    I've been doing the same thing for over 20 years to every car I've owned. I live in the states so we don't have the rear fog light situation here but I understood years ago the importance of having a rear fog light. Some people here that drive european cars seem to have theirs on at all times, even during sunny days which is very anoying, people here don't seem to understand what a rear fog light is... I use mine in heavy snow, rain or fog.

      main ppl that use rear or front fog lights think it is cool due to astectics. they forget rear/front fog lights much brighter and stronger and they dazzle other road users There should be some sort of reminder or explanation on media on misuse of vehicles foglights.
      Every one should know what is their intended use and also understand only to use them in poor weather conditions i.e fog

    Hi man,
    Love the video and going to check out the channel more soon- I'm importing an AE92 Sprinter Trueno soonish, and I need to do a rear external fog light.
    Do you think I could just attach said lamp to a really strong rubber clamp that attaches to the rear instead of damaging and bolting onto the bumper?
    And did the car pass MOT with the loose switch or would you recommend I secure it to the dash? I don't want to keep a fog on the car anyway, but I have to for MOT, and sooner or later it'll be MOT exempt.

    • @projectfearn
      @projectfearn  2 года назад +2

      Hi pal. Every time I had it mot'd they mentioned the loose switch but as the car was so clean and not your usual pos they always let me off. Apparently the lamp is supposed to turn off when you turn the headlights off but I think mot testers are in auto pilot and done actually check that requirement. Good luck with the import pal 👍

  • @Crow555
    @Crow555 3 года назад +4

    My Integra DC5 has a similar set up but failed its MOT this morning (despite it passing for the last 3 years as it is now) because apparently the fog lamp has to be 100mm from the brake lamp. This was a Northern Ireland test centre however, so I'm now probably going to have to look at getting one of those horrible boxy fog lights or having to cut the bumper. 🙁

    If on the rear fog lamp glass does not written E (E11, E9...), is a fail. Also, the rear fog light must be on only when you switch on the headlamps. When you switch off headlamps and fog light must be off. If you switch on the headlamps again, the fog light must be off (to activate the fog light you need to press the fog light button again).

    In order to be IVA-compliant, it must go off with the headlights or ignition, and not come back on without being reactivated.

      @starting_rascasse 8 месяцев назад +1

      IVA, yes, but strangely not MOT - go figure.
