Im now rewatching this as a decent osu player now I just realized 4:27 they picked perthed again as a nomod 2????? They picked a map with NO STREAMS AS THEIR STREAM MAP???????
i've been rewatching this video randomly, and as the referee of this match, i can tell you the reason why perthed again was nm2:
The tournament they've been playing had a certain gimmick of every round having something unique added to them. This went from having Scorev1 used to random score multipliers over to the actual PLAYERS creating the mappool. And as for Round of 32 in this match here, the gimmick was exactly that the players created the pool. So the staff members have assigned each teams captain to a certain modpool slot, and then the teams were able to submit maps under their assigned slot. After all maps have been submitted, the poolers went ahead and picked the best fits for each slot.
We didn't have anything better than this map for nm2 if you couldn't tell after this video, and it was quite a meme during the showcase as well. But it was a fun concept nontheless.
The map at least has some streamy bits, despite being more of an aim map after all imo, so it was still good enough
And yeah, I know the answer is a whole year too late, but better than never, right? xd
