    McCabe's a senior right now ('17/'18 WI high school basketball season) at Kaukauna High in WI. He's arguably the 1st or 2nd best player in the state this season. He is an absolute joy to watch play in person. He's one of the best backcourt players to come out of the state of WI in a very, very long time. He's got to be one of the top 30 players in the entire nation right now.

    Update (March 19, 2018): Jordan McCabe just led his team, the Kaukauna Ghosts (yes, that's the team nickname) to the Wisconsin div. 2 state title. Kaukauna played an excellent Milwaukee Washington team in the Wis div 2 state title game. McCabe was superb during the last 2 minutes of the game, he sank two critical three-pointers to essentially tie the game and then hit the winning layup (a difficult shot with a couple defenders on him) to win the state title with about 2 sec to go. McCabe was also just named "Wisconsin's Mr. Basketball." He's widely regarded as probably the best ball handling guard ever to come out of WI high schl basketball. He will have a terrific career for the West Virginia Mountaineers. I'm very curious to see if he makes 2nd or 3rd team high school All-America in a couple weeks, he's that good, All-American good.

      @myjciskate4 3 года назад +1

      @@hagalofnevetsHe is actually insanely skilled. I’d argue his skill level is on par with most nba guards. The issue is his lack of athleticism makes it that he can’t get by anyone or make his moves as effective. There are plenty of guards at the D1 level who are just as, if not more, in some cases, skilled than a lot of NBA point guards. The issue is that a lot of NBA point guards have a high degree of athleticism and skill. You can have all the skill in the world but if you don’t have the base level of athleticism to compete with other high level athletes, it’s nearly impossible to compete at that level.

    • @hagalofnevets
      @hagalofnevets 3 года назад +1

      @@myjciskate4 I agree with that, i just put it in simple words, he just capped his potential before his peers whether it was skill-wise or athletically. It took a toll when others caught up and passed him down the line. That is why these media outlets (ballislife, overtime, etc) need to stop gassing kids early because every flower blooms at its own pace.

    • @myjciskate4
      @myjciskate4 3 года назад

      @@hagalofnevets He didn’t cap his skill or potential early. He just doesn’t have the genetics that would set you up for having that too % of athleticism .You can’t actually cap your skill levels (unlike athleticism). He had pro level ball handling/shooting/finishing by the time he was a sophomore/junior in highschool. His skillset isn’t the problem. He got to the ESPN top 100 based upon his skillset. His problem is his lack of athleticism, which is largely genetically predetermined. He was always un-athletic. He’s still more skilled than 99% of guards in college and on par with most nba and pro point guards in terms of skills. And the scary part is that he’s only getting better in terms of skill. It’s just the lack of athleticism is the problem, which is something he can’t really change that much. He basically got everything he worked for. He wasn’t overhyped at all. In fact, he’s lived up to his hype. He’s still probably the most skilled guard in the NCAA and is just as skilled if not slightly more skilled than most professional point guards. It’s just that you can’t get to the NBA on skill alone, even if you’re substantially more skilled than the average NBA player. In order to make it to the NBA, you have to have a substantial skill level in addition to being a freak athlete. If Jordan had the genetics for the level of athleticism that’s in the league, he would be a top 5 point guard in the the league alongside all of the household names. He didn’t do anything wrong, really. In fact, he pretty much did everything right, if not more. It’s just that he’s doesn’t have that top % of the genetics and athleticism. There’s really nothing you can do about that. I’ve seen him play at the Steph Curry, Chris Paul, and Rajon Rando camps. They all pretty much unanimously agreed that his skill level is on par with most NBA point guards, if not slightly better. It’s just that he doesn’t have the genetics/freak athleticism required to even be able to compete in the league like other small guards such as Nate Robinson, Isaiah Thomas, Tyler Ulis, Pierre Jackson, Junior Robinson etc.. That being said, he’s pretty much on par, if not surpassed most of those guys in terms of skill. It pretty much goes to show that even if you work harder and are technically better at the sport than anyone else, it won’t necessarily matter if you aren’t part of the genetic lottery that allows you to have that high level of athleticism.
