- Surprise study vlog! Happy Friday friends, hope your week went well! In today's vlog, I’ll be studying for my second pediatrics exam in 72 hours. As you can tell by the title, I ended up failing the exam. This was a huge bummer as I already failed the first exam and had my confidence at an all time low. Honestly, this semester has been a roller coaster of emotions, with aced exams and celebrations on one hand and then poor scores and emotional breakdowns on the other hand.
As many viewers are also students, whether you’re in the nursing program or not, I hope my vlogs can bring you some peace and encouragement as I show not only my successes but also my failures. It doesn’t matter if you’re a straight A student or a struggling college student like myself, we’re all in this together! We’re all just trying to get through this crazy chapter of our life, called school, before reaching for our dreams.
I also want to encourage everyone to not let scores define who you are. Poor grades do NOT mean that you are a failure. Everyone is different. Some people are really great test takers. Others are street smart and excel in clinical practice. No matter where you fall, I want you all to know that I see your hard work. I know that you’ve put in the time and effort into studying, into applying for internships, into finding jobs. I believe in you, completely. I’ll be cheering for you every step of the way, as you accomplish your goals and beyond.
Since I know my viewers are already the sweetest and will return the encouraging messages to me after watching this vlog, I want you all to know that I love yall 3000. I’m always so overwhelmed by your kindness and encouragements as I read through the comments in each vlog. I often give messages/advice that are “Do as I say, not as I do” LOL but I’m slowly but surely learning to follow my own advice!

Anywayss, there are only 2 more study vlogs left of the spring semester before I start my summer/externship vlogs! I hope yall will enjoy those just as much as you enjoy the study vlogs!

I failed my first exam last semester with a 50-something. We need a 75 to pass and I was bummed. I passed the second exam with a 75. I failed nursing school twice but was allowed to come back because of Covid to redo med surg. I take the time to celebrate the successes, like scoring a few points better on a exam that I failed, then reviewing them later and doing better on those questions for the finals. I bought these success books that have a ton of practice questions for each topic and they’ve helped a bunch with my classes. I’m so happy that you’re still in your program. You’ll be an amazing nurse! I’ve learned that your grades don’t define how well you will be in that profession. I failed my phlebotomy exams in school and I’ve been a phlebotomist two years today with patients telling me that I’ve done a good job. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’ll do great!

I needed this today! It's my first semester in nursing school and my exams are coming up next month. Some are oral exams and I hate it because it makes me really anxious. I completely understand how you feel. Before I was studying to be a preschool teacher (before COVID and studying to be a nurse in the Pre-Nursing Program before switching majors), I too felt exactly like this. A and P is the hardest class. The fact that you focused on the positives shows incredible resilience! G and D milestones are hard for me to remember, too. You've got this! Don't give up!

Wow thank you for being open about your hardships I’m in a physical therapy program rn and my last semester I was barely passing my exams and had to go through a couple of retakes which gave me mad imposter syndrome. I forget to reinforce the positives of life because I tend to beat myself up over my mistakes!!
just finished my jr year of high school online and didn’t obtain any knowledge and was wondering if i was worthy of even going to college and majoring in nursing, reading the description made me feel relaxed. thank you as always & i hope you achieve all of your goals :’))

@@ray325 im sorry to hear that :( online schooling is tough! i believe that it takes away from the full potential of the program, especially for students who learn best with hands on experience. if you're struggling with grades like myself, i would highly encourage you to reach out to your professors and even your peers! ask your profs to see if they can go over exam questions with you or do some practice problems together! nursing school is tough but i believe that we can beat it~ 💪🏼

I’m scared that I’ll keep failing even as I start my journey as nursing student. My mindset was “how am I going to pass my classes when I go to university if right now I’m already failing”. Thank you for your words in the end of the video and in the description. This is my first year of nursing school and online school and I'm already tired. I failed my first biology exam, the second one is near and I'm dreading it. I'm currently studying the changes a baby goes through when they leave the womb and there's so much information 😭 I did well in the first exam but this one looks so much harder.

last session for me was very traumatizing because of peds😩 first time I ever failed an exam. i'm honestly still recovering from it, lol. I'm taking OB and informatics right now and it's been a breather. be proud of your accomplishments and stay positive like you are. Peds was my hardest exam by far and I failed exam 2x also but the 3 is a charm! The failing grades dont mean we are not cut for nursing, it just gives us the opportunities to correct our weak areas and critically think more! love your videos and they are so motivivating, I know u work hard for your exams! practice questions and rationals were and still are my best study method!
