My whole theory on why William killed the kids and not adults or teenagers is because he wanted other parents to feel how he felt when he lost his kids, that's why he killed those five kids and Henry's daughter, he was pretty much saying "Take a taste of my medicine and see how you like it!" He wanted others to feel his pain. Ok so I'm only editing this one last time people No Glitchtrap or Vincent didn't kill the kids or control William to do it, Vincent wasn't around and Glitchtrap wasn't even an existing character by then Glitchtrap is future William as a computer virus in the game and book, he became Glitchtrap after his body became useless and his soul was transported to the computers system with the help of Circus Baby aka his daughter, Elizabeth Afton That is also why his name is Glitchtrap, he's a virus or Glitch in the system, he wasn't suppose to exist in there but he does So there's no possible way Glitchtrap could of killed the kids or "controlled" William to do it Same thing for Vincent, Vincent wasn't in the story that much to have such a big plot as killing kids or making William do it for him He was more of a side character if anything And another thing, the remnant part, I do have to agree that he was hooked on that stuff for the longest hoping to get immortality and get his family back, that's somewhat why he did it but also because again- he wanted revenge for his kids and wife's death, well more like he was in pain and wanted others to feel it too. But still, immortality was what he was aiming for, and for awhile he did have it, until Cassidy sent him to hell where he lost it after finding his way out with some help if I remember correctly. If you have the books and all the games you should look into this, it might not be noticeable at first but it's there.

I had graduated from college and finally became doctor in a huge hospital and i met a handsome guy and we started dating, after dating for 6 years we finally got married and we had 2 kids, we watch our kids grew up and just as we know, we were finally elders. We went to check the intro and the intro is still playing. We are ghosts now. We watch our kids having their own family. We decided to check the intro one more time and half of the intro isn't even finished 🗿
Honestly if William hadn't made those robots in the first place his life of perpetual torment and bloodlust would have stopped long ago now he regrets it all I can say is glichtrap is the real villain now since he is purely William's bloodlust and psychopath side while the real William really would regret his actions and be forgiven by the children and finally achieve peace and relive a normal good life
