McDonald’s always give children a gift in the Kiddies Meal. Children go back for the toys and often do not even eat the meal.

So glad this video link came up after viewing one of Brian Johnson's Philosopher's Notes. Just added so much value to my day. Thank you! ~N
Since when was Brian Johnson a philosopher? I thought he was just the singer for AC/DC?

Ernest Hammingway is a famous author.
brilliant talk - so informative
Inviting people to dinner and never getting invited back does stay in our minds. Especially, if the food and company was enjoyed. Then to find the party that never invites back are deemed to be unkind, and they have no intention to invite back for a meal. It’s okay, to just leave it alone. Invite them again if you feel like it. Because it’s not “tit for tat.”
Inspiring, fascinating...
Brilliant!

Re sweets/tips -- if they COUNT OUT the sweets, one, two, three (whatever) per person, I judge their generosity to be calculated. What impresses me is a random number of sweets NOT calculated per head. It's very, very rare. When I find it, I compliment them and tell them they passed my "generous host" test. (Plus the tip). That would have made a nice 4th condition for that study
that was good!
Hey Jordan.... Happy Birthday, dude! It's your birthday, what are your plans for the year?
Do it cause everyone else is doing it. An illusion of choice... make them obligatory subconsciously since it is already the norm and to not do it would be not the norm.
Did Cialdini answer the first question? If two mints was a norm, the guest wouldn't have a question in the first place!

Does anyone else think that Steven Pinker looks a bit like Thomas Gottschalk?
This sounds like symbiosism in marketing. Good tactic, I've seen this recently. It writes.
