    The trauma of having gone through OCD crises ... Such an underrated topic.

    If OCD relapses and setbacks can be managed then why is it like some people are able to manage the relapses comfortably while the others get stuck??
    This is the new thought coming in my mind as I've learnt to manage my OCD after battling a particular theme..
    Help Me!!

    Thank you so much for this video. I’m having my first big relapse since my episode three years ago. Along the way I’ve ofc had a few setbacks where I worry but this is the first time I’d define it as a real relapse. Everything you’re saying, especially about memory being skewed from our first recovery is so true. I keep thinking to myself how easy it was to pull myself out of it and how my ERP was so simple, but as I’m going thru this again I’m neglecting to remember how difficult it was to expose myself, how intense my fear was, how long it took for me to pull myself out. You’re my favorite person to watch about ocd. You get it and you make me feel so seen. Thank you Chrissie

Still extremely helpful, thank you for sharing this heavy topic with the hard facts and a sense of humor to help lighten it up. I appreciate you!!

    I had a health related anxiety and relapse before. I had to be tested for it. I was not aware of it being OCD. This also applies to Harm OCD and etc.
    Also I think work related stress can contribute some relapses too as I been going through my work history with a friend. My friend said to me that work has done me more harm due to not being happy with a job.

    If the symptoms come back it means you did not do proper treatment and you maintained your OCD on life support. OCD is not chronic if you stick to hard ERP. Because of the blessing of neuroplasticity, we can rewire our brains even if they are hard wired in bad habits or dis-orders like ocd

    • @Ma-tu2jd
      @Ma-tu2jd 3 года назад +2

      I am not saying that relapsing is bad, it happens to everyone and you must get back on track it’s not the end of the world. But what I am saying is: you don’t have to relapse chronically as ocd is not chronic if you stick to the erp method and if you are accountable of your compulsions . Try the greymond method it works alongside with erp 24/7

    I used to have this thoughts that if leave trash in the forest one of my family members will die and god will punish me, i don't ever throw trash around and I'm not even religious but I did believe in my thoughts. I had times I was super aware of my blinking for few days, I would see it constantly be in my presence, I would have times I would be super aware of swallowing my saliva over the days, another theme that took a while to get away, another was my heart beat beating too fast while I went to sleep thinking I have a heart problem, over time I got ROCD, HOCD and even TOCD, the one I didn't get is POCD somehow. With ocd came those groinal responses, tingles which I am super aware but I can remember not having them before, I have a girlfriend also and my first gay though was when I was 27 years old which I can still remember triggering my OCD, but I think my thoughts was duo to self-compare and envy. My ocd also started to develop sensations and its like a constant 24/7 obsession, I even went to watch gay porn which I never did before because I don't really care about that genre but it made me need to test myself with straight to see where I get more excited, of course this backfire because gay porn left no excitement but no matter the test, it would give me this relief and boom step one again. I was never diagnosed with OCD but is this even OCD or am I just being in denial the whole time. I want a good wife and my own kids and I feel as if this whatever it is is trying to steal that away from me. This even hit my dreams, I used to have straight sex dreams which made me happy, now Its like I can't even think straight things anymore and it has self-sex talking dreams themselves while I sleep and its aggravating me, btw that banana in the background of your video is a trigger for me but I can understand why you have it there
