This happens always. Its because of water. Start having ispaghol you will feel better. And have a medicine "smecta" entamizol or entox. They will really help you. Also if you can bring those water purification tablets and you will not have any issues

Hey Steve. I'm British Pakistani, and when we go back we get stomach issues also because our gut is not used to the local microbes. If I'm having stomach issues.. best thing to do is avoid meat, and stick to vegetables/lentils, roti, rice and plenty of fresh fruit. Avoid street food, especially cold street food (chaat, yoghurts etc etc). Hope you get well soon bud.
I’m Pakistani moved to Pakistan after spending almost all my life abroad. I get stomach upsets frequently when I eat anything outside home. So u need to take care with where u eat. Also yogurt and some probiotic supplements will do u good. Additionally take anti diarrhoeal tablets as per need - suggestion Imodium.
Hey Steve , regarding your stomach, try to avoid raw type snacks / street food . You ordered gol gappay ( pani puri) with your meal , the sour water which is served with these is the main reason for your stomach issue. If you want to eat gol gappay, try dahi puri or yogurt filled ones in future. Great to see your host taking care of you. Get well soon.
Hi Steve, avoid street food unless you have references from locals. Eat from restaurants in the shops. Your meal portions are can be a little smaller as well, please keep them to a reasonable level at one time. Eat simple yogurt or simple lassi with very light salt if you want it to be effective. Flavored lassi is good once in a while but does not help your stomach all the time. Nutshell, Eat slightly less at one time, eat from established restaurants! I am not against street food but your stomach may not be used to the kins and level of spice and flavor being used. Also you ll unknowingly encounter hygiene issues as well. Generally rice is safer than curries so keep alternating. Islamabad has a lot of good places to eat. Take good care and enjoy yourself! Best wishes from Mississauga!
Steve one suggestion for you being Pakistani Canadian, avoid oily food, like for iftar first had proper meal like rice, yougart ,any curry even you can take with some naan or roti but just one naan ,always take salad but ask them to make it fresh for you plus yougart ,yougart will always help to cool down the effect of spices ,whenever you order karahi or any other dish always let them know use you want it mild not spicy plus ask them to make it in less oil ,if one time you are eating from outside ,next time eat something simple like sandwiches ,fruits n yougarts ,gol gappay pakoray or Chan chat always take in small portions after meal .this is wht we do when we visit Pakistan. When stomach is upset then pakoray n chickpeas are not good to be consumed, hope you didn't eat much pakoray today and you feel better tomorrow
Ok Steve you need to follow these rules if you want to survive 6 weeks in Pakistan. No raw fruits and vegetables from outside, no chutney, no drinks except nestle water or soft drinks like coke pepsi. Bring your own bottled water wherever you go. If you want lassi make it at home with yogurt milk and water and blend. Eat hot cooked foods. And to recover fast, use Risek powder Hope you feel better soon 🤲
Too much spicy food may irritate your stomack if you're used to a mild diet. Some activated charcoal capsules could help to have with you when traveling, and having digestive problems. Lovely family that is to take care and cook for you guys. God bless everyone.👌👌👍👍
Oh, the food looks amazing! The dahi Bara should be better for your stomach, Steve. Besides, it's home cooked food, so it's less likely to irritate your stomach! Very nice of Amena and mom!!!👏👏👏
get well soon and I will suggest to eat less or rice only for your stomachs problem or try to ask for less spices everywhere you try to eat outside stay Blessed
when I was in Aracaju (Sergipe) I also had food poisoning and me and my friend were staying in a hostel with shared bathroom. I was feeling really bad, even having a fever, and the staff was also amazingly helpful. They let me stay in a private bedroom with private toilet (no extra charge because the bedroom was empty anyway), they went to the drugstore to buy me medicines... the best part of travelling is having the chance to meet very nice people
It's common even for locals, bring your own cups and cutlery, Make sure you don't get ice or drinks with local water. It can take days for your stomach to get used to it. Even with typhoid vaccines you can get sick. My grandpa would go back to Pakistan every 2 years and still get an upset stomach.
If you have stomach bug with frequent visits to the loo, have yogurt with Ispaghol, add sugar for taste. Ask for Ispaghol, very common locally and even here in 🇨🇦. After having a small bowl of this, skip the next meal or two and u will be all set. 😊
