Being able to hear the wind and water around the boat is so important. I really finally had the experience of sailing.

Nice vid but please tell me that the whining noise inside close hauled wasn’t the rigging humming? Or was it?
I’d really love to know please. Thanks

So you are cery close to the apparent wind. But real windangle looks around 35°

Hello, is it to much wind for a code 2 (or 0)... Nice boat. Gonna have one in the future, I hope (From Portugal). Best regards and waiting for new videos

José Andrade, thanks. RIght now, the boat only has a code 0, the self-tacking jib and the main. An asymmetrical spinnaker is on the way soon though. For the most part, we were running typically 30-45 degrees of apparent wind and 50-65 true wind, as our destination was almost directly upwind. I'm still waiting for the official word from the dealer/sailmaker but I think the code 0 would be used in less than 15 knots at these angles, but could have worked at slightly higher angles at these wind speeds and a code 2 would be for even higher angles. At around 7-9 knots boat speed for most of the trip, we were fairly happy with the speed as we weren't in a rush or racing. By the time the wind died down to ideal code 0 range, we were almost there anyways.

wow - all the comments are like drs looking at a knee operation. Whats with the under cabin water close-up? Look here we are tacking - same apparent - no instructions - need to re-title video

Sorry to ask as new to sailing but the humming seemed to pretty loud in the cabin area is that due to the mast positioning. As out of all the videos I've watched on this boat and the 450s its the first time I've heard it.

Andrew Crawford thanks for asking! I am not sure the exact source of the noise. My best guess is it is from the wind on the mast at the high upwind angles when the wind speed is up. It could be interaction of the wind with other parts of the rigging as well. The engines were off and there is no generator and it wasn't from an electrical system. The noise was not there when heading more downwind and was not there when the wind speed was lower. It might be the wind getting to a slot in the mast. Maybe someone else on the web can help figure it out.

Water Dragon thank you for your reply it has helped we do appreciate it I will be at the LGM Boat show in a few weeks time and I will ask one of the Lagoon. reps and let you know of there response.

Hi OK back from the show if you hear the noise again go round and check your rigging by holding on to it if the humming stops then that stay needs adjustment quick fix attach rubber bungee cord between the rigging as this should eliminate the noise. If you can't find any problem with the rigging contact your broker as it might be an issue with the mast nothing serious so no worries. Hope this helps also looks like we will be purchasing ours in the next couple of months so appreciate any feed back on what you would have purchased or not purchased from lagoon. Good Luck.

Andrew Crawford thank you! I figure it is probably some part of the rigging looser than it should be. Happy with the boat so far. Ask me in 10 years and I will have a better answer of course but so far so good.
