    If they bring in MMA or UFC matches where holdable clothing is required, judo experts like this will be at the top. BJJ might be close but judo upright throws are way better.

    • @leftymariano1020
      @leftymariano1020 2 года назад +10

      Fuck yeah. Can you imagine if Judo brought leg locks back how crazy effective it would be? I don't think Judo schools really teach self defense like bjj schools do. Before you learn any sport bjj u learn the self defense aspect of the martial art which is what Judo should be doing, but unfortunately it's not. If anything i feel that Judo schools should teach ALL SUBMISSIONS at least for the self defense courses, and teach regular legal submissions when training for sport Judo. But honestly, I feel they should allow all submissions in sport as well.

    • @healthywiseandfit
      @healthywiseandfit 2 года назад +5

      @@leftymariano1020 This would make sense if judo schools were focused on self defense, but many judo schools are focused on sport judo. Not surprisingly, sport judo is the only thing these judo schools will focus on. If you were training for the Olympics, you’d be focused on sport judo. You wouldn’t have time to practice judo for self defense, boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, and fighting with weapons when other judoka are practicing only sport judo with the goal of winning the Olympics.

    • @leftymariano1020
      @leftymariano1020 2 года назад +1

      @@healthywiseandfit I literally just said that Judo schools don't focus on self defense at all but should add it in to their curriculum like BJJ does. And Idk where ur Goin with the muay Thai and everything else if it's strictly a Judo school their not gonna be practicing muay Thai and weapons bro their gonna be practicing Judo lol

    • @Edwardjohnfearn
      @Edwardjohnfearn 2 года назад +3

      @@leftymariano1020 the judo kata Kōdōkan goshinjutsu contains self defence techniques against knives, sticks and guns. Kime no kata against swords. Not every judo school teaches kata but it is compulsory for higher Dan gradings.

    • @leftymariano1020
      @leftymariano1020 2 года назад +4

      @@Edwardjohnfearn there's alot more to self defense than practice against knives and swords lol. And goshinjutsu is japanese jujutsu not judo. Judo came from jjj but it evolved into a sport and is now wayyyyyy different. Japanese jujutsu is ten times more effective for a self defense situation than judo. It may even be better than bjj for self defense bc it has all the submissions bjj has, all the throws Judo has, and also has striking and a RIDICULOUSLY EFFECTIVE WRIST LOCK GAME. AND LIKE U SAID T ALSO TEACHING YOU TO DEFEND AGAINST WEAPONS

      @nocap7044 2 года назад +3

      @@Veritas-dq2hs You're talking about in MMA competition which is a sport, with rules, it's not real fighting, which is what martial arts is for, when you have to defend yourself from a threat, also everything has to be modified in a fight, there's no perfect scenario, great fighters make adjustments, it's the fighter who wins the fight not the style

    • @Veritas-dq2hs
      @Veritas-dq2hs 2 года назад +8

      @@nocap7044 well we were talking about mma. That said, judo can be used in the street, but like all other combat sports, it will also have to modified to deal with the uncertainties of the street... and no one sport is perfect for the street. Add eye gouges, bites, knives, etc, and you simply get a complete shit show that can only be mitigated with quickness and brutality in all you do. But again, the streets are crazy and nothing is fool proof.

      戸塚楊心流の「樊噲搦」。
      嘉納が福田の道場でいつも乱取りを取る福島兼吉という男にどうしても勝てず、相撲の技を覚えたら勝てると思った嘉納は、当時二段目の力士だった内山喜惣右衛門という男に習ったがそれでも勝てず終いだった。そこで遂には、西洋の技を取り入れようと上野の図書館でいろいろ調べたところ現代の肩車の応用のような技を見出した。そして、嘉納は大学の友達を捕まえては投げてみると面白いように技が掛かる。何度も繰り返し練習した嘉納はついに福島の大きな体を投げ倒すことが出来たという。
      一説には、「サンボから逆輸入した。」という説もあるが、嘉納は西洋の何という技法から肩車を編み出したのかは明らかにしていない。しかし、西洋でなくとも日本の柔術にも肩車の原型は存在していた。
      肩車の名手で有名な神田久太郎九段が戸塚楊心流の絹担を改良して肩車を開発したとされる。
      国際柔道連盟は2009年にルール改正し、肩車の使用に制限が加えられた。相手が組み手争いから肩越しに逆側の背部を掴んできたような場合や、返し技、連続技の一つとして使うことは問題ないとした。最近は脚取り禁止の新ルールに抵触しないように、脚を取らずに相手の懐に潜り込む変則の肩車がよく使用される傾向にある。ただし、このスタイルの肩車は最近開発された技術ではなく、欧米ではラーツ・ドロップと呼ばれ大分前から知られていた技だった。1990年代前半に活躍していたベルギーのラーツ兄弟(65 kg級のフィリップ・ラーツと78 kg級のヨハン・ラーツ)がこのスタイルの肩車を得意にしてよく使っていたことからそう呼ばれていた。なお、同じく1990年代に活躍していたジョージアの60 kg級の選手であったゲオルギ・ワザガシビリもこのラーツ・ドロップとよく似た技を度々使っていた[6]。また、この脚を掴まないスタイルの肩車は、横落や谷落と見なされる場合もある。
      そして、のちに返し技、連続技として使うことも反則となった。
