One year ago this month, I found my birth mom in Korea. Since then, I’ve had the chance to get to know her. Being adopted as a baby and flown out at 5 months, separated from my birth mom, I now, as an adult, appreciate this song so much more. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t exist-especially in a country where women didn’t have the same support and being an unmarried mother wasn’t acceptable. She carried me alone, with no help, and I can’t imagine what she must have been feeling. The selflessness of a mother and the beauty of adoption are both so powerful and overwhelming, it's hard to explain or even put into words. This song feels so true because, even though I didn’t know it at the time or growing up, a birth mother’s love never fades or goes away.❤❤❤

I am an adopted child. You guys remind me so much of my REAL parents (the ones who adopted me). Blood has nothing to do with love, connection, OR family. Unfortunately, my biological mother isn't the kindest, gentlest, nor loving parent. BUT, I lucked out and my true family brought me home when I was 6 or 8 weeks old. Adoption can be a very beautiful thing. I am so incredibly grateful to have the mother and father that I have today.... they saved me and I will never stop being grateful for them!
I understand but all of us birth moms are not that way. I’ve been waiting for 54 years for my birth son to contact me. It’s not for my lack of trying to find him. I live in MD which is a closed adoption state. I’d give anything to find him!
