I would love to experience this mountain riding to be honest. It's a little intimidating how vast these trails are though. Def don't want my wheel to die then having to walk it. Do what you like man. Keep it up
I am new to the EUC world. Your videos are really helpful! I plan on riding exactly like you I don’t want to go fast; just cruise and enjoy the views! These are not boring video! :)
Marty, Thank you for sharing! I enjoy your videos and input/testing of the EUCs. Nice seeing you cruise through nature! As the Max is my #1 pick for a second wheel once my skills improve a bit more, I look forward to seeing what you do to it and how it performs ..ha ha ha! Be well! -Shane
Pleasure to spend part of Saturday with you in your sweet spot, albeit virtually. What beautiful views and the peace and quiet is unmatched. Who could possibly thing that's boring?
Beautiful views thank you for sharing your rides,,,absolutely not boring at all I live in Illinois I'm looking forward to go to California for a long distance ride by the mountains of San Gabriel
I mainly solo ride here in the UK along canals and trail's specifically for the scenery and views so I'm definitely with you on this one.Always do what you enjoy and not what people think you should do.👌😃
Hey buddy you gotta go up Mt. Shasta on Everett Memorial Highway to "Old Ski Bowl Trailhead". It's paved real smooth but theres plenty of trails to do once you get there. The vibe up on the mountain and view is insane
No such thing as a boring wheel ride Marty... your riding areas are spectacular as always,,, same as your videos. The only thing that worries me riding in areas like that, is coming across some A-hole in an F450 or Ram who wants to use you as target practice... do you ever encounter ass-hats when you are riding? I have had mostly positive encounters (so far) ... but the drivers who give no space make me nervous...
No bad encounters yet. I use my helmet mirror extensively so I always see any traffic approaching from the rear. If they aren't giving me extra space I can move further off the shoulder if needed.
@@ElectricUnicycles Same here Marty, other than the drivers that seem to want to knock me with their cars mirrors... most drivers don't seem to actually want to cause harm. One A-hole in a 4x4 did come up behind me at night on a dark road (I was doing 75kph at the time) and put his lights on high beam... I believe he was going to be an ass-wad,,, but I had my insta360 on at the time so I swung that out the side ... I believe, he saw that....the lights were dipped and he drove past without issue. I would suggest that all EUC riders buy a GoPro of any age... or a Chinese look-a-like and clip a mount facing it rearwards on helmet mount or shoulder mount... whether the camera works or is even on doesn't matter, as long as drivers can see it and think they are being filmed, they will be more likely to behave. I emulate you and also use a helmet mirror... I ride alot at night so easy to see headlights behind in the small mirror.... (I feel nervous without it)... I also emulate you using a flip face helmet.... you have been a great mentor for me on my EUC journey (I am 60 and bought my MCM5 only last April. have Nik+ and Sherman and 3'800 km so far)... the only thing I can't emulate is the great hair! haha. Keep up the great work mate... You can see some vids on my teenie weenie channel, Wheel McCoy on FB
Looks great Marty, another great benefit to those long mountain rides is that it doesn't seem like you encounter a lot of people. I sometimes ride on pretty busy paved trails and every once in a while there's some jackass that makes a negative comment to ruin the stoke. I was having a great ride on my hero yesterday, very sunny beautiful weather and I experienced a negative encounter like that and I kind of put a dark cloud over things the rest of the ride.
Yeah, not a lot of people on these kind of rides. On trail rides every once in awhile there's a bad encounter but it never bothers me. Maybe 6-years ago it did but I learned not to care :-)
@@ElectricUnicycles yeah I try to ignore it too and be polite to everyone, overly so, but one guy started with me yesterday and I just kept riding on. Fortunately or unfortunately I carry pepper spray with just in case.
Hi Marty, amazing as usual breath taking mountain views. i do not cry my burn Nikola anymore. Jason at ewheels got me good deal on a sherman max it is a really diffrent animal i love it so much.
I like riding when it's quiet. I avoid busy traffic. Too much bicycles here. I love riding through the scenery: Dutch landscape, Belgium hills. It's just...my Sherman isn't build for hills 🔥🔥🔥. Hopefully my Sherman motherboard will arrive this week.
Marty well done! I'm slowly going up those trails as well. I'm planning on riding my car uphill on Glendora Mountain Road to the Glendora Mountain Trail. The GM Trail to Azusa is about 5 miles. Have you ridden that trail yet? Small steps for a newbie with an MCM5 v2.
Really enjoy hicking/running up in the mountains, but I treat my EUC more like a dirt bike seeking thrills over 5 to 10 mile rides. But each for his own, cruising is cool. If your down in OC and looking for a thrilling mountain bike trail ride that an EUC's can handle (sort of), try Weir Canyon, just outside Irvine Park, head out on Roadrunner Loop Trail, super fun with great views and technical trails.
I haven't ridden that. I tend to like the longer trail systems, like riding up to Santiago Peak. You should join my Southern California Telegram group (over 300 riders) so you can participate in all the rides happening in the various counties. See the Description in the video if you're interested.
Thank you for another fantastic video, Marty! Could you share the name of the song, please? Keep riding, vlogging and staying safe. Thanks so much, again!
@@ElectricUnicycles Thanks for sharing, Marty! Just heard the original version and am blown away by Mr. Lazaro's composition. Can't stop listening to it! Who would've thunk that you can find great music on an euc vlog, huh? 😆 The version you used is also gorgeous. What language is that done in, may I ask?
Wouldn't know, not too many mountains around here (far SouthWest of the UK). Nice rural areas though, and plenty of coast line :-) A long ride for me is 30 miles, never thought I'd be doing that a year ago.
I think they both have essentially the same amount of power, but the Max certainly has a higher speed. Only consider the Commander if you need the extra ~10% range.
The riding footage paired with the drone captures and music choice was really fitting and relaxing. Once you get used to the Shermax would you mind doing a comparison to the Sherman? Thanks
quick question morty, is it okey in ur opinion to test the euc machines like u stride did to s20 which ended up in a fireball??? like brutal accelerating & braking on these euc's repeatedly ???? thanks... or do u think u stride mistreated the s20 during testing which resulted in fire ball???
No, I don't think he was being unreasonably tough on the wheel. And worse case, the control board would fail. Under no circumstances should a wheel end up bursting into flames even if the rider stresses the wheel.
@@ElectricUnicycles Yeah, I'm just jealous, being too banged up from e mountain bike crashes, at 72, to want to take learning a EU on! 50 years of flying hang gliders, ultralights, and airplanes, and I've been hurt worse riding a frigging bike! The UK has a lot of scenic areas to ride from what I've seen. As time goes on you'll go further and further :-)

Superb, Im all over ebikes, but seeing a few unis on the trails in the UK...how do they last so long, is it just a massive battery?
Yes, massive battery. In this case a 3600wh battery.

Marty, can you confirm the Sherman Max has 3400 Wh instead of 3600 Wh?
No I can't confirm that.
People are waiting for you to unlock Sam mode. Speed run up the mountain.
Me too. Hopefully when the 4600wh wheel is available we can ride up these looong mountain roads much faster.
You'd need half that protective gear if you had double the wheels.
But, then only 1/2 the fun.
Very true lol
