Still owning on this album, 12 yrs ago and always come back to his earlier albums and go through them all again. You've set the bar high for me dude, thank you!
Thanks! i spend a lot of time focusing on the melodies rather than the solos. Yes playing on Andy's track was great fun and I should end up doing a video of that solo at some point. Cheers
Paul Wardingham is a guitar God. I know because this eargasmic masterpiece just ripped a vortex of the space-time continuum in my room. (Bows down) I am not worthy!!!.
I bought this song (and others) on my iPod 4 when I was a child, making this my introduction to metal. Revisiting this now, years later, is giving me constant chills. Thank you Paul, for your sick music!
Man, how you play the tappings are absurdly brutal !! Simply brilliant ! You're taking the metal to an insane level of technical and felling ! Awesome!
I just have to say, going through a great deal of depression, just listening to your songs before helped a lot, but seeing just how much you still enjoy playing them... there just are no words, thank you and keep it up
I've listened to so much metal in my life and nothing made my jaw drop like what you did at 0:56 , It's been 4 years now and this is one of my all-time favourites. You are awesome man!
I love metal and you do the genre justice, keep doing what you're doing. I just wish more people could appreciate the sheer talent that is your channel.
So many years after I last listened to this and other tracks of yours, I still clearly remember so many of the melodies and shred runs. That says alot :)
I.ve just got your album, Paul. One of the greatest guitar works for last couple of years! That's for sure. And very nice melodies, not just dumb technique's demo, it is so rare now. Thank's a lot for great music and perfect recital. God bless you.
There's a bit of info about what amp/cab settings I use on the Studio page of my website. I will update more information for what I use on the new album too, as it progresses.
the best instrumental CD I've bought in the last 5 years. Great stuff Paul! I especially like this song please come to the US so we can see you live!!!
guys.. i'd stop asking for sounds and patches and settings :) the reason why it sounds like this is simple - his brain and his hands.. props Paul.. count me in as a huge fan of yours ;)
There are tabs and backing tracks for Ghost In The Machine, Futureshock, Fields of Utopia and Clones (rhythm guitar only) available from my website. Link in description
It's more of a 'sonic shape' idea being used, than an actual scale or mode. Taking a group of notes the same intervallic distance apart and playing them on different strings in a string skipped sequence. Cheers!
I cannot stop watching/listening to this.. I absolutely love this song.... Paul, you are one of my favorite guitarist... I wish i was as good as you are man... Keep up the awesome songs. I cannot wait for your new album
Sweet playing, clean and clear on all the solos. Nice melodic progressive sounds on the rhythm. Love the sub genres of metal we are getting nowadays. Nice to know there is a bright future for or favorite crunchiness!
Andy James recommended checking you out and I can see why. Love your stuff, great feel and technique. You're a real inspiration, mate! I'm going to buy your album for sure!
Lowering the height of the bridge (if it's a tune-o-matic) and lowering the saddles (in this video, the guitar has a vibrato system in place, so that's what he did) in conjunction with making sure the truss rod is properly straight. And using thicker strings for lower tunings.
You are really great man!! What pickups are you using? They have awesome tone! I will definitely have to check your album out!! You should do some collaboration with Keith Merrow. You would sound great over it ;) He has an incredible friend (Gordon) shredding over it now but I think you would add a nice flavor to it.
Wohaa - that was awesome to watch as a full play through. I know there's a huge difference between putting something together in the studio and actually playing the whole thing. Even more impressed now and can't wait for the next album. It's amazing how relaxed your right hand looks while ripping through this song. Nice Solution 45 shirt. That album has been on regular rotation on my IPOD since it's release. Keep up the great work! Seb
Wow! Just had a buddy send me a link to this vid. I'm a huge Andy James fan, he said to check you out. Great stuff! Going to purchase 'Assimilate Regenerate' right now!
FINALLY found you again! This song has been stuck in my brain for ages, but for the love of god, i could not remember the name. So glad i found your work again, Paul! : )
This is excellent work, Paul! The main melody reminds me rather a lot of Joe Satriani's early material, which is a high compliment in my book. Your leads also remind me of Satch in the sense that you space out the shredding tastefully and let the listener process it as they go instead of overwhelming them. Good show!
this is insane on so many levels... the polyrhythyms, the backing riffs that are heavy as fuck ,and the shredding overlaid on top to boot. One of my favorites by you. Simply badass!!!!!!!!!! could never listen tot this enough
I was just starting to get out of the instrumental metal phase when i decided to listen to Assimilate Regenerate one night a few months ago and it completely blew me away. There’s a part in the middle of Brain Interactive Construct where the drums take a breather that I had to listen over and over again it was that amazing. Had to get every other album and they’ve only gotten better and better. Incredible stuff.
my eyes have been like this the whole video O_O You need to go on tour and come to the US I would gladly play a fortune to see you live. Excellent playing, unbelievable composition.. overall.... godlike. Keep it up man and you will go far, keep rockin \m/
Hi Paul, I have been a big fan for a few years now. I find myself keep coming back to this song. The main melody is amazing, and the end solo piece always brings tears to my eyes. Amazing work. What you do brings joy and hope to many people. Thank you.
Still owning on this album, 12 yrs ago and always come back to his earlier albums and go through them all again. You've set the bar high for me dude, thank you!
This needs more views. The world needs to know of Paul Wardingham.
Thanks! i spend a lot of time focusing on the melodies rather than the solos. Yes playing on Andy's track was great fun and I should end up doing a video of that solo at some point. Cheers
Uploaded video 4 years ago and still replying to comments. That's commitment. Kudos bro.
Fucking epic song btw
the "chorus" melody is one of my favorite melodies of all time. i whistle it all the damn time!
Paul Wardingham is a guitar God. I know because this eargasmic masterpiece just ripped a vortex of the space-time continuum in my room.
(Bows down) I am not worthy!!!.
This gotta be one of the best intrumental metalsongs ive ever heard. amazing paul!

That chorus simply breaks my heart. In a good way.
I love metal and you do the genre justice, keep doing what you're doing. I just wish more people could appreciate the sheer talent that is your channel.

It's amazing how you are able to combine metallic riffs with beautiful melodies resulting in music that is just pure ear candy. Great work, Paul!
There's a bit of info about what amp/cab settings I use on the Studio page of my website. I will update more information for what I use on the new album too, as it progresses.
Man those atonal runs are soooo well placed on your backing track and on your solo, it's beautiful and brutal at the same time ! Wonderful Work !!
I’ve came time and time again back to this song for years now, one of the best guitar riffs I’ve ever heard in my opinion. Fantastic job
Beautiful melody. The power of the guitar is in your hands.
Hi. Yes working hard on the new album, still a lot to do, but heaps of cool stuff to come. Cheers!
Love your style sir.. your stuff as a whole reminds me of fear factory, sybreed, in flames, and scar symmetry! AMAZING! (btw nice shirt!)
Thanks man! Love all those bands ;)
This is one I keep coming back to. What a solo.
First 30 seconds made my eyes water out of joy... Must see more!
I love the way the riffs etc are arranged, especially in that intro. The hook to the melody is fricking awesome too.
Thanks Taha
I especially like the riff at 2:39 and the excellent lick from 4:35 to 4:44, they are simply sublime.
I'm not even a fan of heavy metal but listening and watching this god play is one of the most incredible things I have ever seen.
the best instrumental CD I've bought in the last 5 years.
Great stuff Paul! I especially like this song
please come to the US so we can see you live!!!
3:00 oh gosh that lick, is heaven to my ear..
great playing, your album totally kicks ass! also love the solution .45 shirt :P
WOW. The end to this is about the best thing ive ever heard.
This is my second favorite next to fields of Utopia.

guys.. i'd stop asking for sounds and patches and settings :) the reason why it sounds like this is simple - his brain and his hands.. props Paul.. count me in as a huge fan of yours ;)
true legacy. goosebumps after 10 years are still present

Amazing track! the soloing from around 3:16 is unreal, some amazing melodies in there!
Holy shit. I realized I was in middle school when this came out. I'm in college now. And this song is still the best \m/
It's more of a 'sonic shape' idea being used, than an actual scale or mode. Taking a group of notes the same intervallic distance apart and playing them on different strings in a string skipped sequence. Cheers!
I am 13 and love metal. Growing up I've heard so many great guitarists man you are amazing!
I can tell you put a lot of emotion into this.

Dann

My friends and I watch this as our hanging-out activity all the time.
Sweet playing, clean and clear on all the solos. Nice melodic progressive sounds on the rhythm. Love the sub genres of metal we are getting nowadays. Nice to know there is a bright future for or favorite crunchiness!
Man! I'm speechless!! Seriously, at 3:52 it's outstanding! One of the greatest, sure thing!
Looking forward to it all.
the Staccato breakdown at 2:15- 2:58 Is like an orgasm to my metal senses, I've just been watching it over and over to learn it on mine.
Andy James recommended checking you out and I can see why. Love your stuff, great feel and technique. You're a real inspiration, mate! I'm going to buy your album for sure!
That lick from 4:07 to 4:17 gives me chills ever time...
104,000 views for a man with this amount of talent is unacceptable.
Awesome work Paul! This album has really inspired me in my own work! Inspiration is priceless, so thank you!!!!
Lowering the height of the bridge (if it's a tune-o-matic) and lowering the saddles (in this video, the guitar has a vibrato system in place, so that's what he did) in conjunction with making sure the truss rod is properly straight. And using thicker strings for lower tunings.
Drooling over the piece at 4:08-4:17. Love it!
