run into on the seas, and that's the danger and thrill of it. I've met horrible try hards and cheaters, but I've also met lifelong friends just by sailing the high seas, but I fully understand that the high seas is not for everyone. I only hope you can enjoy the game still in the safer seas.
@@Kyata101I think that's the issue, that Safer Seas is by all measures practically a pre-Alpha decision brought out years too late. It's good that it's here now for Nightmare, but it feels like a mistake born of stubbornness that they held out on it so long. I might be misremembering but I do think there was some correspondence from the devs doubling down on it being PvP-only in the past, and Lord that cut off a lot of the prospective playerbase.
I've ofcourse run into pleasant people but it's so far outweighed by the griefers, partially because of safer seas because the majority of easygoing people have already been bullied out of high seas and are only in safer seas now like me, and their insistence on not making more pve objectives or even co-op missions where people have to work together to complete, things like the burning blade just further incentivises people indiscriminately sinking others even if they are just minding their own business fishing and have no real value to the burning blade crew
There's 2 types of delays in the gaming industry. - Skulls and Bones type - Delayment hell because the game is in development hell and in no way a working state and it's likely to not come to a proper release - Stalker 2 type - The game is either delayed because of understandable reasons or simply becase it needs that final bit of polishing to not have certain issues they can fix now instead of after the game launched, but you feel secure about it because they've shown everything is in the right tracks and want the game to be released when it's finished, not when it's barely there, respectful to the players.
Kip, I love how 70% of RUclips Channels I watch now, I only know because of your reacts. You are one of the only react-channels I know that actually have some intelligent/funny/insighfull things to say on most topics.
When you are playing a game and you are interacting with a MPC if they are a important MPC character and you need their backstory I see no problem with them telling their backstory to you but if there is a non-essential MPC player and they have a backstory it should be optional to choose to listen to their backstory instead of them just blurting it out without you wanting to hear it😢
45:25 chalkpens do exist ... either as holders for chalk sticks or as markers where the chalk is suspended in a liquid medium similar to a sharpy. The german brand Edding makes some.
I love pirates, I QA'd a game called Pirates of the Burning Sea, it was basically WoW with Pirates, you could raid ports, PvP on the sea, you could land a distance away from a town and sneak in, you could import your own jolly roger / flags.. it was amazing, but about a month before it's released the Publisher dropped it and it never got a proper release
Man, I would love to play Elite with you at some point. But, I'm mainly a miner / trader running around in my mining Anaconda with no experience with the thargoids. The most I deal with is PvE against bandits wanting my sweet sweet refined ore.
For the excessive NPC dialog thing, they could've relegated that to crew members. That way, not only would you have something to do while traveling, but since those NPCs are actually along for the adventure, they can be active participants in the very subquests they give. Ship crews are supposed to be a pretty close-knit group, being stuck together for months at a time. The crew members having interesting backstories you can get to know over time would help with immersion. As long as it's all optional of course. Some players just don't care.
As a devout Christian I believe we should help everyone who needs to be helped. But as a devout American I believe we should get ourselves fixed right before we help others. Because there is children in America who needs help first. And there is citizens of America that need help before we help others. Once we are standing healthy and strong and we have extra money and extra resources we should help our number one Ally to get on their feet and socially and physically healthy and then if we still have resources to help our number two Ally and so forth and so forth before we help others we must help ourselves get healthy and strong before we help others to get healthy and strong. I am a American and I want America first. But I'm also a Christian and I want to help everyone that needs to be helped. I suppose you should go with your Christian belief system to help the people who need the most help first but I am American and I want American to be helped first before we help others. I guess you have to do what your conscience direct you to do. And you have to accept the consequences of your decisions may it be good or bad because it is up to you to choose what you believe is right and appropriate to do.

Wonder if that's a location issue since I have a distribution center in my area. I also don't order a ton of electronics and, when I do, I try to research and find a company that's actually trustworthy even if they're a bit more expensive, unless it's something very basic like an aux cord or a charging cable or etc. Weirdly I think most of what I buy on amazon are kindle books and like, jars of spices or canned foods that I can't otherwise find here.
