    I used a ring of food safe grease right on the bark the last couple of years. Didn't seem to damage the bark, but I'll have to try your method out. Thanks!

    Thanks for the sharing, I normally apply the glue.it works but could be harm for the tree skin. I definitely will try the way of yours. just kindly remainder the ropes attached to the tree the ants may cross through

    what kind of tape do you like best? ive seen some tape peel bark off after grafting, so i stopped using tape against bark of any kind (electrical tape was what i saw peel bark)

    Isn't blackcurrant banned in usa?
    Aphids do fly, you know

      The ban on currents was removed long time ago.
      Aphids have two forms, winged females and males only develop at certain times in the season. When they settle on a plant, only wingless female aphids are produced.
      When wingless aphids keep appearing on new cherry shoots, it’s only because the ants are moving them to farm them

      @@nickkasko2097 Thanks for the info. I've noticed that in the beginning of the season the ants check out all my trees, but they really only farm aphids on my cherries.
