For me, "Je suis malade" is their "tour de force". It left me in floods of tears with not only the vocals, but the emotion it was delivered with. (Not just me but at least two of the ladies watching them live). And, it was the same Tenor/Baritone (Bae Doo-Hoon) whom, you highlighted in this performance who sold the pathos in "Je suis malade". I'm also a fan of Queen back to before they were famous, and... I'm going to say it...there are parts of Bohemian Rhapsody where they are even better than Freddie. For me, Forestella have delivered it, EXACTLY as Freddie saw it in his mind. And when Cho Mingyu sang "Mama just killed a man"... as a mum it pulled more on my heartstrings than Freddie delivery. 😭 Speaking of Cho Mingyu, his solo "Ballade Para una Loco" is magnificent Theatre.
Angel is absolutely gorgeous, as is Hijo de la Luna. Their cover of Smooth Criminal is also really good, I think it showcases their versatility and some different vocal skills than we’ve seen in other performances? Would be cool to hear your thoughts as a professional vocalist. On my first listen Smooth Criminal, while definitely good, doesn’t sound quite as impressive as some of their other performances, but listening more carefully I wonder if the flawless harmonies and blends are more difficult (and thus impressive) than I realize…
