The number of men who hit their wives, girlfriends, sisters, mothers, aunts, grandmothers and other important women in their lives is still higher than the number of women who attack their husbands, boyfriends, brothers, fathers, uncles, grandfathers and other guys in their lives. When I saw how the husband was being abused like that by his wife I was almost on the verge of tears because he was being belittled and physically abused. Abuse in the household or even behind closed doors is never okay.

This woman not only knows what it is like to be on the wrong side of the law, but she also experienced what it is like to be abused just as her husband was by her own hands. Alex is way too kind to not want her to suffer. His mother on the other hand isn't so forgiving, which is understandable.

Abuse is NOT okay, whether it is physical, mental or emotional. Julie was a terrible wife treating Alex as if he is less than human. What is wrong with him being a nurse? At least he has a job, and his job is just as important as hers. Being a police officer doesn’t make her better than anyone. Her friend is just as bad, if not worse. How you going to come up in someone’s house being disrespectful? That is just plain ignorant. I’m glad Alex’s mom came in and not only put her in her place, but arrested her. Ms. Yolanda wasn’t playing, she was a lioness protecting her cub. Julie got her karma at the end, I hope they also charge her friend as well.
Abuse is Abuse, whether it is a man beating a woman or a woman beating a man, no one deserves to be treated like this. No one should be putting their hands on their spouse at no point under no circumstance. The truth is that more men are actually abused like this by their women but because of their pride, they don’t report it. Anyone one man or woman who is physically and emotionally abused by their spouse needs to get out of that situation ASAP before it is too late.

I can relate to this story I'm also a victim of abuse. My high school boyfriend used to beat me and I still have nightmares and my mind is still healing from the trauma I got out of it but its never ok to hurt the people you love

I know how it feels to be in a relationship that’s either abusive or loveless. That’s just as bad as being in a loveless relationship or marriage. I’ve dated a couple of girls that were verbally abusive. I’m just glad I didn’t marry any of them.

Glad that female copper got what she deserved. I find situations like this very unfair for male and female. What I find unfair is that when it's a woman, they get believed straight away, but when it's a man, half the time, they don't get believed. This is a very important message to take abuse seriously no matter who is facing it.

I wish I could've seen the friend arrested. Here's how I think it could've gone down:
Tess: (arrives in Yolanda's office) You summoned me, ma'am?
Yolanda: Have a seat, Officer Tess.
Tess: (sits down) Why'd you ask me to come here?
Yolanda: You know about what happened to my son, Alex, right?
Tess: We all know, Julie was abusing him, left him with a head wound that could've killed him. If you ask me-
Yolanda: I'm asking you how you could be callous.
Tess: Ma'am?
Yolanda: When Alex woke up from his surgery, you know what he told me? The day when Julie injured him, you were there. You outright harassed him, degraded him for being a nurse, applauded Julie's abuse and witnessed her hitting him in the head with her gun.
Tess: That's not true. I was never there.
Yolanda: (moves a computer monitor, showing camera footage) Your car was seen entering the apartment parking lot and leaving about two hours later. You were there that day; you're lying to me and you know it. You saw it happen and you did nothing.
Tess: (shakes her head) We were just messing around with him. Julie didn't do anything wrong.
Yolanda: Did nothing wrong!? I found him on the floor, in pain and half conscious! If I hadn't come by the apartment to check on him, he would've bled to death! You knew about Julie's abuse of my son and you did nothing! You have betrayed the honor of the badge you claim to serve!
Tess: We didn't do anything wrong, okay? Julie was just trying to get him to be tough. If he can't handle a few jabs-
Yolanda: That wasn't a 'few jabs'! You were degrading him and you know it! And yet you have the gall to look me in the eye and not only lie to my face, but justify yourself. There is no justification for what you and Julie did to Alex. None!
Tess: (sigh) You're making a big deal out of nothing. We were just messing with him; it's his own fault-
Yolanda: Shut up. Stand up and put your hands behind your back.
Tess: Wait, what? You can't arrest me-
Yolanda: For being an accomplice to attempted murder and neglecting to render medical aid, I can and I will. Now do as I say or I'll add resisting arrest to your charges. (handcuffs Tess) You know the drill.
Tess: Come on, it was just a joke.
Yolanda: I'll tell you a joke: you're going to Ryker's Island alongside Julie. You want to be loyal to her, you two can share the same cell.
Tess: WHAT!? No! Please! If I go in there, I'll be killed! Please don't do this!
Yolanda: My son asked you to stop, yet you didn't listen, so why should I? (takes her badge off) You don't deserve this badge. Now get moving.
Justice will be served.
