Tom’s betrayal has been set up all along and a last straw was Shiv’s lack of consideration for Tom’s position on the run up to the sibling coup. It was both a surprising and earned moment.
about the kendall confession scene!!! i totally agree roman and shiv didn’t know how to process and cope with the situation so their reactions were perfect representations of what they normally do when they feel emotions they’re uncomfortable with. roman dismisses his feelings in favor of making jokes and shiv puts up a front like nothing is wrong and she’s not hurt. i loved the moment when kendall and roman are walking together and roman awkwardly pats his head because that was a genuine attempt from roman to show him comfort and love but you can also see how unfamiliar that feels to him. they’re all so broken i couldn’t help but feel a lot of empathy for the situation they’re in because despite the kind of people they are, they didn’t choose their family and no child deserves to grow up with a father like logan
He meant for them to do it on their own, like he did. They expected to continue in the company and make money through Logan’s company. Logan wanted them to make their own way in the world.
@@hrussell9677 What? Shiv has a job outside the company for the whole first season and Logan is trying to convince her to quit that since episode 1. Logan even tries to convince Kendall to come back in the season 1 finale before finding out about the bear hug. Not really though? Kendall was fucking up the company with Vaulter and Shiv refused to do management training or even ride the golden elevator up the ranks of the company that logan offered her. I don't generally side with Logan but they framed themselves as heroes saving the company from being sold under their feet, it was just entitlement and fighting for their dads love. Tom’s arc was well done this season in my opinion.
I think the most interesting part of this episode is the scene was supposed to be over sooner but they kept rolling and the actor of Tom went to hug Shiv and she played along with her betrayed look. From the moment Tom went in and asked what happened to the end. The improvised this all. Such masterful acting from both Shiv and Tom actors. The finale of the serie is so much more yet we saw it coming from the beginning.
going off what Jaby was saying, the kids could’ve had their own loyalists but they fucked that up and it did them in the end Ken could’ve had Greg, Roman could’ve had Gerri and Shiv could’ve had Tom
Tom's betrayal was the most jaw dropping moment of the season and of the show to that point. I've been on Tom's side the whole time but it was in this episode that my wish for him to win the throne became less of a fantasy and more of a possibility
Yeah same , tho for me it was more bitter-sweet, while it was sweet to see him finally get a W, it also kinda made Shiv s biggest fears seem more valid - aka the fact that he married her to climb the ladder. I aint saying that was the IT reason(tho I do think it was probably 50%, I dont believe Tom d pick Shiv if she was a nobody), but after this move in my mind there is no reality in which Tom ever shakes that narrative.
Logan knew he had won. He probably just invited the siblings in to gloat in their face, and kick them away. Thats his way of operating with the kids - first love them and then kick them away.
Like Tom told Kendall in episode 3x06, his hunch is that he's going to get f*cked because he's seen him get f*cked before, but he's never seen Logan get f*cked once. It was an easy choice for Tom because he knows who always comes out on top in these situations. He saw a way to take out three Roy siblings at once and he took it.
That hug with Greg is the most loving thing Tom's experienced in this show. Logan dangled the company like a carrot for the kids to fight over their entire lives, and then changed his mind at the last moment. All that trauma was for nothing.
3:59 Roman offers himself to go with Logan to talk to Mattson, Logan turns him down, Shiv offers herself and Logan turns her down and tells Roman to come.
Jaby has committed himself so hard to the "these are bad people, i cant feel sorry for them" stance that it clouds his vision for the nuances of these characters. And thats very disappointing

Frank, Karl, and Geri. And what are they doing? They’re WORKING. While the kids are making fools of themselves, they’re doing the work.
One observation about the Roman deal thing is that - although he did the legwork - once the two bosses met, Logan and Lukas - it was made apparent that Roman is no longer essential. Hence, the deal was already brought to the table by Roman - which is why Logan even says "come on Romulus" but the ask for what he brings is to consider his other ask of not selling the company. In other words, "What leverage do you have that makes keeping this company, and for you to take over - be more valuable for me than selling it to Lukas."
I do understand the point of the characters not being objectively good, but at this point hearing it from Jaby every episode and it being why he's not being able to empathize is a bit tired. And it's not in a way this is asking him to empathize, it's more that the statement reused and repeated feels a bit unintelligent because it's not actually the entire point of it.

@kvm6 You must have incredibly low standards of treatment. Yes, the Shiv who cheated on him several times while they were engaged, completely disregarded his feelings about possible imprisonment, constantly made him feel small, originally suggested that he bit a good fit for throwing under the bus before he basically threatened divorce on the beach at the end of season 2. Tom for the win!
Achara is looking amazing today,
Don't get me wrong "she is pretty" even without all this makeup and all.
But when she did any makeup, which is unlikely to happen, she looks prettier.
Simp
@@a004 I don't know how old you are kid, but I really don't care if you gen z's think praising a women's beauty in the most respectful manner should be considered as simp.
And don't worry kid, I didn't unlike you, I have raised above those disrespects. I am a GOD now.

It's sad that people like you don't have anything else to do with your time. Such a waste of life you are.
Get your bag, King Tom 👑
7:15 so both Connor and Kendall have temper tantrums about being the eldest son?
Bring on Season 4!!
Seriously.. Just binge it!! Stop being so inconsistent with the show.. For all we know you guys will spend next 6months to release the remaining 10 episodes 🤦♀
They are posting What if reactions daily that don't even get many views but succession comes once/twice a month.
Exactly
and now 3 episodes of echo are posted but two weeks later still no succession reaction
So judgmental guys holy fuck, it’s a funny story just enjoy it, this was painful to watch… and you edited out several of the best lines! Unsubscribed
After this series I recommend Jaby and Achara watching Lucifer...
I don’t think he was looking for their loyalty. I think he was going to do whatever he thought was best but checked to see if the kids brought something better
Why arent yall in the same room together? 😢☹️ Yo somethings happening behind the scenes that I wanna know about lol
Lol😅.. Calm down.. Achara is out of town with her family for christmas holidays.
Oh yeah, finally
Season 4 please!
About damn time lmao
The eldest son saga begins!
I care about the minutiae of running a RUclips channel! I’m interested in how the sausage gets made!
king tom
React to Dantes' cutscenes, hell please, great game
...you guys do realize that the Shiv was treating Tom like trash this ENTIRE series leading up right? And then literally the episode before told him she didn't love him to his face...
Oh was she treating him like trash?? Who got him the job at ATN? Her. Who suggested Ken be sacrificed and not Tom in s2 finale? Her.
Man, do you not watch the show or what? Tom literally tracked her periods so that he could make her pregnant and she was treating him like Trash.👏👏👏
The ENTIRE betrayal was a deliberate setup by the writers to payoff the emotional betrayal of Shiv. Wtf are you talking about are you dumb.
Tom's betrayal doesn't make sense. Logan didn't give anything to Tom
I thought your reaction in the end would be more loud and shocking. But you acted like it’s just like the other ten episodes
