They may share the same name and the same silhouette but I've always considered the Strider SnG and the Protech SnG to be completely different knives. I think your video really highlights this.
If you ever get a Strider PT for review, it would be cool to do a head to head with your Para 3 w/ the Worker 3 scales on it. It would put the two at a closer price point and would be sort of homemade vs production.

I carry the protech sng operator every day! It’s my favorite knife. I went and got an aftermarket deep carry clip on eBay and it’s great

Thanks for this review, I bought the pro-tech. I lusted after the Strider for years but not anymore. For the price lock stick is completely unacceptable!!!!

omg!!!! i finally found someone who agrees with me about chris reeves knives. everyone else thinks im crazy and dont know what im talking about. they are overpriced for what they are

if someone could make a nail nick lockback sng that would be sick, i love the sng but hate frame locks, the protech no stupid hole in the blade and also the blade retention the blade is basicly locked which i like, also the protech is machined perfectly for the blade, if you squeeze the handle near the pivit on the framelock the blade wont open vs the protech the design and tolerances are perfect and no flow through design to slice up your pocket, i was carring a tip down xm 24 once and the blade being open construction my pocket got sliced up and ruined my pants, thats part of why i hate frame locks and how the frame lock is milled so its paper thin just looks so stupid to me. the sng fits my hand so great though and the blade to handle ratio isnt great but if not choked up it has reach and basicly a spear like if you slamed it into an attackers rib cage, it will cut deep anyway.
I have the operator on my wishlist with bladehq and the price has jumped to $350 now 😢. To much considering the normal non black out with same materials is almost 200 less.

Protech - makes better Strider's than Strider
Your strider is an older model, they haven’t made the CC in years. The newer M Striders are much thinner behind the edge and great cutters.
The cost is not subjective because your comparing Ti, frame lock, 20cv vs Aluminum, 154cm. If protech made a Ti frame lock version of this knife with the same materials cost would be a wash, and that would change the value conversation as well.
Action, well no Strider is going to be “drop shutty” but prefer the manual opening and closing of the SNG. I’m also not a big fan of size opening autos. Striders are hard use tools and designed as such and most of the fan base doesn’t care about “fidget factor “

All totally fair points! And I didn’t know the newer ones were thinner BTE, that’s good to know! I totally get why some people would prefer the Strider to the protech. I’d love for Protech to make some Ti/20cv SNG’s haha
His is an M Strider SnG. It’s fairly new. >2017 and in 20CV
they do make a ti protech and its like 650$ still has the 154cm blade.
I like the Protech, no stupid frame lock and a hole in the blafe for self defense is stupid. Just my luck some loon would be trying to kill me and the hole would get caught on my clothes or his.

You just want to get hate from the every fanboy from every company. Funny how there are people who think Chris Reece is the only knife maker and everything is junk. There are strider fanboys that think his knives are the only thing worth buying. I can only imagine the comments. If you say anything bad about a strider you might as well insult the fanboy’s wives and kids lol. I actually had a gunner grip and I wasn’t bothered by it. I think it’s just some people like it, some don’t.
Totally fine with me if people have different preferences than I do 👍🏻

I've read that the sng cc is actually made by Medford. If anyone can confirm this, I'd appreciate it.
I have a Protech sng in green micarta, acid washed blade and grey hardware. Excellent knife. I never thought I'd get an actual Strider but I finally got an smf tanto tiger striped blade, aluminum show side, titanium flamed clip side. Very impressed with it. It has super early lockup but it's very tight when it locks, with just a touch of lock stick. But it's breaking in nicely. When I first got it, I had to use two hands to disengage the lock. Now I can do it with my thumb. And it has a very smooth closing action. And I can now say I have the holy trinity.
I think that you’re thinking of the AR.75 model, that knife is made by medford.
