Happy Birthday Baba Ram Dass, like Hanuman bringing the ring to Sita we are eternally grateful for reminding us that god hasn’t given up on us. Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai ram 🙏🏻
Wow, listening to this in July 2024, it speaks to so much that is happening now .... once again. I was around in the 60's/70's, and it saddens me how little we've learned from history. But it is what it is, and what we have is now. May we use this incarnation to offer a better path for those behind us.
Its so interesting to hear people like Ram back forty years or so -people who were interested in change for the better and all the things he speaks about here and to see how much things are the same now and what has changed and how. Interesting in many ways and challenging to not become completely pessimistic.
19:17 - Something I learnt in business. Admitting fault and taking responsibility is an incredibly powerful tool to transform situations. Far more powerful then dodging blame. Wise words.
Wonderful how Ram Das puts humor and wisdom at your feet and then walks away. I am touched by the humble simplicity and power of his teachings. And above all, so timely in our own time of confusion, polarization and global problems. What I'm learning for myself is that if nothing changes in our consciousness, it doesn't stick in the world either.
This one hit me like a brick 👁️✨ God is all knowing and in divine time the plan will be revealed. Thank you for this never ending syncronicity 🙏🏼 Namasté
Love you so much! We alive are born at this fascinating time! The Oldies are goodies the sixties created Woodstock and now we need to be a light so serve people Om we are doing emptiness enjoy this! Emanuel says be human, be humane and honor and play your spiritual part not spiritual materialism!❤. See you soon thank you peace and love let us all be divine with an open heart and compassion with each other. Be Yourself no one can do your job divinely
I like your channel lol I use it to listen to a couple talks , crazy I found your channel here from a comment 5 years ago lol been watching your channel for a couple months
listening to this talk was thinking it could have been spoken this weekend 2020... amazing ... it really gives a clear talk to how we humans repeat ourselves as is discussed so to avoid change or the scenerio that which we be attached to
@@dredlew “The Weekend Retreat with Ram Dass” was organized by the Omega Institute of Rhinebeck NY and took place in a 18th century Shaker Village in New Lebanon NY. Accommodations were basic and spartan. Vegetarian meals were served and eaten in silence. Lectures on the Gita and chanting were particularly powerful. It was a blissful weekend never to be forgotten…..Hari Om
Ram Dass. Some of his wonderful early activism political expressions. With a much higher consciousness, awesome awareness with cosmic perspectives on many different levels with much clearer visions of life, culture and spirituality. Interesting how all of these words still totally resonate well with our current circumstances concerning our collective consciousness here on Earth. Totally appreciate this entire conversation with self.
I swear I had a conversation with him last night…..as a stranger laying in his hospital bed. He went by the name, Ron but same mannerisms, same eyes…and when he smiled and said “we are all just walking each other home” I drove home thinking, I was just in the presence of my beloved teacher who has already left his body. Well played baba, well played. 🙏🏼❤️
1:03:11 I’ve listened to this one at my highest moments and at my lowest. It’s incredible how much perspective can change with perception. There were times I listened yet there was no _I_ busy listening. Times that seemed to be without highs and lows. Times that seemed to be timeless, as if there was no time at all.
Times of spiritual ecstasy where nothing was short of perfect; where nothing had to be said or done, nor could be. Times without doubt or belief, and times consumed by doubt and polarized by beliefs. Times of cynicism, times where it all just seemed like imaginary, a drunken memory that can’t be recovered into anything sensible. Times where every second seemed to last a lifetime and times when my life seemed to flash by as if it were just a second. Times with tears of joy and despair, times of laughs with wisdom and perspective, times of bliss with naivety and innocence, times where I was sensitized to everything everywhere and times where I was so desensitized all the colors just seemed grey and all the sounds seemed like noise. Times it was all imbued with significance, and others times where it all became insignificant. Times where it felt like I had everything and times where all I could think about is everything I no longer had. Times I assumed I had nothing to lose, and times I thought lost it all.
Sometimes beautiful things come into our lives out of nowhere. We can't always understand them, but we have to trust in them. I know you want to question everything, but sometimes it pays to just have a little faith.
Thank you ram dass for changing my life and helped me bring compassion and love into my life. You have helped so many of us with an expanded perception about life light and love. Namaste
Ram Dass. Full lecture 1980. Some of his early activism political expressions. With much higher consciousness, awesome awareness with cosmic perspectives on many different levels with much clearer visions of life, culture and spirituality. Interesting how all of these words still totally resonate well with our current circumstances concerning our collective consciousness here on Earth. Nobody for president!? Please compare NOBODY to all other candidates for political office positions and you will discover that there is a qualitative difference. Humor is an incredible process for up leveling. For awakening. I had the list. 1. Nobody looks beyond politics to people. 2. Nobody will tell it like it is. 3.Nobody is ready to up level nationalism into humanitarianism. 4. Nobody admits errors. 5. Nobody Cares. 6. Nobody is interested in reducing the gap out of rich and poor nations out of compassion rather then out of fear. 7. Nobody is free out of international paranoia. 8. Nobody cares to see that every human being should be fed and should be fed first. 9. Nobody knows that world hunger and clothing can be easily cured or totally healed with only a few weeks of all arms dealing stoppage with proper conscious cancellations. 10. Nobody is holding up a mirror to our collective paranoia in consciousness. 11. Nobody is demanding that the media assume responsibility commensurate with their power. 12. Nobody is reducing bureaucracy. 13. Nobody is calling all industry on the carpet for toxic waste. 14. Nobody is respectful of the aged. 15. Nobody is investing in a grass roots communication network to decentralize power. 16. Nobody really thinks small is beautiful. 17. Nobody espouses the politics of love and forgiveness. 18. Nobody sees worldly power as secondary to spiritual power. 19. Nobody honors the basic institution of the individual human heart. 20. Nobody values humor in the awakening processes of all consciousness. 21. Nobody recognizes that spirituality is extremely important on the physical plane of existence.
And get this, Terrence Mckenna and Ram met in a cafe in Prague for coffee once and there's a video of it on RUclips. All of my favourite internet accessible philosophers were acquainted :P
I can't seem to fight the pull into isolation, even though its been clear that what we need is some sort of union between the individuals. The woods already cut, I'm just too lazy to gather it.
All I can say is I'm glad I'm almost 60, so maximum only 20 - 25 yrs or so more of having to cope with this shit. I just feel sorry for my young adult children. They have no future.
A great talk and photos... Anybody know if that one of Neem Karoli Baba and Ram Dass merged together from separate ones is available to purchase? Would love one to frame. It is on from 50:20 for several minutes.
Maybe we keep repeating history until we “learn our lesson.” I heard a quote: “we need to talk less about chemical imbalances & more about the imbalances in the way we live”
how do you know? What happens if next year a nuclear war starts. Will you still think he was wrong? We cant possibly know how things will play out. We havent had nukes for that long.
All the fake.....dramatic...........pauses.............are...................totally..................annoying. Take these out and his speech is only one hour.

Crazy to think of alan watts and ram dass in the same room. That brings wonder and beauty in my mind to imagine.
We have never needed him more than we do now. Thankfully technology can still bring his words to our ears.

Yes, his words still weaken.
This kind of depth found me as I was drowning. I'm eternally grateful for finding it or it finding me...
Yes!!
You are never alone and you are always loved!
This was relatable in 1980 and now in 2020 it is still the same. Truly weird situation
yes, very weird in that we haven't caught on yet
Absolutely mind blowing 🙏🏼 so grateful
Yep
I like how SAMSARA said funny in that we haven't caught on yet
But now 2021 it’s worse than 2020!
"Once you have a spiritual perspective everything in your life Is the process of the spiritual unfolding" 💛
Its amazing that this was made a year before me and yet I can still listen learn and love this man.

Thank you Ram Dass who still lives and inspires us through his words.
He helps me fall asleep peacefully 😌

Strange isn’t it . I listened to it today and so relatable
So strange, and beautiful.
one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it
Now that’s the Ram Dass I remember from my weekend with him at “The Abode of the Message” in the summer of 1981. Still relevant today.
Thats amazing. Please share more about it.

1:22 The prince and the butcher, loving this parable, lights flashed, a real path to how to live life!
Wow, he thought we were “preening before a mirror” back in 1980! And that was wayyy before “Selfies” and social media existed! I love this man!

"From an anthropological view, it's clear what's happening to us." Ram Dass
"nobody cares" this man is fucking brilliant. That was a spectacular performance.
Wait, Ram Dass an Alan Watts actually met and were drunk together? It's at 9:30
He was also a friend of tim leary

And here we are now in March of 2022 and Ukraine is fighting for its democracy and the world is in deep chaos.
