I am 30 now and in a relationship, but I felt the same way you did at 18 and never had a real boyfriend until I was 24, it always frustrated me in high school and collage when girls would just be so single minded and obsessed with having a boyfriend or having a boy interested in you. It’s so so important to be comfortable with you and not worry about those things. friendships and family were always a priority to me over boyfriends. And I think it’s important more people shifts their mindset to this.
This is so true! I’ve learned that if you can’t be happy by yourself you won’t be happy in a relationship. You can’t rely on another person to make you happy if you don’t make yourself happy because in the end, you will always be there for you and that’s the one constant in life.
