Great video! I think an aspect that both Star Wars(1-6) and LotR share, is that both appear simplistic and easy to understand, but have a lot of nuances that can only be spotted when dealing on a deeper level with the movies.
Crucially, both Tolkien and Lucas have a deep respect for traditional mythic cycles and metaphysics; their synthetic mythologies are this authentic and sincere.
Star Wars fandom is confounding. It’s so meaningful to so many people that they don’t know what it is actually about. The frustration seems to have reached such a critical mass that every release will be met with hate in a knee jerk reaction.
