Good video! Agas are indeed a specialist trade! Had one this week (total mess) the owner had a go at it! I had serviced it in the past, but over two years ago! Upon removal of the burner the bundi tube elbow fell off! It had been over tightened and stripped the thread (both the elbow and 3/8 x 1/8 reducer!) Of course the owner denied all knowledge of touching it (as usual), down to the local blacksmith to remove the seized in reducer and a new bundi tube assembly and it was good to go! Back in the day I would of said new burner base, but the shallow well burners are getting hard to come by! Best wishes from Arbroath!
Hi. Thanks for comment as always. Yes the shallow well getting harder to get. i have had to rethread a few 3/8 as they snap as you try to get them out even with heat but if you take your time they drill out! Have a good one Rob
My Aga caught fire 3 weeks after its service, high winds. Is this normal? My engineer said after fire valve is tripped it will still burn for 10 mins (I was in the kitchen thankfully and turn off manually as I was worried trip hadn’t worked)
Hi. Its unusual but possible. The fire valve does shut the oil off but it can take 10-15mins for the aga to turn off as the float control has to empty. Hope this helps. Have a good week. Rob
This is why hanging tea towels directly above the burner ash pit is not a good idea, although I understand how it happens. The burner will eventually shut off but by then the towels are on fire
Rob, just seen youve a store, i take it this is aimed at DIYers, as if your paying those prices for EPH stuff, i can get you a hell lot better price 😂😂
