I'm a 62 yr old grown man. This red headed pony tail dude on lead guitar sho don't do nothing but make me cry up in here like a baby. A big baby. Luv me some Truck Band.
my first concert coming out of Covid was TTB @ Red Rocks, literally openly wept...62 at the time. i had missed live music so much and seeing them did me in
@kevinshanks1845 Red Rocks is the best outdoor venue in the States. We were at the 2nd James Gang show in 35 years. We also saw the Black Crows, Robert Randolph, and Drive by Truckers. The girl I took to the shows is now my wife. Thank you for reminding me of that place.
WTF -- HHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Me too he's awesome.
that black guy is unreal. just premium talent!!!!!!
Susan and Derek are such beautiful people producing beautiful music with a beautiful band. Thank you
AMEN!!!
This band is all class and Susan has a voice like no other!
Every Derek Trucks solo gives me goosebumps, he´s such a gifted guitar player!
It's like you know he's going to kill it but you just can't help but get goosebumps
gifted doesn't cover try wizard and master of the guitar
TRUE STORY
I feel ya!
I think Susan a better guitar player.. but Derek has a nice voice at least.
Above all his other beautiful talents, what strikes me most about the great Derek Trucks is that he seems to always be deeply in the "zone", for lack of better word. It's zen like, really. It's where serious musicians always try to get to, mentally/spiritually, to make the magic happen that takes them and their audience to a higher level. Depending on many factors, both external and internal, those "moments" can be evasive and fleeting, at least for us mortals. But he just seems to live there. Having such great players around him helps, no doubt, and he would be the first to point that out, I'm sure. But he's truly someone very, Very special. Not many like him and I'm so very grateful he's the sonic explorer that he is. Long may he stay in the groove.
"he just seems to live there" perfect depiction.
Excellent Description, Brother!!
When he's really digging during a solo, you notice how tight his eyes are closed. Another guy who might not've lived there but he knew how to go there was Clarence Clemons.
Perfect comment.
Saw TTB withy my wife at Red Rocks on my birthday this summer. This is definitely my type of music (We rarely agree) rather than hers and she wasn't familiar with the band or their music. One of my memories of the evening, as Derek was absolutely shredding, she leaned over and said, 'Hes really good!' It might not be her preferred music style but there was appreciation for it.
Derek's playing just keeps getting better and better
Midnight in Harlem. I'm transfixed whenever I hear it. And then I listen again.
Absolutely 🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸❤️🎶🎸🎶🎸
I can't help it, I listen to it over and over, 🎸🎶🎸❤️🎸🎶🎸
Derek will go down as one of the all time greats. I've never heard such sublime and powerful slide playing. Ever.
duane :)
Sonny Landreth. Ry Cooder.
Rory Gallagher
IMHO, Derek is up there with all of them. And Bonnie. And Lowell. And Elmore.
Don't forget Mr. Cooder.
I first saw them in London. The second time was at the Mahindra Blues Festival in Mumbai India with Doyle Bramhall as guest. In all the years that I attended the Blues Festival, Derek and Doyle were the only "stars" who walked around the site an chatted to the people. Such a brilliant guitarist and band leader and a humble personality,
Just so beyond talented and what the world needs during this shallow musical time , their literally fighting for music, I love them
so true. if she turned around you would think she is bonnie rait. love them both!!!!
My dear old Dad is directly responsible for me loving this music. He turned me on to the Allman Brothers and from there...the GREATS! We just laid Dad to rest. I hope he can hear this. He would've LOVED this band. The best thing he ever gave me was a love for GOOD music and this is just fucking beautiful!
Bless
Love the Alman Brothers since the begining
Awesomeness! 😊
"THE FREQUENCY of LOVE!" This collection of muscians are the tightest of the tight! Sublime perfection by Derek and Suzanne singing like an Angel surrounded by the talented sounds of PURE JOY!!!!!!
God in Heaven ! , Bless this family/ band , I cant seem to wait to hear them again
I just love this band ever since I saw the Eric Clapton Crossroads Concerts on Palladia. Great Group!
They are better than the sum of their parts. The whole band plays off each other's skills and passion for what they do. I saw them once and can't wait for the next show. Absolutely the best band in a long time. Derek and Susan could be selfish with their off the charts talents, but they share the talents of their bandmates for an awesome sound. Great band in the time of the pop stars that have no soul.
They don't call themselves a family for nothing
A friend recently asked what female vocalists I have been listening to and why. I love this band and feel Susan (and Derek) opens up the stage for every musician to shine. The big feeling is gratitude that seems as if it gently spreads over the stage and spills its love to the audience. I have tickets for Red Rocks at the end of this month, so looking forward to it!
I agree. If you have no soul, and you can't feel the music. Why bother Playing
Of course i want more Trucks solos and Kofi resurrected
It's so rear to see a guitar player with such a gift, and at the same time totally lack of ego, genuine humble
Man, Susan has really grown in to an incredible guitar player!
How I got here tonight, I'm not sure, but I'm diggin' it. I'll never understand how Susan can sing so well, so often, and now, for so long. She is a machine. A beautiful, sexy machine. And I won't even start on Derek or Kofi or Mike or . . . These folks learned a lot from their elders and they're rockin' it.
Like every single overbearing gf I have ever had. Puke.
@@gringoloco4why are you still here?
@@pegmarinello4175 to melt snowflakes like you, Peg!
This band has become soooo great over the last years. So much talent.
Absolutely fantastic
Gaute Øien have you watched them perform in the NPR Tiny Desk Concert? It’s crazy good, and they are crammed in the smallest of small spaces.
Midnight in Harlem is just heartbreakingly good
It is, isn't it?
One of the finest works I've heard in a very long time. It's the whole package, a stirring and primal melody; haunting, yet elegant lyrics; moving lead and backing vocals; all wrapped in a mind bending and beautiful guitar trip. How am I only now hearing this song?
Absolutely beautiful melts my heart
I am in love with this woman!
me too! :-)
I do too. She's the best@@johnlee1891
I am 73 and haven't seen them person. Susan was so cool at the Jeff Beck tribute. Some of her peers commented on her power and talent. She's in the perfect spot to explode. Go Susan!!! 🎉
The rest of the band is a circle of talent and ❤.
I saw Derek ripping it up when he was twelve years old. Incredible talent!!
12/16. Just bought my tix to see them in Philly in June of 2017. They're doing 3 nights! Bought them in a pre sale special the moment they went on sale and was lucky to get a floor seat! What a great band. Truly one the best bands of this generation of musicians.
The word that comes to mind to describe this show is simply: Joyful
Rock on sonic explorer..
Thanks for keeping the big rock band sound alive!
This was filmed the night before we saw them in Milwaukee. It's so cool that they put so much of their stuff on video. I'm sure it makes good business sense because it draws crowds to their live performances. You won't be disappointed.
I just notice during Made Up Mind, Derek is using his own signature slide. Cool!
They crush this whole performance, but that is one of my favs here. As for the slide, not sure what you mean. DT looks to be using his usual slide which I think is very similar to Duane’s.
for me, they're turly the top band in the whole world
Best live performance band ever. Saw them last night in Oaktown and they burned the place down!
One of the best bands! Susans voice is so sweet!
It is such a REAL pleasure to have seen Derek grow up from opening for the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND ON JULY 4TH 1993, until now having played with GREG,AND WARREN AND DICKIE AND BUTCH, JAIMOE, OTEIL, MARC, AND OH SO FREAKIN MANY MORE.He has truly become a legend in himself being tutored(not that he needed it)by the ABSOLUTE BEST MUSICIANS THAT EVER LIVED WHEN HE DID.His work with ERIC CLAPTON was astounding,as he was when playing with B.B.KING,AND SO MANY OTHER GREATS, MOST ALL THE GREAT MUSICIANS that played while/when he was also performing. His moving on to SUSAN TEDESCHI'S BAND AND THEIR MARRIAGE, all I can say is WOW, he has given me such musical pleasure along with the other greats of our lives. If it wasn't for the music I so enjoy, I would not have come to where I am today, having been truly blessed by the music, message, love and inspiration these ladies and men have put into my life. Play long Derek, stay strong and well, keep on keepin on.
Exactly, the T.T band is carrying on , in the roots tradition of southern rock revolution of the 70’s, the best!
Before RUclips videos and DVD's of live concerts, the best we could have was going to a concert or buying an album. For the most part I had to settle for recording artists, which was fine and dandy at the time. Then along came the age of children singers who know nothing about playing musical instruments. They don't need to because some engineer in the recording studio can create the instrumental sounds for them and make every note they sing come out pitch-perfect. I consider that to be kiddy-porn-glam-pop, cookie-cutter music.
But with today's videos of actual live concerts it's as if we can attend a concert without even going there. Consequently, I have far more respect for "performing artists" who actually do their own live singing and playing.
Tedeschi Trucks Band is a great group of incredible musicians. The videos of their concerts, when recorded properly and professionally, are among the finest concerts available on the internet. Back in 1965 the phone company advertised to us that long-distance was "the next best thing to being there." This phrase applies to Tedeschi Trucks concerts as well.
I am happy to say that I have had the good fortune and great pleasure of being able to attend 2 TTB shows, both in Madison, WI, including this one. My adult sons, who attended with me, love the band also. And they accuse me of being obsessed with the band. I plead Guilty, as charged!
I agree with everything you said, and I love watching concerts on you tube, but seriously people. Go to shows, it's worth the money. And artists need people to attend their shows if you want good artists like this to stay around. Or else all we will have is the children singers.. And that's no world I want to live in
CRAIG ANDERSEN Whenever I see a video like this one it just makes me want to see them live even more. It becomes something I want to experience first hand.
I'm here so obviously I'm in. But real music is no longer restricted to real musicians. I appreciate the Big Pink sound, Blind faith, ABB, SRV, Albert and BB. But before I understood this, I was a true true hip hop head, and still am. There is a beauty to what the producer and emcee can do as well. Because while actually playing the instruments is ideal (lol, prob everyone reading this says it's necessary), what truly draws us to the ART is the emotional connection, touches the soul..personally I can find that in tons of places, whether it's Trucks playing the slide, Neil Young, Velvet Underground, Kanye west, or Action Bronson doesn't matter. There's finely crafted art in all genres.
Same here. You said that perfectly.I hope they will be wheeling me in the see TTB.
After almost 40 years of marriage and the terrifying experience of my husband loseing his job we bought tickets to not one but two shows. No regrets !Love you Tedeschi Trucks Band !
Well said. I do get to see them live in Gilford NH , July 2021!
I have seen these folks a couple of times in the last several years. The musicianship is fantastic...Susan's voice is like Aretha, Janis and Bonnie combined...Derek has such soul and such an amazing mind with his funky, bluesy solos....The brass is tight...as are the drums and keyboard...Doesn't get much better than this!! Great, great band...all of them!! I hope they come around again soon...I'll be there!
I agree dude but sometimes she just sounds like Susan Tedeschi...
I've always said that if Little Feat and Bonnie Raitt had a baby (and god knows they tried, heh) it'd be these guys....
Send them 3 times already 😎 got tickets for London April 2019 😃
A beautiful.mix of Black & White American super talent...
Love & music heals all things..
God Bless this beautiful music family..
There is no black & white, only humans baby.
Why do you feel compelled to bring up race?
Man color don't mean shit
What a beautiful gift they give. Music that is full of joy. God, how we need that now.
Possibly the most amazing thing about this incredible group is the consistency of quality her vocals maintain live. I have literally never heard a “bad” night vocally in all the live performances I’ve seen.
If you listen to a band for over 2 hours, you like that band.
thanks god this exists
Somewhere Duane, Greg, Butch and Barry are smiling.
Brother, you just made me CRY! ✌️
Midnight In Harlem. Chills, y'all
I played this everyday for 10days while I redecorated my bedroom, was the best, may have pissed off neighbours with the volume and the repeat , repeat 😂
I’M 71 AND TTD BAND BECAME AN INSTANT FAVORITE AND THROUGH THE TEARS, I’M PLAYING MORE SLIDE NOW ..
THEIR ABILITY AND TALENT IN GOSPEL, BLUES, ROCK AND CONTEMPORARY GENRES ARE JUST THAT ..,
IMPACTFUL ..
SUSAN REMINDS ME SOMEWHAT OF JANIS ..!
Definitely the most enjoyable modern band! Long live rock'n'roll!
Brings back memories of Little Feat live ... Tower of Power horns ... TTB have that incredible variety of ABB to LFB sound ... so enjoyable.
Great, great analogies! 👍 Love this band so much! Can't wait to see them this upcoming July! 🙌
Saw/heard them at Blues Fest in Portland on July 1st. Susan and Derek are awesome but you throw in the excellent band that they have put together and you have a unforgettable experience. The Band, the BAND!
Their music is THE MUSIC
Its like the perfect couple, on stage i mean, there seems to be something tender and intimate going on but they also leave so much space to each other, both musically and physically
It's a rare thing when a couple can work together professionally & stay strong in their relationship. That needs lots of love & understanding.
I so enjoy watching their interviews together. My favorite music and favorite musicians. All of them. They are a family. It makes the music better, IMHO. RIP Kofi.
I sure get that vibe too. Must be Amazing to share that
TTB is simply perfectly the best.
Saw this show at The Ryman in Nashville--great show, fantastic sound, and oh did I mention Susan's parents sat right in front of us? Mamma was up on her feet and groovin'...I guess you're never too old to enjoy this soul-feeding stuff. Favorite solo-when Derek thrashed into the last solo on "Bound for Glory" had goosebumps all over. This music should get way more attention and appreciation.
Best band from the USA i hear for years....!! Makes this week a bit warmer ...
He's amazing .I still remember the first time I saw him, and said to myself wow
Madison, WI. what a wonderful town to get down and enjoy yourself.. The school is great the people are open-minded and me personally have never heard a bad word about the place nor Derek Trucks. Man, that guy can play the slide like no-body's business, and am glad that he and his wife have continued in the best of traditions. Blues-Rock-Slide. Doesn't get any better. Thank you both for YOU!
Wow, the unbearable sadness that must be in those 22 'thumbs down' people lives....
even more sadness worrying about them...
Been 4 years and I never thought about that post until you worried about it. ;o)
AZCobraman , I take it "ACCobraman was already taken? But yeah, I don't get the "thumbs down" either. This is worth it just for the cleavage.
I'm from Arizona, so AZ was actually my first choice.
I made a complimentary comment about Susan's very fine rack in another vid and got pounced on...so I won't mention again here what a very fine rack she has...
Truly one of the tightest bands today, TTB along with Joe B really put, well I’m not going to say everyone else to bed but they really both have it going on, and that is really putting it lightly. Having had the incredible luck to see the original ABB lineup and numerous times thereafter along with other greats that do this kind of music with the horns, backup singers, organ, piano, etc., TTB is so far ahead it’s just 😍😍😍😍😍😍😉😉😉😉😋😋😋😋😎😎😎😎😎😎. The gig with Doyle and Trey Anastio is so great I just couldn’t believe it! Cant wait till it comes out on CD. Listened to the whole deal every night to go to sleep to till it was pulled off RUclips. Still a few clips but the whole gig was pulled.
By far the best current touring band👌 Been to all their shows when they have come to land down under, hanging for them to visits us once again!
Simply the best in vocals and music , there is no comparison anywhere, rock on Tedeschi trucks band 😅.
.
.
Yes! I think they are still an unknown, extraordinary talent that deserves more recognition!🎉
ALL I can say is Ohhh my God. Awesomeness 🙆😀😀
Every section of this band is just perfect....
How have I not heard of this Band before?? Love her voice!!
I love her and the "girls".
She is badass
Best version of keep on growing played by humans ever
listen in at 53:40 if you want to be moved by a really great band, a really moving singer, and a fabulous subdued gentle superman playing slide guitar as well as anyone ever has ... [song is midnight in harlem btw]
That slide solo slayed my existence
All that cleavage is slaying mine.
Derek is always such a neat well groomed guy and so calm and self-assured...never fails to amaze me. He's just SO constant and fluid. wOw
Oh my gawd! I thought Bonnie Reitt was singing. My first time hearing this band and I am so impressed, such amazing talent. Glad I stumbled on to them.
I dont no how people dont no them.i guess diffrent taste in music.after greg passed I really started to follow them.i love it.and there married 2 of the greatest musicians of today.its got to be a lot to balance but its awesome
Susan is better than Bonnie Raitt
@@petehoward8494
I love both Susan & Bonnie!! I bet together, they could tear something up!!
I love Bonnie's Song, Something To Talk About!!
Bonnie knows her way around a guitar as well, but I think Susan has Bonnie beat by her playing style, but Bonnie is old school good.
Amazing...one of the five world bands at the moment for shure...
Rest of the five?
Fantastic - I love this band - I do hope they will come and play in London UK - in the meantime - these videos on You Tube will keep me happy - thank you guys xxx
Just saw them at Red Rocks on Friday night. Truly next level musicianship. So much humility and I love the way they showcase each of their band members. So cool to see this in musicians.
Tedeschi Trucks band is the very definition of Music!!!
Majestic
Universal
Spiritual
Intrinsic
Creative
Much Love & Respect for all you give!!
Derek should and maybe is as we speak be performing live with his band and Susan should be doing the same.
faithful (to the traditions of rock and blues)
WOW ! Mind Blown ! So much talent in one band, Susan & Dereck are a match made in Heaven ! Best RUclips concert I have seen by FAR ! I could watch it everyday of my life ! lol Bound for Glory is out of this world...my fave ! Keep on Rockin Guys ! You are music !
I'll be durn. Finally, some real music by "real" musicians (smile). We just Luv it.
My favourite part of this gig has to be the tiny bit of indian classical improv Derek does just before Midnight In Harlem, it gives me chills every single time...
Nice ! I just want to curl up and relax to take in Miss Susans Singing.
Besides her just amazing vocals, Susan is bad-ass guitar jammer in her own right! Just can't get enough of this band!
Perhaps the most diverse & versatile group on the planet today...
Seriously this is one of the Greatest Bands in all the lands..Ive been Dig'n ol Susan since the 90's , and now that she's with Derek, and this whole band its just dam dynamite...I spent decades chasing bands ,and live shows..Now im getting to old for all that so ive built a sound system in my livingroom that would rock a crowd..Playing this show ,and having it up on the big screen is the next best thing to being there. Dont just play this on a computer, get this up on whatever speakers you got to really enjoy this..;)
my favorite band of all time . Susan's voice is riveting, emotionally moving. listening to the blues for 45 yes, they are by far the best band ever.
I call her the “blonde fog”!
sooo much talent...
If I never saw another band ever . . . So what! They have everything I need. Trucks is in a class all of his own, and his misses sings like an angel. And . . . whose ever seen an angel with a body like that?
I love this band so much!!! I play an album just to revisit and have a listen, and I wind up obsessed for weeks again. Such nice head space to be in. Can't wait for this years tour!!!
By far the best musical group out there.. The talent is just Amazing!!!!!
Great band! Best wishes to t hem all!
Truly beautiful music... great musicians.
And The Drums on "Idle Wind." were amazing!
Oh man oh man, this is the blues, the blues that pulls at the soul.
In times like these, we so need music like this to nourish our souls. Thank you TTB -- and Pavel for posting this! Simply cannot wait for their next tour. I WILL BE THERE! You should be, too.
Definitely need this kind of stuff in the Biden days !
@@johnjeffries1050 no politics please. lotta people cant cope with trump neather
Midnight in Harlem...ever since I listened and watched the Crossroads tour version on You Tube I was hooked!! What a outstanding group I love the way you work the intro and the crowd waits again after Derecks jam for the tune to subtly go back into the song. Of course Susans voice and 🎸 rocks it as always! The singers, drummers, and all the organ ect really do a exceptional job you all got my respect and a deep love for the beautiful music!!
All that I need was always my favourite T&T song, but now it is even more
Susan's solo on Don't Miss me was badass.
Good Lord they are all sooooo talented..........gives me hope.
Derek. It quite amazing how tuned in he is everytime!! Hes brilliant
As I scrolled through the comments you folks have written as long as 6 years ago, your comments are so inspiring and so very articulate. It's humbling to have discovered this marvelous marriage of music and souls until recently. I've been an Anders Osborne 'addict' for about 6 years and was blessed to have heard their incredible sound playing with him. "I am the Moon" took my breath away. 🌜
Man - she's pretty awesome. I mean.....dang. Great couple. Great band. Great music. Great to be a witness of it.
Makes you forget how fkd up everything has been for nearly a decade now.
Who the hell votes thumbs down to this amazing concert...??????
@Andrea Vlasis probably a Toby Keith fan.
@Andrea Vlasis its well known democrats fuckin hate the tedschi trucks band
@@jureklemencic7316 this is sarcasm right ? Lol
@@TTWGD3 yes
Thumbs down is for Susan Tedeschi whose singing style reminds me of Aretha Franklin, except Susan's Gospell style voice is a far cry from Aretha's! Furthermore, her guitar playing is unworthy of Derek's skill and since Derek gave up his band, his creativity has been held back for his role in the T-T Band, seems to be a supporting role with Susan as the centerpiece of the band!
Many of us play music for one of two reasons: (1) to reflect our mood or, (2) to change our mood. Regardless of the reason, I've come back to this extraordinary performance on an extremely frequent basis. The combination of Derek's incomparable guitar playing and the power of Susan's soulful vocals AND the extreme talent of all the members of the band...well, let's just say that (A) each of the parts of this group is without doubt top-shelf but, (B) the whole is greater than the sum of the parts! I'll be listening to the Tedeschi Trucks Band to my last breath...and beyond. :)
Derek's lines have such a singing - human voice - quality. What a talented guy.
These musicians are amazing , to my mind they are our answer to the New Classical, country, rock, minstrels , and will be legends . never get tired of their music !!!
Love this band
I feel their music so intensely it brings tears to my eyes. Literally overwhelming.
I love the amount of love this band has for one another. Also can't help myself but to appreciate their love for making amazing music always! Every show is a must watch
just attended 1/22/2022 chicago show.. only my 6th but the chemistry and artistic devotion and more importantly talent on the stage has no equal.. to live in rock and roll for as long as they have, to create the band they have, to be married and have a full musical love affair on stage in front of us... .. the best band ever !
I have been a professional for 35 years and only discovered this band by pure chance last month. What a wonderful guitarist this guy is; up there with Peter Green for feel and above Ry Cooder for slide. And that bird can sing the tits off most of the so-called modern singers ...
Love this comment. I put these guys on for almost everything I do (tinkering in the shop, gardening, burning brush, hanging with the woman and dogs by a bon fire, driving).
He grew up surrounded by the Allman Brothers and as for his slide.. Eric Clapton once said Greg Allman was the best slide guitarist he ever heard so it makes sense.
Was that Gregg Allman that Clapton was talking about, or was it his late brother Duane? Duane and Eric played together in the iconic blues/rock band Derek and the Dominoes
I saw Duane LIVE a few times :-) changed my musical LIFE ! And Derek has taken that...and continued !!!!! :-)
Have tickets to see them in Chicago January 25, 2018. Never seen blues played with an Indian influence. George Harrison and Ravi Shankar would be proud.
